    This is a great idea to use a large hoop and adapt it for smaller designs.

    I downloaded the file for the hat hoop and had it printed on a 3D printer. I made embroidery on about 20 caps. Excellent helper, I am very satisfied. Many thanks to the authors. Best regards, Vitek, Czech Republic.
    I was just surprised by the M5 metric screw in the United States. 🙂

    Clever! You're a Fusion ninja for sure. Some tips for others: If you have a flatbed scanner it can also be used to very accurately measure real-world things. If you're using a camera, get as far away (max zoom) and as parallel as you can to minimize perspective warping.

    I only recently got back into machine embroidery and while browsing the price of bobbin cases found the hat hoops. Yikes, they are expensive! So congrats on finding a solution. I confess, that when I saw the prices I thought I might design one for my Janome, just for the sake of it!

    gonna print this for my wife. Very new to 3d printer. dragging the file into Cura I notice it defaults to printing it standing up, do you think thats best or should it be laid flat?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo

      We would absolutely print it flat. You will get the best results and bed adhesion that way. Thanks for watching!

      @@ProjectAnonymous_Duo I did print it flat with a raft (the first print with no raft failed) . It came out great. Thanks so much for this. I just bought her an embroidery machine for her birthday and we just got a 3d printer. So this was a perfect project to get started.

      The 3D printer we’ve been using is the Creality Ender 3 3D printer: amzn.to/3BCYbiU. Here is the PLA filament we use: amzn.to/3tiMXNy (PLA filament is the plastic material you use to 3D print with) For more information on 3D printing we have a playlist of our tutorials on 3D printing here: ua-cam.com/video/Lfz0AcpSVLM/v-deo.html. Thank you for the comment. If you're talking about the inner piece (that holds the hat), you can download the 3D print files from our thingiverse page (link in the description). If you're talking about the outer piece (that connects to the machine), that 5x7 hoop came with our machine, but you can purchase that hoop and others from amazon (amzn.to/3hLZ68h). Hope this helps!

    I asked a few question on multiple videos great vids by the way ! Very helpful. I have a. Question my needle keeps breaking which are the ones the machine brings and i’m working on thick fabric like sweaters and I would like to know a good needle I can purchase for the machine that would hold as much as possible for sweaters? Any recommendations?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks for watching! A sturdy needle we recommend for denser and thicker materials is the 90/14 needle: amzn.to/3BwJSMs. I hope this helps!

    • @davidvizcaino8414
      @davidvizcaino8414 3 роки тому

      @@ProjectAnonymous_Duo do you use this needle in general or only for thick materials. ?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 роки тому +1

      Only on the thicker materials… Our go to needle for normal embroidery is the 75/11 needle.

    • @nathaniel7186
      @nathaniel7186 3 роки тому

      Ball point needles work best when sewing knits, like sweaters on a sewing machine. They have a duller point, moving the knit thread aside rather than cut through it like a conventional sharp needle. Most ball point needles are size 14. Good luck with your projects!

    I wonder how difficult it is to adapt it for an other machine?

    • @ProjectAnonymous_Duo
      @ProjectAnonymous_Duo  3 роки тому +1

      Well, since everything is based off of the outside edge of the inner hoop ring, any change in that shape would basically require a complete redesign.
