@@paulc6766 "@4literv6 Never mind I'm sure your taxes will subsidize the old legacy automakers to an even greater degree." Most likely not. Any attempt would include Tesla that in turn would take most of the subsidies for themselves.
@casperhansen826 You're very likely right but pols will try nonetheless. Who wants to be first pol not to do so? Would get burned at the stake for making the prudent choice. And the unions will get in the way of shutting down non-performing plants, suppliers & supply chains. Gonna be a mess.
Yes, Tesla leads the way this is why Chinese people consumer love the Tesla cars in China. It's the technology that attracts the Chinese consumers and anyone that loves technology. Happy new year Lars
I've read estimates of 30% to 50% of new car sales will dry up when robotaxis become ubiquitous. If robotaxis faires go below .30 cents/mile the average family will save more than $6,000/yr by giving up car ownership and taking taxis everywhere. Given the cost of insurance, maintenance, and gas it will be cheaper to take robotaxis everywhere than it would be to drive and maintain a car that was given to you for free.
I love my antique 2019 Tesla X, and refuse to sell my Tesla stock. Elon refused to unionize in USA, which has proved to be wise. While Unions are killing the "legacy" auto makers. But what do you see for Lucid & Rivian.?
All of these American and European auto makers that have delayed production of EV's, or who have not reached profitability with EV's will be so screwed in the very near future when most of the major market has either gone EV or are flooded with cheaper imports. Tariff and protectionist measures will only work so long but when you make only ICE cars with a shrinking market your future is indeed dim.
@12:36 An *SDV* (Software Defined Vehicle) isn't a _customer_ facing aspect. It's an OEM _creation_ and post-purchase _maintainance_ aspect. The OEM is through with the *SDV* the day it leaves the factory, but an *SDV* can live on through many owners and many alterations/repairs, until it is scrapped and sold for parts. (†) †) Even then, the part carries its history with it. Think of it as _BlockChain_ for _auto parts._
1. I’d never buy any other car but a Tesla. 2. I’ve yet to sit in a Chinese EV I’d ever buy! Just sat in a few at the Everything Electric show a few months ago and the BYD’s are all so over engineered inside it was like being in a casino vs sitting in any Tesla where there’s nothing in the interior! The rest aren’t even worth mentioning….
GM, Ford, Honda, Nissan, and VW are all building less cars in 2025. How many millions cars less will they build in 2025? We do not know. Will Tesla sell more in 2025? Yes. A lot more.
You're doing a fantastic job! A bit off-topic, but I wanted to ask: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
Add Tesla to the list of legacy automakers: they stalled entirelly in sales in 2024 (-1%) and will be unable to prevent the flood of affordable Chinese cars in 2025.
Also Tesla are not trying to just make EVs they are focusing on the AI industry and robots driverless cars and mega batteries They just built the biggest supercomputer in the world Colossis
On a previous video, I think I heard you say that Tesla's camera's could see wavelengths of light humans cannot, including infrared. Is this true? I asked another UA-camr and they said they didn't have any proof of this. I have a 2024 M3 and it does seem to be able to see very well at night and in the rain and snow. I'm really curious how Tesla is doing this.
@taefravis you can always import the China EVs. Just pay the tariffs and go through the process to make them street legal, so you can get a US title, registration, tags and insurance.
Lesson: lose money to make money with EV investment or lose money with ancient tech that no one wants to buy…..and go out of business. If that isn’t Western corporate philosophy (minus companies owned by Elon 😂)
Nobody cares, that car is way out of reach of this audience. Most of us believe that NIO is a dead car brand since they are known for the outdated battery swap technology that maybe made sense five years ago but not anymore
@@casperhansen826 Yes I definitely agree with you that everybody cares about NIO now that the Onvo and Firefly are within reach of this audience. Lars. Can you do a review of a Hongqi they are not available here in Australia and are very luxurious cars I’ve seen them on the Beijing and Shanghai car shows on UA-cam Thx 🙏
Testla is no longer competitive in China, the model Y is a joke compared to rival models in the same segment. I had extensively done my research because I was in the market for a medium SUV.
Wrong but thanks for trying, Tesla re selling mORE EVs each year in China not less. I know this is true because unlike you I actually do my research and do not spout nonsense like you do!
@@taefravis When did I say Tesla sales are declining? I said they are not competitive to those buyers who actually compare models in person as well as on spec sheet. Many people simply assume a brand is better without research and make a purchase. Tesla still has brand loyalty in China for now, but for how long? given they are objectively not competitive vs at least 5 models I can think of off the top of my head that I checked out in person. Model Y was my top choice before my research and ended up last.
I live and breathe Tesla, and 99% of my life savings is in Tesla stock. I drive a Tesla, but man that Xiaomi SU7 is gorgeous. Once they get FSD I may even switch over. Chinese have the early movers advantage for sure, and their economic model is perfect. Selling cheap cars to the masses will eventually give a LOT more profit, then companies like Rivian and Lucid that rely on expensive models.
7:53 I have to disagree that China needed Tesla for them to get into EVs. China was already into it selling Buses and other big vehicles before this. They just wanted to see how Tesla made their EVs, so they could copy them. Also, I wouldn’t be surprise if China counts EVs from Tesla as exports in EVs. Technically it is made in China then exported. We know Tesla has a lot coming out of China.
April 22, 2014, Tesla CEO Elon Musk delivered the first Tesla Model S sedans to Xiaomi founder Lei Jun and Li Auto founder Li Xiang. The two were among the first 15 customers in China to receive the car (Tesla Weibo).
@ Yes, true. I was in China 2008 and they already had electric mobility before my visit. They have been growing over time just like Tesla, when OEMs would shrug off Tesla technology back in around 2014 time frame.
I am not sure if that is true or not as Tesla has been so instrumental in the adoption of EVs round the world that we will neve know. However I do believe it is at least true that without Tesla Chins would have found it far harder to get into EVs as it was Tesla who set the standard for SDV with cars getting smarter with age not dumber. Tesla sold a ton of EVs in China that then resulted in Chinese consumers expecting and demanding that all EVs are SDVs which in turn forced Chinese carmakers to follow suit and thus show consumers round the world how inferior legacy auto makers EVs are and how superior Chinese EVs are. So I think that China certainly did benefit greatly from Tesla setting the stage for EVs and what is expected from them as well as the production numbers they exported from China and thus helping China.
@ I would say we both agree the world of EVs wouldn’t be were it is today without Tesla. Another opportunity GM lost when they killed the EV1 and 2, that people loved so much. I would also add that Tesla set a quality of safety that wasn’t there in China with their EVs.
