What a novel premise for an interview; things get revealed that haven’t been talked about anywhere else. Great conversation to be the virtual fly on the wall for. Confession 3 sounds like self-sabotage, glad Georgia set David straight! Loved the story about Melissa Von Stressle, too!
Okay but about that last confession, adding to the fact I can relate to it, I’m very curious to know whose film franchise he unintentionally insulted, who so happens to be someone he’s worked with on another big franchise 😭😭 😭
someone on tumblr told me that they knew someone who got told the story and it was about tom hiddleston, which does line up with how he talks about it (lots of prolific stage and film work and got his big break with the mcu). obviously it could be false but i'm incorporating it into my belief system anyway cuz it's funny
I’m mad of the last one cus I have done that to and I’m thinking nooooooo David stop talking!!!😭🤚 thanks Georgia for being there tell him wtf was that?😂
Interesting show premise. May I give a note about penances, from an American Catholic perspective? They are meant to lead the soul toward wholeness, and to hopefully bring healing to the source of the trouble. Though there may be a place for making a penance difficult to “prove you really are sorry”, we want the ultimate goal to be the good of the person and of anyone they may have harmed. The third penance you offered comes closest to this ideal - seeking to address the underlying “imposter syndrome”, but it hurts my heart to think that your sincere penitent, having stirred up these matters of concern, may be left in despair of God’s loving wish to forgive and restore him, that it’s “too hard” to even aim for. Your original intent may have been light-hearted, but I hear such sincerity and vulnerability on the part of Mr. Tennant that I have come to care what he takes away from this encounter and that he be built up and encouraged, not discouraged. Thank you.
for the record i'm not the person doing the podcast (stephen mangan), i just thought i'd reupload it to youtube because it's not been uploaded here before and not many people know about it. i do think david was being very sincere and honest, but i don't think he was particularly expecting forgiveness seeing as he's just on a podcast with a friend of his and he's an atheist. i do sometimes worry about him saying his imposter syndrome has only gotten worse though, i'm just a fan of his work but i hope he can reach a place where he's free from the pressure he puts on himself
@@linshanhsiang yeah he is (can't find a source but i remember him mentioning it somewhere on a podcast; but at the very least he isn't particularly religious these days). he mentions the church of scotland so much because his dad was a minister and he grew up religious and it shaped his worldview
I see what he means. The critics (mostly) love him, and the fans definitely love him, but if he _were_ one of the cool kids, he'd've been in a few top 10 A-list films by now, and gotten his Oscar, and/or main Emmy (and not merely the International one) and/or film BAFTA (and not just the regional Scotland TV honor), or some big film festival awards. It's not that he's incapable of being terrific in a blockbuster-type picture like a Forrest Gump or Rain Man, because he's obviously an fantastic performer, but he's apparently never been offered the opportunity. Fortunately, as a character actor who just happens to be brainy and attractive, he'll probably never lack for work, but if he/Georgia/his agent/a good friend/someone at A24 were smart, they'd give him a character-driven script where he could be the lead.
We must protect this man at all costs.
it's killing me how he got on a podcast to talk about some of the things he's most ashamed of and it ended up endearing him to me about 10x more
You are so worthy of people’s attention Mr Tennant :-). Loving your work x
Thank you so much for uploading.

Von Stressel (she was supposed ro be German). Efficient, well organized and not ashamed to tell people off - or say NO to other people😅
lol I love him even more

Fabulous 😅

@@hetarepianist9754 Thank you for letting me know. Can you forward my Comment?
@hetarepianist9754 He's an atheist? I've seen him describe himself as a member of the church of Scotland.
I agree with you skepticism @@linshanhsiang . DT may not be especially “devout” and “practicing”, but I don’t think he’s said he’s an atheist.

I wonder if pissing all over work you actually admire might be a form of self-denigration.
He doesn't think he's one of the cool kids?
@@winonahdrake6931 clearly not but he DOES have an adoring fanbase trying to tell him otherwise
@@hetarepianist9754 But he said once that all the good reviews are nonsense and the one bad one is true.
