  • Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) are extremely common. MSDS are injuries or pain in the human musculoskeletal system which includes the joints, muscles tendons, cartilage, nerves, ligaments. Musculoskeletal conditions and injuries are not just conditions of older age - they are relevant across the life-course.
    Between one in three and one in five people live with a painful and disabling musculoskeletal condition (WHO 2016). The prevalence is expected to continue to increase both due to our ageing population and rising levels of obesity and physical inactivity. The cause of such conditions is varied. It is known that physical movements that are repeated with a high rate of frequency, poor posture or activities that are undertaken in an awkward position can affect musculoskeletal health.
    There are some simple steps can we can all take to reduce the risk of developing musculoskeletal symptoms; Prevention is better than cure!!!
