Smart by Taylor. Landed his shots and then clinched Papi to negate any counter shots coming his way. Papi looked lost after the 1st round. His form and footwork were very sloppy and he constantly overstepped into range which negated his ability to effectively counter. With Taylor ducking into the clinch so often, Papi should have been throwing uppercuts up the middle or a pull counter to punish Taylor for throwing those wide right hooks. Papi looked underprepared and idk what their game plan was but it either was an awful gameplan or Papi simply got caught up in the moment and didn’t execute on his teams plan. Making this a 3 round fight was not smart either. 3 rounds leaves zero room for any adjustments, not that his coaches seemed to even attempt to tell him what he should be doing between rounds. Disappointing effort from him tbh

Salt has the talent & skill. His left jab is fast and dangerous however I noticed how open he was to be hit. Didn’t see enough defense that’s why his fighter easily connected, engaged powerless punches and scored. His style has been the same. It became predictable for his adversaries.
Everything changed after this fight. From being the scary dangerous one and avoided by most contenders to a boxer whose opponents want to fight for sure after what came by.
Therefore, he should significantly improve. Team SP must work on his cardio, defense and be strategically smart. Even-less, he has a great boxing future. I believe he can step up again.

a TKO/KO easier. You fend off power strikers like salt papi, he doesn't have any strike sets just power shots. So engaging then using the clinch to disengage is a great stratagem to win fight. Salt kept throwing the same stuff, left cross left hook that somewhat left uppercut, and everytime AT would duck and slip to dodge and hit salt back with something anything. I picked AT to win this one.
This guy I think is a real test for any of these up and coming influencers. He's a bit of a gatekeeper in my opinion, like one of those journeymen that will see what you are made of and can upset the odds.
He's tough, fights awkwardly and with a frantic, pressuring pace.
You can see here it frustrated papi, also the fact AT was fighting at a pace for 3 rounds, while papi was not.

Yea but also 3 rounds isn’t enough to really see who’s the better fighter and to see who can pull away and see the skill gap. More like getting warmed up

@@walkermusicandother3374 They both agreed to 3 rounds.
At this level, they really should be going only 3 to 5 rounds.
3 rounds does show that Salt Papi could not adjust or stick to a plan. He wasn't ready to let his hands go and fight when he had to, or to have a pace for 3 rounds.
Meanwhile AT had a plan, stuck to it and fought at a pace appropriate for 3 rounds.
We definitely saw the better fighter that night, since one stuck to his plan, one didn't and began to show signs of frustration.
