The fact that all of FromSoft’s expansion releases thus far have evoked that sense of ‘How did we ever play this pre-DLC?’ is _exactly_ why I’ve been so willing to let Miyazaki and his team cook for as long as they have on this. Quality of this level cannot and _should_ not be rushed to fit within any kind of quarterly deadline.
I agree. Quality is way better than quantity especially for a game like this.
Yeah, after the Old Hunters DLC I've since divided my life between the time period I didn't have the Pizza Cutter and the time period after I got the Pizza Cutter. Ah my true mentor...
This is why I'm being so patient for AC6 dlc.
I also like how every time there's a new piece of content, there's something totally original and unique about it, like, just the design of Messmer alone is genius, cus it's equal parts artistic and badass
Dark Souls 2 is definitely the standout in that way. The base game is not bad by any stretch, but the DLCs overall make it a fantastic game.
Imma say it to many videos of Elden Ring dlc, That Lion Barongsai Boss is THE Boss that i can't wait to see it's attacks and movesets of! And doing that Kick to enemies is very cool
If you're gonna do another run pre-DLC but dont want it to take forever, the perfect balance they seem to have designed is an "all remembrance" run. It takes you through each area of the game without forcing you to kill all of the side-bosses.
You have no idea how much i waited for this reaction
I start my new job June 24 so I’ll make sure I put my two weeks in accordingly so I can have about a week to shut myself in and play this 😂
I wish there was a way to start a new game plus with all your equipment, but at level 1. My character is so overpowered. I want to replay the game, but wish I could just have all my gear. I don’t even care if I have to level up the gear again. I just want my gear
what are the odds that dlc will win game of the year? or at least hit that high point
Drink water gamers
You have vodka I your name you are the last guy I would expect to be a hydration reminder lol
Does powerade count
Vodka in the name yet telling fellow gamers to hydrate properly. What a lad. 🤝
@@raidengoodman8754depends which flavor
What is this…water you speak of?
2:30 the OST is on fucking point holy shit.
2:57 I think this is some of the most uplifting and even optimistic music I've ever heard in a Fromsoft game. It's so out of character it hits so hard.
It truly fucking is holy shit
This is like, phase 2 of Ludwig levels of "Jesus Christ im gonna get my ass BEAT"
Wanna bet thats a part of Messmer's boss theme lol
@@SkellyHertzyeah that’s my favorite part.
Messmer goes from no pants freak into really bad mofo after that
Miquella - “Would you kindly?” 😂
Powerful phrase. Familiar phrase?
OH NO
My Bioshock tattoo has a whole new meaning 😭💀
That phrase Will go over most people’s heads
Is my name Jack?
Fromsoft gonna break the internet again in four weeks and i can't wait to jump back in this game.
That shot when Marika is holding those threads of grace between mountains of corpses and the wind hits her from the world beyond is such a powerful scene. With the music and all the context and mystery, my God that is epic.
Yea it's pretty Metal
Specifically the way the hair flows
It's Marika
3:00 the music here is so beautiful and heroic. I can't imagine it as a boss ost I wonder where they gonna use it!
Was thinking same thing!
miquella ost for sure, first phase and second phase
By far my favorite part of the trailer. Miquella is the only person I've seen in the Lands between that's actually fit for the title of Godhood, rather divinity, It seems he's constantly sacrificing of himself for others, is egoless, and has no problem giving up power, sacrificing power to help others. In many eastern religions and philosophies and cultural history, It is considered that one who has attained true strength or true knowledge of the world has no problems giving up their strength and power because they know it's illusion, ego is illusion. Self is illusion.
@@aeriagloris4211 as much as I want to believe this, the gameplay trailer starts with ”Pure and radiant, he wields love to shrive clean the hearts of man”, and Miquella is probably the only one in Elden Ring that can be described as pure and radiant. I think he might be a “good” person in that his actions are good, but he himself isn’t. Like, he might be slimy and manipulative for example.
@@luckystarplays1837 that line I interpret as an allegory to Jesus Christ, where people are so afraid of the idea of someone who will forgive them no matter what they do, it is terrifying to them because everything in the elden ring world is out to get them and that is all they know.
"Prioritize the good shit." So, another 140h run? Nice.
Everybody is gonna get impaled by messmer
All 46cm of it.
All 19 inches 🤤
18 inches 🤤🤤
18 inches of messmer
Impale me messmer 😩
I love medieval dark fantasy
I know right
I was reading one today, then the author introduced QI 70k words in, and made it more powerful than mana. !@#$%
Read Berserk
Dark Souls DLC's usually release just 3-6 months after release and end up being the best content in each game. I can only imagine what 2+ year dlc looks like.
It really feels like it's practically a sequel, they're certainly marketing it like one.
Elden ring dlc alone has more than 30 official ost (same amount of DS3 with dlcs ost)
To be fair that just suggests they held back the dark souls dlc to sell it separately. Where as they needed funds from Elden ring sales to make the dlc. It doesn’t mean longer development necessarily.
there is 0.00 percent chance they created everything in those dlcs in under 6 months knowing anything about how game development works, they were likely already completed before the base game even launched
@@SadMoribund Well, to be fair, a game that size would have many experimentaions along the development so reuse and polish those assets might already give them some good chunks to begin with. Modified assets in the base game would be a quick way to stacks up your advantage ( based erdtree vs shadow erdtree, grass, changing color etc...). Movements and all the hitboxes would mostly be fine since it's still using the same system. Probably the level design and creating new assets would take up most of the time and they had 2 years to do it, wouldn't be much of a surprise if it turns out to be like half the size of the based game tbh.
Thank god there are studios like From Software to make games for us. One of the few AAA studios that never disappoints
Well, I mean, they did make Steel Batallion: Heavy Armor for the Kinect...
One stain in over 20 years of stellar games is a pretty reliable track record.
@@Twinleaf_2623
@@Twinleaf_2623Nobody was disappointed with kinect games because nobody expected them to be good
@@EmpireAnts42 Fair point.
The shot with all the homies gives me chills
That's all of us
@@nopainnogain4147no those people are the new npc our comrades in Journey miyazaki already confirm it
I vote for a Maximillian to do a “martial arts only” Elden ring play thru
l wanna do that so bad the thought of having a bone Fist style weapon in Elden ring is exiting😭
Lame, we don't even know what ridiculously cool stuff there might be. So locking into one kind of playthrough now is silly
@@aeriagloris4211
i was gonna get the kick weapon and play as Lee Chaolan from tekken
3:33 Oh look it's the "murder for their drip" posse
Was thinking the same thing 😆
Alternatively, you could actually complete their questlines and probably end up with even more stuff.
I would rather do their questlines first. I just hope that most of them don't have to die for me to get their drip. It would be a nice change for once for most of the NPCs to survive for once.
@@anonisnoone6125 I'd wish the same but sadly this is a FromSoft game, arbitrary NPC deaths are part and parcel
Put some respect on THE GREAT KENNETH HAIGHT's name, and Nepheli based on your route they're both chilling in stormveil right now@@TheGraveKnight
Can't wait to see how wild the lore is gonna be with this dlc
No doubt it will answer some important questions 🙏
Not a fan of the cryptic story-telling, personally.
Ngl i forgot they're giving us the Crucible Knight wing attack. Looking forward to that
This is the first time i scheduled vacations for a DLC
Bro same. Hype is so real
Same here.
Same same
Lame. Use your vacations to travel. Games can't replicate real experiences.
@@BK-ob3lo Right, but there's no other experience like Elden Ring. You can dislike it but it's still gonna be umcomparable
1:29 I imagine chat was spamming "FEET" at this point.
I blame Tarantino for this.
@@V4Now miyakzaki is the tarantino of gaming
I expect nothing less of Max's chat lol
I just beat Mohg in new game plus so that I’m ready to enter the dlc. Fwi y’all to acces the dlc you need to get to mohg and defeat him, you go the cocoon of miquella and probably touch it
And Radahn, dont forget The red lion
@@sfwreaths1 Honestly, that's the most interesting detail from a lore standpoint. Beating Mohg makes obvious sense to access the DLC, but WHY do we need to also beat Radahn? This DLC must in some way relate to fate and the stars just like Ranni's quest line does, otherwise making Radahn a requirement would just be odd.
The eclipse miquella wanted to do a ritual for possibly Godwyn, didnt work because Radahn had control of the stars, is my head canon.@@TyrantWesker
@@HonestOpinions4u It really makes sense since correct me if I'm wrong but Malenia was going to kill Radahn for Miquella for similar reason? Maybe Miquella asked her to do it? Yet she failed to do it as we know.
@yuomovaeh3028 it's never stated why she fought him, but that or a similar reason is speculated to be the case.
Can’t wait for Elden Ring to be game of the year again
They give us a story trailer for a dlc, REALLY making it feel like a sequel, cant fucking wait
I haven't ever played Elden Ring but I'm hoping it goes on sale when when the DLC drops, then I'm going to play through the base game and instantly follow it up with the DLC.
Best Buy has it on sale for $40 right now
Strap in for a LOOOOOOONNNNGGGG playthrough! But one that is well worth the dedication.
I'd get started now, it takes a lot of time especially if you are busy.
It's soo worth it. Like OoT caliber.
Shadow of the Erdtree Edition is releasing at the same time which includes base game and DLC basically for the price of a new modern game
An incredible and beautiful cinematic trailer. Surprised they didn’t save this trailer for summerfest, unless they are something else to show this year. Or a another trailer for this dlc. Man frontsoftware you never cease to surprise us… looking forward to getting back to playing Elden ring after dark souls and bloodborne.
It’s comes out June 21st
I know
@@jkaep9009summerfest is on june 7th
Yeah Marika in the beginning standing in the portal made of the dead is like a Beksinski or Barlowe painting. Even more cinematic than most cinema
Band of the Hawk vibes strong with this one damn :0
What I always find incredible about Soulsborne DLC is their vision just becomes so much more pronounced.
You find the art direction and themes so strong and impressionable in the base game, sure. But then you go through the DLC where designs and presentation just transcend everything you could've expected in the game. They go so hard. I especially hope we get all the bells in the music. I love bells.
When the trailer says,
Seduction - Vag shot.
Born - Vag Shot.
I swear to god this is the fucking damn best thing that happened to gaming since Elden Ring.
Yall ready for the eclipse from berserk?? Gotta save guts and casca
So out of all the NPC's at the end who we killing for their armor first?
Yes
Yes
Eh, they'll die in the end anyway. Completing quests sometimes gives you unique rewards, and I don't want to risk missing out on that in a game that takes me 300 hours to beat.
@@chaoticstarfish3401 kill them first playthrough
Do quest second playthrough
@@akuma2916 Yeah, I used to do that too. Again though, this game is too big for me to forgo missable items-especially when the DLC is after Mohg, a late‐game boss.
For me it's the second one, the older, the gameplay trailer ... THAT is what gives me goosebumps! Every time I see it. 😃
They worked on the DLC during the development of the main game and yeah, the DLC will add lots to the world and lore of the game and it's gonna be huge. It has 30 sounds and all the NPCs in the trailer will probably have some sort of quests etc and there were never that many NPCs in a Fromsoftware DLC before.
ngl i think elden ring is mid. after bloodborne and sekiro, my expectations will be at that mark. elden ring felt like a DS4. had fun with it, and its still a good game. this dlc tho looks cool and will most likely raise the overall experience.
Unpopular opinion: but maybe we should just stick with ER as the definitive souls game. They can remake all the classic ones if you miss that version of the souls game, but they can just Xenoverse 2 this game forever. It never gets old, the world is continuously magical and each new expansion they can just expand the lore in game. Elden Ring: Forever. Yes do this Bamco 🙂↕️
Bloddborne no jutsu!!!! 😂😂😂
Marika be standing there holding those strands of golden between those mountains of corpses with her mountains out for the world😂😂
Her side boobs are missing though.
I seriously love listening to Max talk about games
Possibly, one of the greatest DLC to possibly one of the greatest games.
And without the "possibly" 🔥
There is no doubt it's in the top 5 greatest.
Ocarina of Time is the only game I'd put above it honestly because it's just so damn good for the time it came out, but yeah ER is up there with the prime Final Fantasies.
@@awtodorocarina of time is my #1 game of all time. I agree
what blows my mind is: Elden Ring, including the DLC, is just a "piece" of the full lore/story
we're either getting multiple S+ tier games of Elden Ring, with multiple gigantic dlcs, or never knowing the full story/world
i kinda like the idea of both
I can't wait till Max does a play through of this dlc ,I loved his old playthrough
5:46 sekiro was my first fromsoft game (bloodborne didn't catch on for me unfortutely). Sekiro's dlc was basically non-existent so I'm really excited for er's dlc
Oh man. FromSoft DLCs are incredible. Right up there as the greatest DLCs of all time. DS1's Artorias of the Abyss, DS2's Lost Crowns, DS3's Ringed City and Bloodborne's Old Hunters. All GOATED.
8:28 TORNAID!!!
Great example of what he talks about when he says fromssoftware is goated dlc a good dame to look at is bloodborne and ds3 those game are good but what makes them 10/10 is dlc
I didnt even consider Bloodborne a 10/10 until the DLC came out.
Miquela the Femboy ....
LETSGOO!!!
Really quick and Elden Ring. 100+ hours again here we come.
I'm SO PUMPED to create a martial artist build
From Soft knows how to cook, five star all around!
I‘m so hype, i Need that story , Played the Game 5 times with different builds and it is so good
Can the dlc be up for game of the year too LOL?
Gods damn man I truly think this might be the best firmsoft game ever it just blows everything out of the water and elden ring was bananas already incredible replay value
Knowing Miyazaki and his love for Berserk, all I can see with this trailer is "Oh God Griffith is assembling the band of the hawk"
I can already see that little shit sacrificing all of them to transform into some unholy monster.
I'm not the worst elden ring player but I already know that messmer is gonna hand me my ass 😂
6:44 Bandai Namco Mentioned
I've never seen a soul fan ever give Bandai credit for the souls game. I know they publish it, but they do help with other things
On the subject of reducing playthrough time, my first playthrough was somewhere between 120 to 150 hours.
My second playthrough was around 20 hours and my third playthrough was less than 10 hours, probably closer to 6.
While that’s obviously no record or anything, it does show that you can drastically drop your playtime depending on what you want to do in game.
Miazaki is turning from fire worshiper to a devoted Christian ?
This is gonna be lit, my dudes. It's goin to drop on my vacation. Can't f*ckin' wait.
I booked a week off specifically for this shit i can't wait lol
Im gonna be on traveling overseas rip. Gonna try my best to avoid spoielrs
I wouldn’t say sequel, but a big spin off, I mean that as praise for FromSoft. Because if they do ever make an Elden Ring sequel, it’ll be MUCH bigger.
Aged well
This gave me ghoosebumps and tears so epic! Imagine at the very end it show malenia riding torrent 😅
This shit feels hella like Berserk
Definitely
Miquella giving serious Griffith vibes
Marika is giving the real Griffith vibes. She apparently betrayed and sacrificed something in order to become a god.
But also its true that we don't know Miquella's full intentions yet.
@@yuomovaeh3028 all I’m saying is everyone is glazing miquella and an item description in Elden ring said miquella has learned how to use his affection or something like that, AND he has a group, you could even say a BAND, of people following him. This is a souls game. I don’t think just hearing that a character is good makes him good.
@@greylaw2546 You make a point. Griffith did have those qualities as well.
I think you're right. I think it'll be at least half as big as the base game was. FromSoft seem to care about delivering the best experience and I'll spend however much money I need to spend to experience it. Also, Miquella is gonna be the Big Bad, not Messmer. Just my prediction. Unless, I, a Tarnished, choose to be the Big Bad. I dunno. I can barely keep my pants on waiting for this gd DLC.
I just wish they would include these cutscenes in the actual game. Like when talking to a character or something, they would tell the story to set you up, like the trailer.
The cinematics are great, but the whole point of FromSoftware's games is that they don't tell us the story, we need to discover ourselves. Maybe they can do that in a future title that is not "soulslike"
@Leo_Carrilo I'm talking about the trailer cinematic, which everyone has seen. I'm not asking for like 20 cutscenes or nothing, lol. I like the style of fromsoft games, but I don't think including 1 cinematic we all seen anyway is going to hurt anything. It's just really bad ass.
@@nathanb5579 oh, sorry, I misunderstood. Yeah, it would be cool, the same way we have the opening cinematic for the main game
Looks like the DLC will have us literally following in Miquella's footsteps, and we'll run into others who are doing the same. It looks like warriors from all over the world, not just the Lands Between, are in search of Miquella. Hopefully we don't kill him but instead help him bring the Lands Between back to glory.
Question is, should i start a brand new campaign or carry on from my completed previous Playthrough
as a fan of asian videogames and great games in general, play Stellar Blade cause trust, boobage is the least the games about, it's phenomonal
"I'm calling it now. This is practically a sequel" yea i said that nearly a year ago, they literally had the game engine and so much of the game such as many assets etc already done and it still took multiple years to make a dlc?
Give me more Malenia type boss in DLC....
*GIVE ME THE PAIN*
Man I’ve never seen a UA-camr age so gracefully, still looking healthy and giving off the brilliant vibes, long Lucius locks still perfectly placed, rock on dude, best channel going
Anyone who thinks this will be an under 15-20 hour experience there is over 30 songs in the ost more then all of ds3.. it’s going to be HUGE
I'm not used to hopeful and heroic music from a fromsoft game. This is getting me even more excited for this dlc
Did you see the second form image of the lion head Boss supposedly don’t quote me lol in DLC it looks wicked like they took all the creepiest parts of the 1st Elden Ring and grafted them together.
I would love to see Max do a dual-blade run. I know how much he loved that weapon in DS2. It's actually very fun in ER. In fact I dont remember him getting Eleanor's Polesword in his 1st playthrough. So it might be fun?
Good Reaction Video Max.
This Elden Ring DLC looks badass.
When it comes too Souls Games, i've gotta be in the mood too Play one, it could be several Years after Relaease before i get into them.
I'm more excited abt dlc of a 2 year old game i still play periodically than any new actuall AAA games
This trailer felt like it took vibes from Dark Souls 3. Even the music sounded like something you'd hear from Dark Souls 3. The original trailer for Elden Ring didn't have such a theme.
Prioritize? Bro its all the good shit.
I used rapiers, the axe from the guy from the beginning, the bleed staff and the nerfed sword of night and flame. I’m for sure using the first weapon I get in the dlc
For all of you newer fans who’s first fromsoft game was Elden Ring……..you are about to find out why this fan base gets so hyped for expansions. They take an already great base game and somehow end up making the expansions 10 times greater! Fromsoft is how every game company should treat dlc/expansions! The only difference compared to past titles is ER being open world so this will obviously be the biggest one yet!
I can’t wait to get two tapped from the
Gruntiest Grunt in this dlc let’s fucking go
Rumours are 70 hours for the DLC right now
The several tarnished players together at the end, I hope there is real co-op now (not convoluted to join a friend and persistent after bosses). Crossplay too would be brilliant.
And they didn't quite spend 2 years on this, Fromsoft has legal issues to tend to with becoming a self publisher from what I understand.
There were no legal issues, stop spreading misinformation.
apparently news came out and this is not ELDEN RING 2. this is just ELDEN RING COMPLETE. that's crazy.
When I first played Dark Souls 1 I was really pissed off at how slow everything felt especially since I started with Elden Ring, and then Bloodborne. To add to this frustration, the DLC added 4 new bosses, 3 of which were lightning fast in their attacks and movements. I was so tilted I had to play a new playthrough if Bloodborne before coming back and finally beating Manus and then Kalamut. But nevertheless, I did have fun.
We are absolutely blessed to have fromsoftware in our lives
Can't wait for DLC to drop and confirm that Miquella truly was benevolent and altruistic and not a manipulative narcissist bent on world domination, would love to see the reaction to all these "Miquella is Griffith" mfs.
yes, that would be a real twist
The only disappointing DLC that ever came out for a Souls game from Fromsoft was Ashes of Ariandel.
I think the reason they took this much time on the dlc is because they were developing AC6, normally they don't have another full release in between a base game and it's expansion.
Nah, seperate team
Well he wasn't wrong took me 40~ hours to finish it now I just need a mod to let me access it earlier so I can use all those crazy new weapons in the base game.
The story stuff does look really good but I seriously hope they get their shit together for the bosses because 90% of Elden Ring's boss fights are dogshit for one reason or another.
This is basically a new game lol. Insane we still have fromsoftware in this day of big studios going bad
Hopefully from software never sells out to a investment firm or other big company
This is what tears of the kingdom shoulda done but they sold it as a sequel. It was on par with DLC too me
Looking back at the trailer now that we know more of the lore involved is kinda wild.
