  • They dedicate their lives to helping orphaned animals. They open their hearts and homes to all the challenges of raising a young life - no matter how large or small. They are the Wildlife Nannies!
In this episode: In South Africa, 76-yr. old Rita Miljo is raising the tiny baboon baby Rosie as if it were her own. As Rosie grows bigger and stronger, Rita takes her to a “baboon kindergarten”, where she is to form a new troop with others. We also witness Rita and her team releasing a troop of grown baboons into the wild.
Wombat Baby Mater: Shaun Douglas of “Something Wild Wildlife Sanctuary” in Tasmania has become a surrogate “mom” to the tiny wombat Mater. As little wombats cling to their mothers for many months in their early lives, Shaun takes Mater with him wherever he goes - even to the shower and to bed!
