Persimmons aren't common in Pennsylvania, but, growing up my parents had two in a corner part of their yard. Nobody has a clue how they got there as they are the only two I've ever seen. Deer would eat the persimmons, but only the ones that fell when I wasn't around to find them. They have an awesome flavor.
