You may be pleased to know that there is Hawaiian history in the area near the place this group is from. The Fort Langley and Maple Ridge areas were settled by Hawaiians in the mid 1800s. At one time Maple Ridge even had a Hawaiian mayor. The place names of the area still reflect the Hawaiian part of its history...Kanaka Creek, and Kanaka Creek Park.
