Hi, Thank you so much for sharing. Please, where can I get the music sheets please, of the first suit in d minor? (if you have a website where I can buy it, thank you very much)
FYI the cover art is one of many "fêtes galantes" paintings that were popular in early 18th century France, celebrating a romanticized enjoyment of nature, myth, and luxury. Of course, this type of leisurely activity was mostly supported by the well-heeled who could participate in these parties or purchase paintings such as this one! This particular painting is by one of the major painters of this time and genre, Antoine Watteau.
Imagine - this is the first time I hear from this composer, and as far as I can judge he ranks among the great! So I'm sort of stupefied - in a pleasant way... Thanks again, Brilliant Classics!!
Amazingly beautiful, fun, inventive music! Why isn't this composer as famous and popular as the other great Baroque composers? I thoroughly enjoy every piece of this recording. A truly masterful performance! Thank you for creating and sharing this video.
This has a major dominance and it is entirely about positive feelings of the harpsichord : joy, illumination from the divinity in finding something new, pleasurable and sensual and intellectual activities, joy of living, preparations for the Christmas, empathy and understanding in all domains of study and life. Merry Christmas!

It's been in my lifetime--for the most part--that the harpsichord has made a comeback, along with the older music, tonality and instruments. Thank heavens! Let's have a moment of silence for Wanda Landowska who helped make it happen.
This sounds like an instrument from her revival period rather than the more recent historical reconstructions, I didn’t see any references to the instrument used in the recording, I’m just wondering…
Wooow, what a collection! Superb music, excellent performance, thank you! It would be neat though if you put all of the track list in the description, it makes the navigation and track recognition far easier.
Thank you for your discovery of this superb classical masterpiece. It is a dream to be listening until the end. You really deserve your place in the Musical Scene and I am grateful to UA-cam for your achievenent (Iknow I am choosy and I may not always appreciate your choices, but you'll certainly hear from me). Hi,
Thank you so much for sharing.
Please, where can I get the music sheets please, of the first suit in d minor? (if you have a website where I can buy it, thank you very much)
@@PearlofG , IMSLP.
To long, please cut it in two parts
hapischords are criminally underappreciated. They sound so...ah, good.
People easily underestimate the harpsichord's expressive capacity. In the right hands it can express what a piano cannot and vice versa.
I hate it when people use a piano to play a piece written for Harpsichord! RRAAAGHHH! - Pushes over piano
Indeed

Not Watteau, a contemporary called Fragonard. The painting is called “A Game of Hot Cockles”. I didn’t know this without a reverse google image search
but no cure for any illness.life was short.enjoy it.
I need one of you for every classical music video with a painting for a thumbnail. Thanks a ton for the info on the painting!
