The Tour for All professional racing series will open a month-long charity fundraising initiative that will see Zwift donate a total of $125,000 to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and its COVID-19 crisis fund. An additional $125,000 can be unlocked once 250,000 people complete a stage of the Tour for All. The professional racing series is designed to showcase the mass-participation stages and encourage Zwifters to take part by riding some of the same courses that the pros have raced.
As such, the main focus for the race series is to deliver fun - both for the teams and riders competing, and for cycling fans at home. Zwift racing is a discipline in its own right and will be a new experience for many of the riders competing. Races will experience the drafting benefits of following other riders, and will feel the same changes in gradient and terrain as they would out on the road. However, Zwift’s gamification, designed to make indoor riding more fun, a new understanding of race tactics thanks to Zwift’s PowerUps. PowerUps deliver a range of small advantages that, when used at the right time, can help shape the race.

wouldnt mind the highlights to be at 6-8 mins with who is participating, stage profile, and the favorites
We have some longer form highlights available to watch for free in the GCN App, and we're posting the start lists every morning on social media :)
Good Job James Piccoli ! Right after a "few" HUNDRED climb of Montreal main climb Camilien-Houde last week-end to raise money ! Impressive work !
Yours Truly yeah in their last GCN racing vidéo they quickly did
Yeah, over 12000 m of climbing in 14 hours. I
Great coverage for all three stages so far! Very well done!
Thanks Mitch
Brilliant racing! i am loving this eSports Cycling format :D
Glad you enjoy it Daniel
Loving this E-racing, I hope it continues along side road racing going forward...
Thanks Travis, we're not sure about the next one with the season still 2 months away, it sounds like more could happen
This really is fun to watch! I wonder what the pros and teams think? Do they dismiss some unexpected results because this is a "video game" or are we seeing some new names that have real talent?
I believe this particular 'race' is comprised of pros and pro-teams, with the exception of a couple junior teams to fill out the ranks. So far, many of them are reacting favorably (look up their respective channels) unless you are Peter Sagan. He made fun of it...but then mysteriously changed his tone and now is on-board with virtual cycling. ;)
Thanks Scott, a lot of teams are treating this as seriously as they would any other race because it is one of the few venues for competition right now, and that is fantastic to see because it helps with the overall level of racing.
Louis vervaeke is on fire 💥💥💥
You weren't looking so bad yourself, Victor! Dan
The power-ups make this an absolute farce 😂
Or do they make it more unpredictable?
@@gcnracing This must be the TUE of virtual racing
Which team do you think will win tomorrow's flat sprint stage?
Cervelo Test Team
If they were riding, Dan would have crashed already ;)
I actually enjoyed watching this! Commentary was great and added to the professional feeling of it all. The cut-aways to the actual riders were a great inclusion as well. Would LOVE to see this as a fun or semi-serious event hosted by GCN and their partners. What a great intro for the ground-breaking opportunity of e-Cycling/e-Racing! (But, please comb the hair - come on now.)
Hahaha we can't promise the hair will be brushed, but thank you for all the support!
Those are some new names
I think this form of racing is great given the current situation, but the points need to be more heavily distributed towards the stage winner. Probably using the same point system as formula 1 would be best. In the future I think this could form a great platform for talent identification
That's an interesting point Josse, it's definitely something that race oganisers will be looking at over the coming weeks for future virtual races.
SA rocks!
I'm really getting into this, anybody else think this could be apart of the world tour pre-season?
Great to hear thanks Matthew, and yes the UCI is certainly keeping an eye on virtual racing for the future, they already have a category for it at the World Championships this year, so it could get even bigger
Not sure what you mean as part of Uci World Tour... I personally think it is a great training tool for wet days or coming back from injuries... However the large majority of training for World Tour needs to be done on road... The skill set needed to ride Zwift is about 10% of what is needed for road racing... I wouldn't watch Pros sit on stationary bikes riding a fantasy course... I would rather see them riding in France Spain and Italy... The scenery is a large part of why the multi media audiences has grown over the last 2 decades... There is no way the UCI is going to interfere with a winning formula... If it ain't broke...
@@gcnracing lets hope it continues 👍
@@fernandovillarreal4982 thank you for the comment
I think it would be a great addition to the pre-season in November/December when the weather is awful and there is no outside racing
It would hopeful add some competitiveness for the pros in the off season and keep the fans engaged whilst the weather takes a turn for the worst (in the northern hemisphere any way)
Just a thought as a race hungry fan
@@matthewlott5148 fair call mate... Hopefully we'll be racing soonish.
Just some food for thought and hopefully those that made these broadcast/format/distribution decisions, will consider in the future... Considering I live in California and that I choose not to pay twice for a VPN and Eurosport... I absolutely hate the idea that I am forced to watch the Zwift race on my apple device, instead of being able to watch it on my TV from the GCN You Tube portals. I am sure this limitation has something to do with Eurosports exclusivity agreement with Zwift or the teams and or GCN.. But basically this sucks and so far, I have only watched one full race on the iphone and the rest as just highlights on the you tube channel. Zwift, GCN and Eurosport are shooting themselves in the foot on this decision.
Thanks for the feedback Jeff, the app does cast to larger screens which should help, and we do have the plan to make it desktop/web player compatible too, but we're trying to make an app that will allow as many people as possible to watch the races no matter where they are in the world and give the best possible viewing experience, we're not there yet as it's a lot of work but we will be one day and you will find it much better to use
@@gcnracing Thank you for the considerate and informative reply. I have always been and always will be a GCN fan. Looking forward to using the app on the PC in the future.
@@gcnracing I tried everything to stream the GCN app to my tv in the pain cave so I can watch and pedal on Zwift, and my 2015 sony tv is not compatible with any options. Today, I was planning on pedaling on zwift while watching the GCN Giro classics.. And I am surprised to find that the I have to once again, watch from my iphone on the GCN app.. One less viewer that you will have this broadcast. I believe your attempt to push everything on to the GCN app is way too premature and you should give us the option to view on your You Tube Portal.
Would be great to put the team results up in the highlights, as it is a team competition.
Hmm good point Jacob, we'll see what we can do
This video was made by the no background music gang
2:13 It's funny that in Zwift there're only white etchnic profiles, Dlamini has to settle with that. As Asian I found it amusing as well, yes Eric Min, how could you not do anything?
What are you talking about, skin color ranges from light to very dark.
Diamini looking pale.
Nice results show, not much in the way of highlights. Very dissapointing considering that people who are still working don't get to see the race live and Eurosport can't be bothered to show a repeat of what is new content, prefering to to show more regurgitated sport from 2 years ago.
Thanks for the feedback Foydie, the race is available to watch in the App on demand, and there are also extended highlights available also for free on the GCN app :)
