Mel seems very calm and soft spoken, yet PASSIONATE when she looks at her family. I know we praise Mo a lot, ,but Mel, sweetie, I don't even know you but you are a force and a wonderful mommy and wife.
Child birth is very hard and draining on the mind and body. I was in labor with my last child for 48 hrs do I completely understand what you experienced. Mo you did an amazing job during the delivery my hat goes off too you your a wonderful mother and Cairo was worth all the pain he is gorgeous 😍🙏🏾
You guys are so blessed. I just found your vlog last week. I know Christ was watching over the family. Cairo was destined to be here. I send you healing by his stripes.
Girl I did it 3 times, yes it is the worse physical pain in the universe, you were a Rockstar 🤗💜❤disproportionately black women are treated badly in the hospital. Absolutely no way they should have endangered your pressure and baby's heart rate by letting it go that long.24 hours??? Absolutely ridiculous. C section should have been done?! So sorry you went through that situation😢 But...what a beautiful blessing your son Cairo
One thing you could try - to help Cairo go to sleep, is to put him in his pram and push it backwards and forwards across a rolled up towel on the floor. I know this probably sounds weird, but it really does work! You shouldn’t go mad at it, but just roll it over the towel, (then continue on for a couple of feet if you want to), in a regular, slowish way. Just try it. Don’t have a huge bump of towel so that he’s really jolted though, he just needs to be able to feel the gentle bump. An alternative is to put him in the car and just drive around with him! The joys of parenthood!! Congratulations!
I’ve never commented on a video before but l just have to say what a wonderful job you guys did on your first child! I was watching and praying for you the whole time. Mel you were a warrior! I’m a nurse and I’ve never seen a mom go through the labor you went through.I felt good vibes just watching Mo taking care of you,waiting patiently for Cairo.Having your mom there for both of you is also a blessing.
You guys will get into a routine soon and it will get easier, I promise. I also like the fact that you guys are playful and prayerful on camera.

Childbirth can be so traumatic for real! So sorry you had such a rough time. God watched over you and baby and I’m so glad to see how blessed the two of you are! Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy!
You guys are doing great!! Please don’t be hard on yourselves because you are first time parents and you learn day by day. I’m just glad your delivery went well and you and Cairo are healthy. Moe and Gigi are a wonderful support system and yes that’s a BLESSING not luck.

I begged for a C- section also! Second baby the epidural failed=natural birth. And for me, the pain felt like the closest thing to death. Every woman has a different level of pain. I don’t think it’s all about “tolerance” either.
Anyway, praise God you got through the journey. You’re very blessed.

It’s crazy, I’m a mom of an 11 yr old & the sickness & pain I can’t take it anymore so that’s why he is my only & last. In labor for 3dys not dilating & exhausted AF/ delirious.
I went into labor on a Monday (went to book and the doctor heard an irregular heart beat etc...found out I was already in labor), and had to have an emergency C-section on Wednesday (that far away) at about 6 am (I remember just thinking the pain was too much so if it is death I am ready to go) ...my son was born at 7 am (I got the drugs too and did not move from 3 cm dilation) no family member etc. was there (they had no idea I was going through all this) just the medical team. But GOD had other plans. He has the final say. I am grateful...May 30th, he will be 9 years old (but it is still very vivid).

Hold on girl. You were brave enough to get the damn epidural and it failed? NO NO NO! I had 2 kids and I was more afraid of the needle in my spine than the contractions. So I gave birth without the epidural. Let me just say that, that pain was so bad until I literally moved my mind to another dimension. I have to give you a standing ovation for the 2nd attempt. I hope your husband realizes how brave you were to let them try again. Clap clap clap clap. Well done
They shouldn't have forced you to go into full labor if you were having such a hard time dilating.I had the same experience with my first baby, its too much stress and dangerous for mother and child, especially with you being diagnosed with preeclampsia.You were at very high risk of strokes, blood clothes or organs failing. Thank God I had a doctor that realized that it was too much for me and my child and scheduled a cesarean section after hours of trying to dilate and stopped my suffering and put both of us out of danger.I am so glad God answered y'all prayers and watched over you and your handsome little boy.BLESSINGS!

Mel and Mo congrats on you guys bundle of joy! You two will make great parents. Dont stress pity situations. Just go with the flow. Baby wipe warmer is a necessity. Babies do not like to feel anything cold on their bottom. For example... if you're sleeping you wouldn't want someone to putting a cold towel on your face. Another necessity, every new parents needs an electrical booger suction!..you want go wrong investing in one. Again congrats!!! I love the name Cairo!
You are both doing exactly as you should. You are in the first part of postpartum.Third day blues with extension so try to give each other time. When one sleeps the other is awake. At night decide who is going to do 10 PM or 2 AM unless you are breastfeeding. My husband changed the baby then bring her to me. I am so happy you are so supportive of each other. In another 2 months you will have a routine and that's when things get easier as it prepares you for the next phase.
Straight up, you are blessed. And your family are blessed. Luck is for people who don't believe in God. May God continue to pour out His love and blessings upon your family as you continue to trust in him. Loved your husband prayers during delivery. Keep the faith.

I'm a mom of 3, with each of their final weight increased per child from 6lbs to almost 9lbs! I definitely felt your pain of tearing and I can't imagine the feeling of having 2 epidurals that didn't work. May the Lord continue to heal you and give you both peace during the process of parenting and recovery. One day you'll look back fondly at the baby moments when your boy is almost going into high school and becoming an adult 💜

It was a trying time for both of you. It was a stressful time for you in the process of your childbirth. Thank God for your support system as you prevailed to complete the journey of Cairo's appearance on this side. All that you have experienced and will experience did not catch God by surprise. You have both shown that your faith is not shaken in your quest to allow God to be in the driver's seat in your lives. May God continue to bless and shower you with His goodness and mercy.
