Surely the lift and drag isn't for the wing, it's for the 'surrounding wall' i.e. the outer boundaries of the fluid domain. Wouldn't you have to name the wing during the meshing process? Also for accurate lift/drag forces, Cl & Cd you must enter values into 'Reference Values', including the projected area i.e. lift surface. This can be found in reports. Just my two cents worth. Thanks for taking the time to produce this tutorial as it really helped me get started with ANSYS/Fluent.
Dear it was one of the best videos ,easy n informative one.... But kindly if you can explain that how we can plot Cd and Cl against various angle of attack. As i am conducting research on airfoil at various angle of attack so i need plotting of Cd and Cl VS Angle of attack. Also how to show the airfoil profile clear n solid. Thanks Regards Umair Ali Mechanical Engineer CECOS University
Hey! I have been seen yoir tutorials.. I am doing a CFD study from a wing and I want to create differents enclosures by zones... would you recommend any way to do it? Because I get boxes and the wing but not interssection of them...
Hi, your video is awesome because it shows clearly step by step. May I know how if I want to make it 2D analysis. I made a 3D geometry of a fluidized bed. and then i imported into ansys fluent. I take the mid plane (I believe this only can be done when the analysis type is in 3D), and then I proceed with meshing. I feel the whole step is wrong because my scoep is to make a 2D simulation. Should I proceed with mid plane or use the CONCEPT->surfaces from sketch? Really appreciate if you can give me some guide here. Thank you.
thank you for the tutorial accually I had a problem: when I completed the meshing and proceded to the setup an error accured : folder fff.1.msh not found. could you please give me some help thanx
CFD Made Easy Hi this tutorials was a good initiation thx for share but if we wd like having surface repartition of pressure value in a file in ordre to use them on abaqus how would we proceed thx in advance

Great tutorial, not too lengthy. Thank you!
How do you save the .dat files on that website as .igs files?
thank you for the tutorial

cl of 200.000 ? and cd near 1000.000? these values are not really good man!
hello aleix, this tutor is aimed at providing only the procedure for solving problem.
