So, since McFly got traded from White 2 to White, and then from White to White 2, does that mean he went back to the future from Pokemon White's perspective?
The fact that the doctor was still willing to heal your Pokémon despite you being on opposing sides reminds me of a beautiful line from “A Chansey Operation”: to a doctor a patient is a patient; there’s no such thing as good guys or bad guys. A doctor’s job is to heal, not to judge
That Purrloin was also gifted to his sister by their late granddad. It clearly has a lot of emotional and sentimental significance to the both of them. You can't just replace that. The meaning in it would be lost.
The difference between getting a Purrloin as a gift from your late grandpa and just getting another Purrloin. Put it simply it's not the same. Zinzolin may not care too much about something so trivial but for Elly, it was her first Pokemon that she ever had and having that stolen from her tore her heart as did Hugh who grew vengeful because of it and their family who were disheartened seeing their daughter depressed. It's sentiment Sage Rood tried to convince members of Team Neo Plasma to stand down telling them Ghetsis's ambitions isn't worth it not realizing those who still remained with Ghetsis were the real fanatics that didn't care for N's aspirations.
About the Typhoon dilemma, its not only about the Purrloin alone. Its that its a last memento from his late grandpa to her sister. It may as well be his last gift to her. That makes it so much more special...
I gotta say I love the idea of Blaise havinga Braviary that she caught for utility purposes and just treats like a loyal pet outside of her team. I like to think his role in more akin to Miraidon and koraidon in Scar/Vio; doesn't battle, is more of a ride than anything, but gets the same amount of affection as her core fighters nonetheless.
I may be late, since I'm just now catching up with the series, but this is an underrated comment. My perspective on HM Slaves has been forever changed, thank you!
5:30 I completely got it my first playthrough, having grown up with cats my whole life. About a year and a few months after this game came out, we adopted two black cats at 6 months old, one male, one female. We also had another one at home, who was 9. All three of them were indeed fairly different in personality (We had two others with different colorings that too were also quite different).
Rood is such an interesting Character. I like the dichotomy of him and Zinzolin. And the interactions with him and Typhoon are always really fun to see how Rood realizes just how much damage was caused, and Typhoon's growth to seeing that there were people who actually were trying to do good in Team Plasma and now atone for their sins. There's a particular scene in Adventures with Rood that is somewhat based on the dialogue in this episode. It is a small moment, and I don't want to go too into it cause I want people to see it themselves, but it's one of the saddest scenes in all of the arcs in my opinion.
Of course, something I also would've wish for the Ex-Team Plasma members is to at least have them remove their emblems to show their "atonement" of breaking away from Ghetsis' goals.
I honestly like that they keep the outfits, cause it shows they aren't running away from that. It is a case of "We did this, we are trying to atone now."@@Loner098
It's particularly ironic that there is a dichotomy at all given their names (at least, in English). "Rood" means "red" in Dutch, and "Zinzolin" is a French word referring to "Reddish-Purple." They only difference between them is a few shades of blue... so perhaps we could have avoided this if someone else was sent to the cold storage. This doesn't work in Japanese, though, as Zinzolin's name is "Vio" (from "Violet") there.
The other thing with Typhoon and the Purrloin was something mentioned last episode: it was a gift from their grandfather that passed away. There’s an added level of sentimentality to that Purrloin specifically, too
At last, the team is fully evolved and McFly is here to kick some serious ass now. Electivire is a pretty cool Pokémon, and the anime helped its reputation a lot. Another fun tidbit about the Vanilite line (which I may be misremembering so pls feel free to correct me lol), it was among the first Pokemon to be designed by a non-Japanese developer, British artist James Turner. Since gen 5 would also be the first games taking place in a non-Japanese based region, a lot of the Pokemon took inspiration from foreign things, including small day-to-day things. Turner apparently drew on his nostalgia for 99 cones - a simple soft-serve ice cream with a Cadbury Flake stuck in it, named because it famously only cost 99 pence (the price has gone up because of inflation ofc, but they're still called 99s). They're a staple of UK summer, and I think most anyone who grew up here has some level of nostalgia for them. I can totally understand people who dislike the Vanilite line's designs, but I've got a real soft spot for 'em because of that story. 🍦❤
This is easily one of my favorite climaxes in the Pokémon series. You really get a sense that the fate of Unova rests on you defeating Team Plasma. Like with their warship, they feel less like an evil Team and more like a conquering army.
The theme for the giant chasm is always so beautiful, I know it’s the same theme for the celestial tower and the dragon spiral tower but when you’re here it at the giant chasm, it has a certain aura of, well, loneliness, bitter, cold, and emptiness.
i’m a massive fan of Electivire, so seeing him get used here is a real treat, but also seeing him in Legends: Arceus was also really cool too, but a bit scary lmao.
At long last, we have a fully evolved team! Electivire was a much needed evolution to turn that family from a decent Electric type to a beast. And I get the feeling McFly is gonna come in handy for some really important battles coming up soon!
Man, nobody talks about how much of a banger the Plasma ships theme song is! I've never sat down and listened to it before and it's amazing! And in both visits, the puzzles are completely different between Black 2 and White 2. They put so much effort I never even notcied until now into Gen 5. I'm so glad to finally evolve Sunny into a Magmortar. He was starting to lag behind my party and now he's my toughest special attacker with Flamethrower and Psychic.
I like to imagine in universe, when chugga said "lets do this" baize hopped down into the chasm, riding down on jade in the middle of that cutscene. Kinda a cool image, not gonna lie
Ngl, Electivire has been one of my personal favorite pokemon when I brought it to demolish the pokemon league in my Pokemon Platinum Nuzlocke, and seeing Chugga use one is honestly really nice!
Onwards, to the Giant Chasm! This is such a cool place, and a very fitting setting for our climax. There's an eerie, uneasy feeling to the crater, especially the fogbound forest within. It may not be as epic as the previous games castle, this unsettling, forgotten forest has its own charms. There is a monster here, and it's waiting for its prey, just as the legend of Lacunosa told us. We're finally here. Let's put a stop to Team Plazma's icy ambitions. Dividing the Plasma Frigate into two parts certainly helps it stand out amongst the other evil team hideouts. This second visit consists mostly of this annoying, yet simple puzzle, and it really just feels like they added it so that they could stretch out to the climax a bit more. Giant Chasm was never designed to be a proper dungeon, and the Plasma Frigate helps add a bit more substance to the final battles.
I think I brought it up before but I’d love for a Pokemon game to have its villain plot be essentially Team Star vs Neo Team Plasma/Team Flare/Team Galactic. Basically leading a group of delinquents against a criminal organization.
I always found Hugh/Typhoon to be a good rival, I didn’t understand. Even the people who say that it doesn’t matter as much to them cuz it’s his sister we don’t know’s and not his… as an older sibling, I totally got it. You would do anything for your little sibling who lost something so special, especially with that much of an age gap. You feel responsible for them. I just never got it. He’s got a purpose and he’s not really that nice, so idk why so many people hate him and think of him as another boring nice rival.
i get why Typhoon is so attached to his sister's Purrlion - but also, come on. You can't walk up to Plasma grunts and expect them to remember a SINGLE purrlion they stole from a specific town multiple years ago. They're way too common.
Another problem I found with Hugh is what he's fighting for. Yes, desiring to become strong to rescue his little sister's Purrloin is a motivation that makes sense, but that just kinda ends up being his whole personality at the end of the day. This seemingly prevents any possible character growth in comparison to other Pokemon rivals like Silver, Wally, or even Bianca.
@@Loner098hell the fact that it was his SISTER’S Pokémon. The rival’s sister lacks a unique sprite or a even name yet the game expects us to be invested in her character. Why not make it so the Pokémon belonged to Hugh/Typhoon?
@skibot9974 According to Hugh, the Purrloin was also his late grandpa's that he gave to Hugh's sister. And to add on to sprites in this game, even Hugh's parents have somewhat generic NPC models. They could've at least given one of his parents' blue hair.
I've had a personal headcanon where Hilbert/Hilda's story ends at Kyurem, and they never catch it. Kyurem freezes them until Nate/Rosa comes along to free them, and thats why the B/W protagonists are gone after their games events
So a couple years ago we got a cat for the first time, being a dog family before. She had kittens and we kept 2 of them, and they were amazing and we fell in love with them. They were playful, affectionate, funny. Well one of them came one day after something had happened to it (probably got hit by car) barely alive and it died the next day. Was the first time I had ever watched something I cared about die right in front of me and it broke me for months. And as you said simply replacing him with another cat didn't fix that really. His brother is still with us and I love him to death, and I have become super protective of my cats since then. If someone or a group stole your pet, of course would hate them. Hugh can sound a bit cringe at times, but his motivation is completely justified.
Well Chugga there are good and bad things about having a brilliant memory, the positives is what you said, the negatives are that painful memories will stay with you and with someone like me who has Autism, when a memory that is emotionally painful to me reappears it will Never fade away and it will continue to impair you consistently, I have had 2 panic attacks when several memories of depressive content just kept appearing and appearing over and over again, my brain felt like it was ripping itself apart.
Chugga’s team has represented all 5 regions up to this point (counting pre-evolutions too): Kanto: Eevee, Vaporeon, and Electabuzz Johto: Elekid Hoenn: Trapinch, Vibrava, and Flygon Sinnoh: Electivire Unova: Tepig, Pignite, Emboar, Sigilyph, and Crustle
I don’t blame you for not stopping here. This story section is quite possibly the best story section in the entire game. And let me tell you, it gets better later on. We've only just gotten started.
Emile: trying to justify trading to Team Plasma as a way pokemon are tools Mcfly: Blaise didn't want me! I'm pissed! *Evolves out of emotional distress like a super saiyan* He evolved but at what emotional cost? 😂
My personal head canon with trade evolutions is that the pokemon traded away get so upset that their trainer is saying goodbye that they force a change on their bodies so their original trainer will come back for them.
Been a subscriber for 9 years, played along side you growing up for many of favourite games, like leafgreen, pearl, windwaker, paper Mario 1000 year door and more, tuned in randomly and it’s great to see you still doing your thing!
Fun fact: you can use dig in the Plasma Frigate here, and if you do you end up completely outside the Giant Chasm either on route 22 or route 13. Anyone else *dig* cool little details like that? (I learned that by accident...)
Speedrunners use the route 13 exit, then escape rope to it after beating Ghetsis. They don’t dig cuz they taught over it for earthquake on their Excadrill
Ghetsis, the man who comes from Venice, does tennis with a lettuce, and commonly referred to as Dennis, is so close that I can sense his evilness through the walls of the Plazma Frigate itself.
I keep forgetting to this helpful tip I think it’s in this generation if you have a poison type Pokémon use the move toxic then the move will never miss
Making a Pokémon whose only move is Take Down have the same catch rate as Legendary Pokémon is so evil that I can't help but laugh. I was genuinely shocked when I learned that Take Down got swapped to Tackle as of Sword and Shield's DLC-apparently even GameFreak realized that a Pokémon with a catch rate of 3 that is always hurting itself is a little too mean since they put it in an area with Hail
Electivire is one of my favorite Pokemon and it was the tipping point for me to finally get back into Pokemon during my middle and high school break from the games. It just looks so cool and powerful. Congrats McFly on such a fly evolution!
God I love Electivire. He's my favorite Electric type, and I love how radical his appearance change is. Some people say he's ugly. i say he's an acquired taste
@@MidoseitoAkage This would have been a welcome change for typing, but Motor Drive definitely helps with the Speed drop. I would have appreciated a signature move that used his tails and was the same power as T-Bolt. Maybe gets stronger if motor Drive was activated on the switch, removing the buff if Electivire switches out.
Chugga saying the chances on the grottos being garbage reminded me of how i wanted to get a Venomoth for my team when playing White 2... and quickly cancelling those plans seeing that not only it's post-game, but it only appears in a very specific hidden grotto AND it's chance of appearing is 4%! Would be funny to see Chugga go on a rant about it
Alright everyone, buckle up, and for that matter bundle up, because the grand final battle against Team Plasma has began. Good thing Mcfly has bulked up.
With McFly travelling through time, it's time to storm the Plasma Frigate... again! 9:24 H.Ability Spheal bio (he does not know about love) 9:32 H.Ability Drifloon bio (Special Guts!) 18:15 Clefairy and Clefable bio (MAGIC GUARD TANK!) 19:15 Sneasel bio (The glass cannon! Or rather, ice cannon) 19:56 Piloswine bio (The... ice tank? Huh) 20:45 Vanillish and Vanilluxe bio (An ice cream! And then a double face ice cream!) 22:07 Ditto bio (why here of all places...? Though I guess that can go for any of Ditto's locations) 23:29 Metang bio (a really good mon... if you can catch it) 24:33 Oh Mamoswine is here too
The rivals speach to ex Team Plasma made me think of Android 16's speech to Gohan in DBZA it's funny that an abridged show on the internet years ago had a better speech than Pokemon
Another fun fact: there’s differences in the Plasma Frigate between both versions! In Black 2, the puzzles you do are switched, with the warp puzzle being first and the password puzzle being second.
My problem I've always had with Typhoon/Hugh's anger is that it feels less impactful than it should've been. His sister's Pokemon being stolen is a very reasonable thing to be so mad about... *but*, she's so terribly underdeveloped to the point that she has no name. This could've been much better done if the Purrloin was just his. Also the payoff is kinda... bad. It's just sorta solved and it's not particularly satisfying.
I'm here to once again point out and hope that chugga sees me point out that harmony's name could be seen or heard or taken as harm many, which is fitting given its diverse move pool
i think the fact that Kirby passed away during this playthrough makes Typhoon's ambition to get his sister's Purrloin back even more apparent. Like Chuggaa said, anyone who's had a pet before knows the love and sentimentality we hold for our loved ones, whether they're human, animal, or Pokemon. Kirby's death was and is very devastating, not just for Chuggaa, but for all of us who love his let's plays and remember Kirby fondly. Love and grief are powerful feelings that people like Team Plasma can't understand.
Inspired Nickname time! ⬇️ *Vanillush - Yogurt / Sherbet* Both names come from different forms of cold treats. *Metang - Antik / Kythera* Both names are two halves of one; Anikythera. This is the name of an ancient analogue computer, said to be invented in Ancient Greece that was operated by hand. It served an astrological purpose, being able to predict the positions of the stars as well as when solar eclipses would occur. *Sneasel - Zephyrus / Cardea* These two names come from wind-based deities of Greco-Roman origins; Zephyrus is Grecian, and Cardea is Roman. *Swinub - Garunda / Belina* Named after two SnowHorns from the Star Fox series; Garunda Te (The SnowHorn Gatekeeper) and Belina Te (His daughter.) *Ditto - Spekkio* The name comes from Chrono Trigger (as fans of the channel would know.) This is a phonetic spelling of “Specchio,” which is Italian for mirror.
So if you use Electabuzz and cant trade it i really dont think its a problem tbh since ive run through games with eviolite electabuzz and it handles itself well against the game. It actually does very well in this in the alola games too. Ive also used a eviolite Clefairy too with cosmic power and other moves to take down Ghetsis it was really funny to do
I like that giant chasm being based on an event that people cried “aliens” at back then invites a lot of alien-like Pokémon such as Clefairy (literally described in generation one as being fairies from the moon) and metang/metagross who totally look like UFOs and are just super sci-fi themed in general. Would’ve been pretty cool to see elgyem and beheyem here to add more onto that.

At last, the Back to the Future trilogy is complete. Meanwhile, STILL have not gotten an Upgrade for Porygon... I'll be stuck with Eviolite Porygon until post-game
So, since McFly got traded from White 2 to White, and then from White to White 2, does that mean he went back to the future from Pokemon White's perspective?
And without a DeLorean, even!
Great Scott, You're right!!
...Oh my God, that's true!!

Yes, although here, Emile was merely quoting him.
God I love this game's climax so much. It's like a mix between the climax of Platinum and Black/White 1. It just... FEELS GOOD to play this game.
0:40 You have no idea how funny that is as someone who read Adventures B2W2. Leaving it at that though.
*sees thumbnail*
YO! McFly is all grown up.
@@Loner098 that's really fair. It doesn't help that he doesn't really do much in the postgame, iirc
@@Loner098 I know about the dead grandpa I just don’t get why they added a middle man since it just reduces emotional impact
THE TEAM IS FINALLY FULLY-EVOLVED! Poor McFly having to wait so dang long, although that makes this moment all the sweeter!
With this being a sequel, I suppose Hilbert/Hilda entering the Giant Chasm in B/W1 is an non-canon event.
In my eyes, anything the game doesn't mandate you to do as part of the plot is non-canon, unless stated otherwise.
I've had a personal headcanon where Hilbert/Hilda's story ends at Kyurem, and they never catch it. Kyurem freezes them until Nate/Rosa comes along to free them, and thats why the B/W protagonists are gone after their games events
@olympuskid6954 Imagine they pull a Subway Bosses on us, and they're casually in Legends Unova oof
Catching the Swords of Justice is also non-canon, as they show up to be caught in BW2.
@@olympuskid6954 Weirdly, Hilbert actually *does* own a Kyurem in Pokémon Masters EX. As does Ghetsis. It's never explained how both of them own one.
Electivire Motor Drive was so fun to use when I played Platinum. It was probably the first time I ever took advantage of Pokemon abilities.
"Ass wipe of love".... Oh chuggaa
Chugga’s team has represented all 5 regions up to this point (counting pre-evolutions too):
Kanto: Eevee, Vaporeon, and Electabuzz
Johto: Elekid
Hoenn: Trapinch, Vibrava, and Flygon
Sinnoh: Electivire
Unova: Tepig, Pignite, Emboar, Sigilyph, and Crustle
I don’t blame you for not stopping here. This story section is quite possibly the best story section in the entire game. And let me tell you, it gets better later on. We've only just gotten started.
At long last, McFly can tap into his full potential after evolving, just in time to take the fight to Team Plasma.
Metagross can also appear naturally in the wild in the Crown Tundra.
Same with Mamoswine
Electivire looks so muscular and badass though. He looks like he could beat up your school bullies on your behalf.
Emile: trying to justify trading to Team Plasma as a way pokemon are tools
Mcfly: Blaise didn't want me! I'm pissed! *Evolves out of emotional distress like a super saiyan*
He evolved but at what emotional cost? 😂
My personal head canon with trade evolutions is that the pokemon traded away get so upset that their trainer is saying goodbye that they force a change on their bodies so their original trainer will come back for them.
10:00 I know the feeling. In all my time playing Black 2, I never found a Pokemon in a Hidden Grotto outside of the tutorial.
Been a subscriber for 9 years, played along side you growing up for many of favourite games, like leafgreen, pearl, windwaker, paper Mario 1000 year door and more, tuned in randomly and it’s great to see you still doing your thing!
In this episode:
God, it's cold in my room. I blame the chasm. And the fact that my AC vent's right above my keyboard.
Fun fact: you can use dig in the Plasma Frigate here, and if you do you end up completely outside the Giant Chasm either on route 22 or route 13.
Anyone else *dig* cool little details like that?
(I learned that by accident...)
Yup. You can escape from the ship at any time using Dig.
Speedrunners use the route 13 exit, then escape rope to it after beating Ghetsis.
They don’t dig cuz they taught over it for earthquake on their Excadrill
I wonder; will the MCs mom still comment that we sound "full of energy!" at the start of a phone call even if we are carrying several fainted Pokemon?
Ghetsis, the man who comes from Venice, does tennis with a lettuce, and commonly referred to as Dennis, is so close that I can sense his evilness through the walls of the Plazma Frigate itself.
I'd even dare to call him a menace.
Emile, If Im being Honest, You Nailed that Ditto Impersonation.
2:50 It's because they think you're trading them away because you hate them, so they're trying to get stronger to win you over again.
Imagine all this bad luck with Grottos Emile is having, is leading up to Emile finding a Shiny Dragonite with Multiscale in the Final Grotto!
Im so happy you are using my favourite pokemon electivire on your team makes me so happy.
22:14 Hey! That was a GOOD imitation, sir! Do not sell yourself short!
2:19 Don't hold out on me buddy. What's the J-pop?
Unova has a lot of interesting, story-driven characters. The closest we got to this afterwards might be in Alola
I keep forgetting to this helpful tip I think it’s in this generation if you have a poison type Pokémon use the move toxic then the move will never miss
24:20
Believe me, I SUFFERED trying to catch it's prevolution in Generation 7
Making a Pokémon whose only move is Take Down have the same catch rate as Legendary Pokémon is so evil that I can't help but laugh. I was genuinely shocked when I learned that Take Down got swapped to Tackle as of Sword and Shield's DLC-apparently even GameFreak realized that a Pokémon with a catch rate of 3 that is always hurting itself is a little too mean since they put it in an area with Hail
AMAZING! McFly fully evolved!
Now it's time to go into overtime!
Electivire is one of my favorite Pokemon and it was the tipping point for me to finally get back into Pokemon during my middle and high school break from the games. It just looks so cool and powerful. Congrats McFly on such a fly evolution!
Electivire would have the best presidential campaign
What lol
@@alkimia1791Elect-ivire
I've been looking forward to seeing McFly evolve into Electivire. So good! Congrats!
God I love Electivire. He's my favorite Electric type, and I love how radical his appearance change is. Some people say he's ugly. i say he's an acquired taste
The bad thing about Electivire is that it lost 10 speed and doesn't have good Physical STAB moves.
@jaretco6423 Yeahhh, I wish it had a Signature Move that worked well with Motor Drive
I love the look of Electivire! It looks like such a bruiser of a Pokemon, and McFly and Pignatti make an awesome looking double battle team.
And it became electric/fighting with Iron Fist.
6:32 That’s the hardest I’ve laughed all week, thank you!😊
At around 2:10, I wonder what JPop songs Chuggaconroy is playing in the background?
Chugga saying the chances on the grottos being garbage reminded me of how i wanted to get a Venomoth for my team when playing White 2... and quickly cancelling those plans seeing that not only it's post-game, but it only appears in a very specific hidden grotto AND it's chance of appearing is 4%! Would be funny to see Chugga go on a rant about it
Great Chasm music takes me right back to Chrono Trigger all over again.
Thanks chugga!
Finally Electivire has been one of my favourites since sinnoh league victors
Electivire.
Elective Ire.
McFly must be Irish, from The Land of Ire.
god i love the limited Chugga they used for this Conroy it’s so A
hi nat hi hi hi hi
Alright everyone, buckle up, and for that matter bundle up, because the grand final battle against Team Plasma has began. Good thing Mcfly has bulked up.
Now that McFly has become an Electivire, I just have 1 thing to say: "With all the strength of Electivire."
With McFly travelling through time, it's time to storm the Plasma Frigate... again!
9:24 H.Ability Spheal bio (he does not know about love)
9:32 H.Ability Drifloon bio (Special Guts!)
18:15 Clefairy and Clefable bio (MAGIC GUARD TANK!)
19:15 Sneasel bio (The glass cannon! Or rather, ice cannon)
19:56 Piloswine bio (The... ice tank? Huh)
20:45 Vanillish and Vanilluxe bio (An ice cream! And then a double face ice cream!)
22:07 Ditto bio (why here of all places...? Though I guess that can go for any of Ditto's locations)
23:29 Metang bio (a really good mon... if you can catch it)
24:33 Oh Mamoswine is here too
The rivals speach to ex Team Plasma made me think of Android 16's speech to Gohan in DBZA it's funny that an abridged show on the internet years ago had a better speech than Pokemon
⬇️
*Vanillush - Yogurt / Sherbet*
Both names come from different forms of cold treats.
*Metang - Antik / Kythera*
Both names are two halves of one; Anikythera. This is the name of an ancient analogue computer, said to be invented in Ancient Greece that was operated by hand. It served an astrological purpose, being able to predict the positions of the stars as well as when solar eclipses would occur.
*Sneasel - Zephyrus / Cardea*
These two names come from wind-based deities of Greco-Roman origins; Zephyrus is Grecian, and Cardea is Roman.
*Swinub - Garunda / Belina*
Named after two SnowHorns from the Star Fox series; Garunda Te (The SnowHorn Gatekeeper) and Belina Te (His daughter.)
*Ditto - Spekkio*
The name comes from Chrono Trigger (as fans of the channel would know.) This is a phonetic spelling of “Specchio,” which is Italian for mirror.
So if you use Electabuzz and cant trade it i really dont think its a problem tbh since ive run through games with eviolite electabuzz and it handles itself well against the game. It actually does very well in this in the alola games too.
Ive also used a eviolite Clefairy too with cosmic power and other moves to take down Ghetsis it was really funny to do
Finally a electivire,it has one of the best abilities ever
These next few vids are going to be more plot heavy for sure
The double battle is where Marriland lost Polka his Cinccino in Black 2.
Emile doesn’t like Electivier’s looks?!? I think it looks awesome!
Excellent video as always Emile, you deserve an AWOL for it~
