18:51 - Ratatouille is my favorite. Best... Pixar movie... EVER!!!
It is claimed as Pixar's cinematic masterpiece that won the Best Animated Feature Oscar.
Brad Bird did a beautiful job writing, directing and producing the movie. Thank U, Mr. Bird. Gr8 Job!

Remy didn't live under the restaurant. He lived in the country, but he and his family had to escape the cottage they lived in when he tried to use spices for a mushroom he cooked. Reme=y got seperated from his family, and ended up in Paris near Gusteau's. Ratatouille is my favourite Pixar movie :P

My personal favorite Pixar film is Ratatouille. I'm sure movies like The Incredibles and Tou Story are better on par, but Ratatouille is my true favorite of the bunch. I find it to be the most creative, since it about a rat(keep that in mind) who wants to become a chef in Paris, France at a high-class restaurant. If that doesn't equal great writing and possibilities, I don't know what does.

I'm glad you do, because I can see why that style is so near and dear to so many people to the point where CGI is often demonized for replacing hand-drawn, as hand-drawn seems to have an innocent childlike feel, like children's book illustrations being brought to life, regardless of how dark and edgy it is.

Let me put that into perspective. At my high school senior superlatives, the 3 smartest girls and 3 smartest guys had a trivia competition. The last question was to guess the current 19 Pixar films. However this was late 2018 meaning there was actually 20. When then listed off the films, I knew one was missing and it took me a while to realize they forgot Ratatouille.

I think Animat made a mistake, I expected him to say: "When it was released on June 9th 2006, like the previous films, it was a major hit. The critics praised the film for it's beautiful animation, great voice acting and colourful characters, fun songs and music and said that this film is even better than the others and it's fun to watch for everyone."
But instead he said: "When it was released on June 9th 2006, it didn't do well as the other Pixar films, but that doesn't mean that it was a failure at all. The critics seem to like it a bit saying that even if the story isn't as strong as their previous films, it's still worth watching it for it's innovative animation."
I think this is all wrong of what he said, I don't think it matters how strong the story has to be, what matters is that it has such colourful and great characters, great music and songs and the smooth animation.

Happy Feet was ridiculously overrated. The visuals were awesome, yes, but the story was mediocre, boring and its potential was missed, the characters were hypocritical and stupid, some of its morals were awful and the environmental message was annoyingly unnecessary.
Cars may not have been as great as The Incredibles or Finding Nemo, but at least has a nice and coherent story, decent characters, good lessons and is more enjoyable to watch than a nonsensical movie about shallow and horny singing penguins.

    • @mevb
      @mevb 5 років тому +3

Okay, I might not seen the WHOLE Happy Feet but Cars to me, especially when I saw it the first time with my first girlfriend in 2006, it was not as great as Monsters Inc, Finding Nemo and ESPECIALLY The Incredibles, one of my FAVORITE Pixar flms of all time, it felt like a slight Disappointment at the time. Sure, I appriciate it more now but still the other movies both before and after Cars, they're better than that film (or the franchise, Cars 2, not great but not AS bad as people say, though the least favorite Pixar movie, and 3 is equal but not greater than Cars but still better than C2 and The Good Dinosaur which isn't bad but is clearly overshadowed by the other movies, especally Inside Out, Coco and The Incredibles 2).

My brief thoughts on the films:
The Incredibles - Easily one of the best, possibly my favourite Pixar film of all.
Cars - Honestly, I don't hate this one (though I am a bit of a car enthusiast). Not the best, but not the worst either.
Ratatouille - Eh, I like it enough. But the end speech in that film... just brilliant.
Also, that Edna Mode voice was spot-on! Next up: robots, talking dogs & a nostalgic finale to a great series.

I can pretty much tell why, especially when one's English Language Arts skills advance (sadly, English was my least favorite subject in my middle and high school years due to not being much of a bookworm and I couldn't stand having to write numerous essays).

So the Incredibles is not the Fantastic Four but a mix of Nick Fury: Agent of Shield and Brad Bird's life during the Iron Giant?

15:34 don't forget preschool game The Big Action Garage, that might have drew the inspiration for Cars.

I don't think Im surprised when Disney turned down Steve's offer because there's no way Disney will hand all of their money to them. Especially considering they make billions of dollars off of merchandising
