Third, she is polyphonic, which means she can produce multiple harmonics within her voice at the same time. This is what allows her to sound like two people at once. (more below) When you add all that up you basically get a person who creates her own auto-tune. She doesn't need electronic auto-tune. She IS her own auto-tune. And the effect when you hear her is totally mind-blowing. It's like she's singing right through you, like a sword straight into your soul. Literally NOBODY else on the planet has a voice like hers. She's not one in a million, she's one in eight billion. Having watched well over 100 initial reactions to her, only one did NOT say she was "unique".

But there is another - Dimash Kudaibergen, who you will not want to be missing in your quest to hear something that will take your breath away. The premise of this show called "ShowMaskGoOn" was to take established singers out of their comfort zones and get them to sing in various genres, they then critiqued each other - the people in the stands were the other singers and they were as dumbfounded as everybody else! This video is from September 2021 when Diana was 18 years old - she is now 20 and her career is progressing nicely even though she is still studying at GITIS, a prestigious performing art college in Moscow. I'll be honest - 99% of my my reaction videos I pause a lot. It's my style 😀 I didn't this time because it was only a short song. You have to be careful for copyright and fair use purposes. That's why a lot of reactors, myself included, pause the songs and add commentary, so we abide by the rules.
I wish it were that simple too 😉 But also, if someone just sits there for the entire duration of the song without pausing for commentary and analysis, it's not really a reaction is it? This performance took place during the inaugural season starting on September 25, 2021, of a new Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn!”, when Diana Ankudinova was 18. Diana has said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that lack kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies, so along with her voice teacher she decided to concentrate extensively on improving and developing her upper vocal range. A female singers vocal range helps to determine and define her voice type. During this “Can’t Help Falling In Love” performance, her vocal range was measured and Diana’s functional vocal range goes from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range). For the new “ShowMaskGoOn!” competition, Diana’s first performance of Elvis Presley’s classic, “Can't Help Falling In Love”. She demonstrated what many vocal professionals have been saying since Diana was 14, based on Diana’s previous vocal competitions, and concerts, she has now developed into what many believed she always was, a true contralto voice type. For those that do not know what a contralto voice type is, a contralto is the lowest, and deepest type of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. During the opening of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” Diana’s low Contralto voice is on full display. The improvement to her upper vocal range is also on display during the middle portion of this performance and finally, the depth and power of Diana’s voice during the final section define her as not just a Contralto, but as a “Dramatic Contralto” voice type, and a Dramatic Contralto has the lowest, deepest, darkest, richest sound and it is the most powerful. Here Diana was 18 years old, this is not her first appearance on a TV show or a vocal competition in general, she has been singing from the age of five and she has won tens of vocal competitions because she is simply unmatched. Her performances on the TV competition for unfortunate children(Orphans) called "You are super" at the age of 14 kickstarted her fame and it is only going upwards from there. She is easily the best female vocalist of today so do not worry her career is advancing rapidly, she is 20 years old now and and she has more masterpieces under her belt than other singers have in a lifetime that includes both covers and originals, she does not even show her full range or even half of what her voice is really capable off here, so trap on for the journey of a life time.

There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course of the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles. Diana is 15 years old in the following video, singing a cover of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game, giving it a more "tribal" sound. She's a contralto, even at the age of 15, has a unique and otherworldly voice, and a commanding stage presence. She is performing on the Russian TV show You Are Super, a show for disadvantaged children to display their talents that they otherwise would not be able to. Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history. I don't like Dimash: he sounds like a woman in his upper register and that's totally despicable for me. Diana, however, sounds divine both in her lower and upper register. Diana is the real deal!
Greetings from Scotland! Diana was just 18yo here, but is 20yo currently and I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! Quite simply there is no other female singer with her vocal abilities in the world!
It was very difficult for Diana as a child... BUT everything has changed, you can't predict your fate. Diana is like a diamond that is born in the bowels of the earth under high pressure, was found and is now turning into a brilliant, gradually acquiring/polishing more and more new facets of her talent

This performance took place during the inaugural season starting on September 25, 2021, of a new Russian vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn!”, when Diana Ankudinova was 18. Diana has said she was unhappy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that lack kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies, so along with her voice teacher she decided to concentrate extensively on improving and developing her upper vocal range. A female singers vocal range helps to determine and define her voice type.
During this “Can’t Help Falling In Love” performance, her vocal range was measured and Diana’s functional vocal range goes from a low of C3 (male Tenor range) to a high of B♭5, (female Mezzo Soprano range). For the new “ShowMaskGoOn!” competition, Diana’s first performance of Elvis Presley’s classic, “Can't Help Falling In Love”. She demonstrated what many vocal professionals have been saying since Diana was 14, based on Diana’s previous vocal competitions, and concerts, she has now developed into what many believed she always was, a true contralto voice type. For those that do not know what a contralto voice type is, a contralto is the lowest, and deepest type of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. During the opening of “Can’t Help Falling In Love” Diana’s low Contralto voice is on full display.
The improvement to her upper vocal range is also on display during the middle portion of this performance and finally, the depth and power of Diana’s voice during the final section define her as not just a Contralto, but as a “Dramatic Contralto” voice type, and a Dramatic Contralto has the lowest, deepest, darkest, richest sound and it is the most powerful. Diana's contralto voice type is the rarest of the very rare Contralto voice types. At the end of this performance, the full power of her Dramatic Contralto voice is on full display for everyone to hear.
The "ShowMaskGoOn!", concluded on November 20, 2021, and during Diana’s “Can’t Help Falling In Love” performance, the judge on the top row stands first is a well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan. He was invited to participate as a special guest judge for this inaugural competition. At the end of Diana's performance she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. One of those competitors is also a well-known contemporary Russian singer, Julia Parshuta. Julia is in the center row dressed in in red, and looks totally lost at the end of Diana's performance. She puts both hands on top of her head, and looks totally shocked, lost and bewildered. Finally, The Show Must Go On competition concluded with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points over the total of 9 weeks, and was declared the competition winner!

Here Diana was 18 years old, this is not her first appearance on a TV show or a vocal competition in general, she has been singing from the age of five and she has won tens of vocal competitions because she is simply unmatched.
Her performances on the TV competition for unfortunate children(Orphans) called "You are super" at the age of 14 kickstarted her fame and it is only going upwards from there.
She is easily the best female vocalist of today so do not worry her career is advancing rapidly, she is 20 years old now and and she has more masterpieces under her belt than other singers have in a lifetime that includes both covers and originals, she does not even show her full range or even half of what her voice is really capable off here, so trap on for the journey of a life time.

Wonderful reaction! This performance was from a Russian show that aired in the fall of 2021, and ran for 9 weeks. Diana was 18 at this time. There were 9 singers who were also the judges and critiqued each other. There were 9 genres of music they had to perform over the course of the show. Thus Diana sang in many different styles.
Diana is 15 years old in the following video, singing a cover of Chris Isaak's Wicked Game, giving it a more "tribal" sound. She's a contralto, even at the age of 15, has a unique and otherworldly voice, and a commanding stage presence.
She is performing on the Russian TV show You Are Super, a show for disadvantaged children to display their talents that they otherwise would not be able to.
Diana (dee-ah-na) was abandoned by her abusive mother at the age 3 and placed in an orphanage, diagnosed with cognitive impairment. Her adoptive mother had her enroll in singing lessons to help with some speech problems due to abuse and neglect. Her singing talent was immediately noticed and the rest, as they say, is history. It's a safe prediction that you'll have goosebumps and say that's the most unique voice you've ever heard.

Now that you've discovered Diana (I also recommend a song she sung when she was only 14, "Rechenka"), you should let yourself be blown away by Dimash (try "Stranger" New Wave 2021 and pick up your jaw from the floor... He's a singer with a range extending further than a regular piano keyboard, singing opera, pop, rock, and folk in 15+ languages and even rapping, plus a composer and a poly-instrumentalist), and Angelina Jordan (you could start with a performance from when she was only a little child, "I put a spell on you", and pick up your jaw again).
I don't like Dimash: he sounds like a woman in his upper register and that's totally despicable for me. Diana, however, sounds divine both in her lower and upper register. Diana is the real deal!

Greetings from Scotland! Diana was just 18yo here, but is 20yo currently and I've been following her career since she was around 13yo. Diana is a natural Dramatic Contralto so the lower registers are her comfort zone but she has increased her range even more since this. She also naturally sings with polyphonic overtones so it sounds like many voices at the same time! Any song, any genre, in any language, Diana can sing it and improve it! Quite simply there is no other female singer with her vocal abilities in the world!
