I appreciate that you did not film the graves out of respect, some vloggers usually use those for 'interesting content' without permission from the families of the dead buried there. Enjoy your holidays here in the Philippines!
@Crimson Yes, agree. Respectful & thoughtful. *Susie & Jonathan if u read this I want you to know plz delete it if you find it too specific 4 ur channel.* I understand. I don’t know nor need to know your Faith tradition or if u practice any. But, FYI I wish to remind you since u fulfilled visiting a loved ones’ grave & probably praying, remember you can get an “indulgence” for yourself or applied to other over this next week or so, if you r Roman Catholic. You gotta do a few more ez “requirements”. Don’t wanna b a boring book or start any problems but as I am frequently commenting my thoughts to you, just FYI.🙂 🙏🏽🌅
Both of you are animal lovers as I've seen in your previous videos. Treasure every moment with your wonderful dog, Unfortunately I lost my 11 year 3- month old dog only recently. You deserve more subscribers. 🙂
Ty Susie & Jonathan & fam. Happy 2 c sis in law Joanne (sp?) without a Pixel or other face shield. 🙂S’s 🇵🇭fam is so good looking! J I vote u never hide ur face again. But I respect Jonathan is more reserved & appreciate his being willing to be more on camera. But careful he now wants guide fees! No that’s under marital requirements😆 Jonathan & his bro & nephew r too guapo not 2 b on screen. Zabrina too. Missed her. Not just fangurling IMO really photogenic folks in a lovely city.
Can’t figure out how to edit so even longer wish 2 add to to my earlier (already long) comment that I respect all the fam members in whatever they wish 2 do for any video, anytime. Face/no face/talk/no talk! It is all good, no worries.
It's really beautiful I hope more people would visit! The park and the night market near it looks really good too it was just closed now because of the typhoons
Susie and Jonathan, you passed through my hometown, Jaen, on your way to Gapan! I suddenly felt homesick seeing the old Spanish houses in San Isidro and also Gapan! Much homesickness as I haven’t celebrated Undas in the Philippines for 20 years since leaving the Philippines. Thank you very much for your video! Pixel seemed to have enjoyed her Halloween trip and food! And Jonathan’s brothers are nice and good-looking! I’m always looking forward to your videos! They bring so much warmth in my heart! Thank you so much!
The dresses are called "FIlipiniana" in general. But there are several designs of them. The most traditional is the "Baro't saya". Like the barong tagalog, it evolved from a combination of pre-colonial fashion and Spanish fashion. It has four outer parts: blouse, skirt, panuelo (neck kerchief), tapis (overskirt). A version worn by aristocratic, rich, or half-Spanish women with more expensive lace-like pineapple fabric was called the "Traje de Mestiza" (literally "Mestiza's Dress", also called "Maria Clara" in modern times). A version in the Visayas which uses a blouse with a poncho-like design is called the "Kimona". And finally, during the early American period, a version which combines all of the elements into one gown with puffed sleeves is called the "terno." A version of the terno with a shorter skirt is called the "Balintawak".
More eats anywhere and everywhere, Susie :D The difference is very much in the fact that the remembrance is particularly with the departed ü You're truly more than just a Foreignoy. Thanks for sharing the joy. Cheers.
Actually when I was young, I used to go with my parents in a Cemetery. They lit candles and pray. But it becomes modernize now, people go to cemetery bringing food, etc.
Most of the cemeteries especially in the cities in the ph. are crowded during undas or November 1.it is better to visit the grave of the love ones before or after November 1 so that to avoid the too much crowd in that area. Good thing the gapan government preserved the Spanish houses in that place, it's almost the same as the old Spanish houses in vigan which most tourist visited.
The big holiday in November in the US is Thanksgiving Day, which is the last Thursday of the month. Halloween (Oct. 31st) is celebrated here but not November 1st. Love the houses on the Spanish street, and it looks like they have cobblestones, too. Sorry to hear that the bibinka store was closed. Maybe some other time…
That’s nice that you experienced your first undas in the Philippines. Im away from my country & wasn’t able to visit my departed love ones but it is important to remember them and pray for them. Again, thank you for sharing another vlog. Be safe and God bless! ❤
mabuhay,,,,hello susie,,,,,it is holiday season kasi,,,,then the usual store that sell bibingka, probable not there, bcoz they might be busy in family matter, then the other store will might be station in cemetary,,,one trivia, why philippine cemetary is more crowded, boz the relative bring there own food to pray and commemorate the death of their loveone,,,,it is like a reunion of relative, and so that is why the cemetary is crowded,,,,Sensya na, d ko sure tma ba english ko,,,,hehe God Bless
Hi Susie, my brother in law is Hungarian. He left Hungary when it was invaded by the Soviets and found himself working for the US Army which enabled him to leave Europe for the USA where he met my sister. My brother in law told me that Hungarians are, for the most part, Catholic. Is this correct?
It's correct! Maybe less people practice religion in Hungary on day to day life compared to here in the Philippines but most people in Hungary are chatolics! This is why we share most religion based holidays and customs with the Philippines. 🤗
What province is Gapang city located? I want to see that place . Very Spanish environment .Also they have different pancit . You should coordinate with the Philippines tourism to promote provincial tourist spots unknown to pilipinos
I am sure you were surprised by this culture of the Filipinos. Enjoy your adventure Miss Susie with Jonathan.

Thanks for taking us along Susie. Lumang Gapan is pretty. That's the first time I've seen it.

Thank you for the detailed information again! I'm glad I could see some in real life not just in pictures 😊

Hello Susie and Jonathan
Hii! 😊
Actually when I was young, I used to go with my parents in a Cemetery. They lit candles and pray.
But it becomes modernize now, people go to cemetery bringing food, etc.

You’re my favorite vlogger. You are articulate and I love watching your vlogs in the province.
Thank you so much 😊
I enjoyed your eating marathon vlog😂😂😂
@Gil g In my family gatherings we call it “pre-eating #1, #2, lunch...etc.”. But merienda is such a prettier term 👩🏻🍳
Maybe some other time…
Luckily it's not that far from us so we can come back some other time 😊
I'm sure Thanksgiving is fun we don't have anything similar in Hungary!
in terms of century old houses i think we can compare Gapan city to the more popular Vigan city and Taal , batangas old houses
keep it up Susie and keep safe ..
That’s nice that you experienced your first undas in the Philippines. Im away from my country & wasn’t able to visit my departed love ones but it is important to remember them and pray for them. Again, thank you for sharing another vlog. Be safe and God bless! ❤
The lamp posts are the same design that's on the Bridge in Manila.
so cool place and its people.
.
Undas was short for Unos dias de las almas or days for the souls
there are also some holloween parties in manila .
Wow parang Vigan.
cool nice place.
Thanks Susie ..
Thank you for watching!!
everyday is a learning day....tc
I hope everyone is doing well. 🎄thank you for sharing your video. 🏝💐🎃🌹☮️♥️
Bibingka in Plaza Lucero in Cabanatuan is good and cheap. Oh my God, I miss it!
It's soo good there! I have a vlog trying it but we went back to get more after the video😊
Susie is a full pledge Filipina now since she adopted her second country.
Undas is most similar to Dia de los Muertos in Mexico, I guess.
I don't know why, but seeing unripe mango and bagoong always makes me salivate XD Like I crave the sourness and saltiness.
It is like the old houses in Vigan
Yes it's like Vigan, can't wait to visit there also 😊
mabuhay,,,,hello susie,,,,,it is holiday season kasi,,,,then the usual store that sell bibingka, probable not there, bcoz they might be busy in family matter, then the other store will might be station in cemetary,,,one trivia, why philippine cemetary is more crowded, boz the relative bring there own food to pray and commemorate the death of their loveone,,,,it is like a reunion of relative, and so that is why the cemetary is crowded,,,,Sensya na, d ko sure tma ba english ko,,,,hehe
