Awesome tut, the 7 limit texture tipe looks life-saving 😅
It really is!
Wow, that's just brilliant, thank you so much for the lesson.

I was just needing that material configuration thank you
Glad it helped!

Wow, thanks!

Thanks!
Спасибо огромное!!!!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Hey Alan, amazing tutorial man, well done! One thing I cannot find on UA-cam is how to make a decal that comes in from Photoshop, turn to chrome? For example, if you wanted your Nike logo to be shiny metai with some roughness in as well, is there a way that you can think of to do that?
You would plug the texture alpha channel (colour splitter) node into a chrome material. Maybe I’ll make a tutorial in the future
@@AlanPun2 That would be so helpful man
here you go: ua-cam.com/video/DIp2zvviKh4/v-deo.html
im in the latest versio, i do exactly what you do and it alpha's out the whole object just leaving the text.. like, i have red layer underneath and the object is now transparent with just the text layer.. any thoughts?
Can you send some screenshots to my IG? Node editor + renderview
did u find a solution? I have a same problem(
Great tutorial. I only have a question. I used your technique to add a label. All works fine except that I have something like a specular label reversed on the back. Any suggestion?
send me a screenshot on IG :)
Hi @Alan, Thank you for the redshift tutorial.
I want to make a request, can you do a tutorial about your lighting setup and how to make amazing product lighting like in this tutorial.
Hey Mike it's a basic 3 point lighting set up. But are you struggling more with the principles of lighting? I.e. Why use a 3 point light in the first place, why does that make my shot look better? I know I struggled with it at the beginning.
@@AlanPun2 hahaha, yeah you are right. I do struggle with lighting a bit (alot) mine is either too blown out or not enough.
Thanks for replying.
@@mikejohnson5756 Right I know what you mean. I've added it to my list of upcoming tutorials :)
@@AlanPun2 thank you Alan.

Really well done tutorial! I can see this technigue being used to really put some personality on modelled assets. I have a question though, me not being a Redshift user what would the equivalent for "Color Splitter" be in Octane? Any idea?
I don’t use Octane but if someone reads this and knows please comment!
@@AlanPun2 No problem! Thanks Alan! Keep up the fantastic content.
There is no need for a color splitter in Octane. Just connect the texture to the diffuse and opacity, and in opacity change Both Border Mode ti Black color. it will be enough, if there is any problem I can help you.
@@IlkinAbbaszadeh This here is spot on advice. I managed to figure it out in the meantime but it's exactly what setting you play with. Thanks for your input and willingess to assist me!
Does this work, if the base texture has displacement on it? And ist there a trick to get the transparency in the editor preview? It seems to work if you feed in a greyscale image for the alpha channel, but not with the color splitter…..
I don't see why it wouldn't work with displacement on base material, but I haven't tried yet!
I forgot to try it, too today. Just wasn‘t sure if the displacement influences the material on top as well….
but when i animate this its going to drop with a flat projection, what can i do for make it moving ? thank you a lot
it happens when i try to put my texture on animation from marvelous designer
Hey not sure what you mean exactly, send a video to me on IG
@@AlanPun2 I'm trying to do this too. The mesh is moving with a cloth simulation and I want to pin the sticker to one place in the mesh. Thanks Alan!
So I figured out that you'll probably have to UV unwrap the object that's being animated, but there's also a new projection deformer that you might be able to stick the decal onto the mesh with
Привет! У меня у одного материалы не смешиваются? Если ставишь стикер, то базовый цвет объекта слетает :`(

Они уже исправили проблема с стикерами в 2024 версии?
К сожалению, нет(
