Thanks for posting this. I did all of the ink drawings in sepia for the original Mickey's Christmas Carol titles and the extra dozen ink drawings for the NBC broadcast. I haven' seen them since it originally aired.
Well, you did a wonderful job with them. This movie came out the year I was born, and I've always enjoyed seeing all these old Disney characters used as a repertory company in a classic story.
I remember seeing your drawings on a CBS rebroadcast (it's funny, everybody else called it "A Disney Special", but CBS called it "The Wonderful World of Disney").
Walt Disney would be proud and amazed job well done one of the best and favorite chritmas cartoons ever appreciate you guys thanks go enjoy the holiday's hope to see you next year appreciate you guys still going strong after all these years later somethings never go out of style thanks ! Joe
I watched this Special on tape so many times as a kid, I wore out the tape (and to this day I remember most of the dialogue from this special. Watching this again brings back so many pleasant childhood memories. Thanks for uploading!!
Been there, done that (with watching a tape so many times I wore it out). You're welcome. I uploaded the intros to everything because nobody else seemed to have them. Thank goodness I still have a working Betamax player!
Awesome nostalgia here and two of the greatest voice over artists of all time, back to back. NBC’s house voice, Danny Dark (1938-2004) opens this one up after the news promo (“Now stay tuned for…”). Dark did numerous national commercials and notably said, “Sorry, Charlie!” in the StarKist tuna ads. He also voiced Superman in the Super Friends cartoon series in the 70s. As soon as he is done speaking, the great Mark Elliott takes over. A real bonus for us V/O nerds!
This is exactly what my mom had recorded for us! I never thought I would see this again! Thank you so much for uploading this! Great memories with this. We had many specials and movies on this one tape: this, Rudolph the red nosed reindeer, prancer, frosty the snowman, ernest saves Christmas, Charlie brown Christmas, Garfield Christmas, twas the night before Christmas, and then How the Grinch stole Christmas.
We had this on a tape with A Charlie Brown Christmas, and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Rudolph, Frosty, and Twas the Night Before Christmas were on another tape. Oh, 1984 was a good year for me.
You're welcome. Believe me, I know what it is to have destroyed tapes! Luckily, this one hadn't been destroyed, and thank goodness I still have a working Beta machine!
This brings back so many nostalgic memories thank you for uploading I remember watching this on television and my older siblings taping it on our VCR with the commercials, Watched it countless times especially during holidays📼 Thank you 🙏 2/6/24
I believe this would be the last time Nash ever voiced Donald Duck, as he passed away only two months after this. I love the Sepia artwork, plus the rare Walt Disney Pictures title card in Mickey's Christmas Carol. Great Memories
Actually, Nash’s last performance as Donald Duck was a educational LP series called Disney Discovery. Some installments came out a year after Nash’s passing.
Thanks so much for posting. My folks recorded this for me off WSTM NBC 3 in Syracuse back in 1989. A Little Mermaid special followed! I'll have to upload mine at some point...
Thank you! For years my family taped this special, but they didn't start until after the Goofy cartoon was cut; ever since I found out there had been one I've wondered what the introduction was like!
I'm trying to recreate my childhood Christmas tape that is missing and this is so helpful, this may be the moment my mom taped it. She ended the tape with garfield and wil vintons claymation christmas. This segment you have is the first on the tape
I'm glad this helped you. Though I have no idea when your mom taped it. I know for a fact this was the 1984 airing of "Mickey's Christmas Carol." I had A Garfield Christmas and half of Claymation Christmas myself, on another tape, and that was from 1990.
Because I didn't want to upload the whole special, just select pieces of it. But I'm sure someone has the whole thing somewhere if you just keep looking for it.
Let me level with you. This came from a tape I've had since 1984, and the tape happened to be a Betamax (look it up). It's old, I'm not tech savvy, I'm sorry.
Sorry, I don't have the full broadcast. My parents cut the commercials. And even if they didn't, I have no way to convert it. This was taped using a Beta, and the Beta machine I have currently in storage.
At least what you provided was very helpful and let us know that the pairing of these cartoons and special titles began in 1984 when this special aired on television and I thank you for that as this is the copy seen again for several years. @@DreamDancer82
I remember I had a tape with the commercials intact, but I think it was for a different channel (possibly CBS). Though, the sponsors for that airing were McDonalds and 7up sodas. "Check in this Christmas for your local 7up bottler!"
I don't know. NBC probably had the broadcasting rights at the time. That's how it was in the 1980's, I guess. I mean, this WAS 1984, and not a lot of people had cable in the early 80's.
I was just speculating on why it didn't air on the Disney Channel. Maybe they didn't want to air it on the Disney Channel because not many people had it. It's two different thoughts here.
Yeah, back then, NBC was part of what was known as "The Big Three," (CBS, NBC, and ABC) and everybody has those channels, with or without cable. Not only was the Disney Channel on cable, it was also a premium channel, which was not part of the basic cable package, and people had to pay extra in order to get it. I don't know why this was, but that's the way it was back then (keep in mind, I was only two years old in 1984).

mpazamojo you are a retro hero in my eyes. Those sepia title cards take us all back to our childhoods
I remember seeing your drawings on a CBS rebroadcast (it's funny, everybody else called it "A Disney Special", but CBS called it "The Wonderful World of Disney").
They were actually seen again throughout several reairings and are a great contribution to the whole program!
I'm getting nostalgic feels from this. I remember my parents recorded this special on a video tape a long time ago, maybe even before I was born.
I think I remember this, too. I was, like, so young.
RIP Alan Young (1919-2016) voice of Scrooge McDuck as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Truthfully, I included the Walt Disney Pictures title card because I absolutely love the song.

For years my family taped this special, but they didn't start until after the Goofy cartoon was cut; ever since I found out there had been one I've wondered what the introduction was like!
I was three months old when this aired!
I remember this, watching with my twin brother when we were little kids.
I love the closing line @ 7:20.
Thanks for the upload. My family had this special recorded, but without the Goofy segment.
World television premiere:
December 10, 1984 (Monday night at 8pm).
I was 5 when this aired
those Ink Drawings in sepia for the NBC broadcast should be in a greeting cards pack or something!
Yep, Mark Elliott started doing announcing for Disney products since the 80's. But since this decade, he retired. We miss him.
We currently miss him even more, since he passed away, back in 2021.

My parents used to pause commercials most of the time, too, before I became old enough to know how to navigate the VCR.
Mine did, too, actually. This is why I don't have too many of the commercial bumpers here, and none of the commercials.
I seen that on WNBC 4, back in 1988 in NYC at the age of 5 before "Family Ties" is next on NBC. With making "Disney's Oliver & Company."
How Come They Cut The End Instead Of Showing The Whole Special
Because I didn't want to upload the whole special, just select pieces of it. But I'm sure someone has the whole thing somewhere if you just keep looking for it.
Thanks for the uploads..
Wished you upload the commercials...
If I HAD the commercials I would have.
My left ear really enjoyed this.

This is going to be a strange ask, but do you happen to have a copy of this with all the commercials intact?
No, unfortunately, I do not. My parents taped the whole thing for me and my sister, but they cut out the commercials (they are not commercial fans).
@@DreamDancer82 thanks so much! We had a copy complete with commercials but it went missing a few years ago. :(

Can u do the making of beauty and the beast from Winnie the Pooh and Christmas too please
+jack uttley Sorry, I don't have those.
+DreamDancer82 then have u got any more like these
+jack uttley No, sorry, this is the only one I have.
