Nothing awarded for participating cost blizzard anything. The signatures are just a flashier name card. Literally the most uninspired lazy bullshit they could have done. It's not a surprise that its essentially free, because it took Jim down the hall like 2 days to put it together. Blizzard will take your money all day, every day. Sell countless battlepasses and cosmetics, but when it's time to give back to the community we get crickets.

I mean, it's been a bad situation since PvE got cancelled. Not only do we have skins, but now we have weapon skins, all of which are payed for of course. Events are non-existent, the progress they are PLANNING to make is actually reverting things to OW1 teams, and... That's it? Mind you I was no small fan of the game, I have the Ryu Ichimonji replica from Blizzard, I have EVERY Genji skin, never touched Ranked because I didn't care to, the game was enough. But now it's just skins. That you have to buy. It's a shell of it's former self.
Oh and I think shop skins that are unlocked for free later ought to offer a small reimbursement coin reward to those who already had it, because things like this does make purchasing skins less appealing knowing they might be free later

I asked support if they could refund me because it became a free skin and they said no! But they can refund the Mercy Mafia if one of their skins becomes free, k
Must be huffing that copium hard if you can wrap your head around Blizzard's predatory practices. Long answer short it's designed to incentivise analytics by making you play longer. I.e. baiting you with the 20 games being a good size of BP exp to make you play longer assuming the next would be just as good, but really it's diminishing returns. Same thing with the free skins, they don't make much selling it, but make you grind for it. Makes their analytics look good. It's why D4 was designed to be an inconvenience in areas to keep you in the game longer.

@eetdotmp4 no, the teams culled were from all the pve teams in an effort to focus on the pvp and new features for that. To have nothing but some Shiney name plates to show and offer as content for the games anniversary is beyond disgusting.
