- After the fleshing process is complete a beaver hide needs to be stretched and dried. This can be be done in a variety of ways, the most common are metal hoops and wooden boards.
We have found that hoops work best for larger beaver pelts and boards for smaller but both methods will complete the task.

UA-cam randomly recommended this and the video ended up being pretty interesting. Feels like a win. 😎
I will not ever be beaver trapping, however this is still an interesting video.
It's currently 11pm and I need to get up early tomorrow I have absolutely zero connection to beaver furr and I absolutely do not intend to get into it but hey the video was quite interesting
Beautiful Fur. You take great care of your Fur. Excellent video
Been trapping 58 years, used willow branches for stretching beaver and fencing nails. To sow the holes fishing line and needle.
Use a leather punch to punch holes in the pelt
Great video thanks for sharing
poor bober
I know if you leave a fur out for a short amount of time, the hair will slip. Does stretching speed up the drying time of skin, preventing hair slippage? Thank you!
Maybe I missed it but what do you do with the meat from all the critters ? , can sell it or give it away . Some can be an acquired taste , like muskrat , but I'm sure someone would enjoy the fresh wild game...
Can you do a video of how to get into fur handling and trapping for beginners? I live in Northwest Florida and would really enjoy to do this
Oops , I found the meat related videos , thank you very much....
Thanks for sharing your knowledge👌🏻

Great video, I’m getting my trappers license this summer! I live up in Canada, excited to start.
That's really cool, I've never seen these wire hoops before, except for on your channel. Thanks for the information. Happy Trapping. 😊
