If this is a Lexus its going to have to showcase a lot more than its infotainment. With the name Lexus, people expect luxury first. Besides, anytime someone says you have to get used to something, its just an excuse for a poor design.
To all carmakers, a good design should be intuitive so anyone can figure it out without needing a degree in computer science or to take you eyes off the road for more than an instant.

I am just super curious about sells. Many buyers will choose between this or Yaris Cross (but if you look at price tag Corolla Cross is a possible rival). It would be nice if Lexus could offer B or C (or something between) segment car again because now if you don't want SUV you only have ES.

@@gogeorgia707 It is probably based on Corolla (most Lexus models share platfrom with Toyota and it is a good thing in the end) but still it is a crossover (or small SUV like some people tend to say). What I meant was something like CT model. Design language was similar to pre lift IS at that time and since latest IS look very good it would be nice to have such hatchback back on lineup (4th gen IS is not available in Europe). I have older 2016 IS and since I want to stay with Lexus there aren't many options left : / I had latest Yaris but it is quite disappointing car in terms of sound insulation, it can be fixed in external workshop but mingling with insulation in a new car is against warranty, tested high spec Corolla, almost the same, Camry is really nice car but just like ES a bit too big for me.

@@gogeorgia707 UX is a crossover. I was thinking about something like CT which was discontinued.

The LBX is a B segment car. I ordered mine a few weeks ago. Cool version with advanced pack. It will arrive end of july at the dealer. It has the same platform as the Yaris Cross but everything else is Lexus like the high quality of the materials.

According to Lexus sales are strong, even in not that rich countries (no idea if it's true). It's not Yaris Cross. Go and seat, drive both. Different class interior and typical Lexus polished driving experience compared to Yaris. It has more sporty feel- engine, suspension and steering is very direct compared to bigger Lexus cars. Engine is easily good enough as it has strong electric motor, so don't think about it as 3 cylinder 136hp petrol engine. It's very different story as electric engine does help a lot when instant power is needed. It probably gives dynamic of typical 150hp turbo equipped petrol engine, also thanks to e-CVT gearbox which has "no delay". It was designed in Europe for European market. It's definitely more refined than Cross and quieter. Is it worth extra money? This is up to every buyer. Those small, "luxury" cars always carry relatively high price. If you realise that a lot of elements are the same as in almost 2x more expensive bigger Lexuses (eg. acoustic windows) then you understand why it has to cost that much in order to make profit. Most car makers abandoned such a cars (Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Mini) because they said profit margins are not good enough. They simply made bigger cars and charge more. For LBX price you can definitely buy a bigger car which also will be good, but no everyone wants a bigger car. For me bigger car means more problems than benefits. LBX is great for city and easily good enough to drive 600km for a holiday (just not with 2 children :) ).

@@SOMEONE-MEAcoustic windows are only on the highest trim.
And no it isn’t fast like a 150hp normal car.

Not really. It's very dynamic system and for that body size it's fine in most EU countries (maybe except German motorways). In all others countries you hardly ever will get into situation when you'll really lack of hp. Typical city scenarios 30-60 etc. or even motorway join is absolutely fine. Go and drive before you comment. Don't think that this is same as pure petrol 136hp system. You need pure petrol with huge turbo to get same feel. Any non-strong-turbo equipped engines with same power is no match to this hybrid. Electric motor does its job well in this hybrid version.
