Too late. I have already had the speaker underwater several times with no problems, so I can assure you that they are indeed waterproof... As for the passive radiators, though, the only difference since the Charge 2 is that they stopped using the ribbing in the surround, because the surrounds on the newer speakers are made with a stiffer rubber instead of the lower density rubber foam, but all of the passive radiators are still inverted as you mentioned.
