Bill was a world class Scrabble player too. His son told me his last words were about his "Scrabble" game. When asked how he won so often, he replied with a wink...."I cheated". Then he passed. Thanks, Jason.
Love Bill. Bill and I hung out at his home in Davidsonville. He and Ellen were the finest folks you could ever imagine. What a blessing to see this! Thank you so much, Jason!
Been to Ralph's place many times. Sure Wish I could have been their when the best banjo picker ever was their. I did get to hear and talk to a lot of great musicians there such as the late Dave Evans what a great voice he had. Thanks Jason for the video.
This is incredible. Thank you. My favorite moment is at 28:14 when Don checks his watch after playing a killer break on a buck Ryan fiddle tune. What a bad@##!
Good footage, awesome!!!! Thanks Jason send me the link to that Garfield fella, that is too funny. Also, if you have any Ralph footage from this I’d love to see it.
don’t mind what others think but, nor that the mix on this tape sub par but this is the tightest bluegrass ensemble to grace God’s green and blue Earth; peers? They had none then and you’d better play a tight game now.
I think it's Don's double pickguard Martin D28. But I believe Bill had another one with double pickguards just like it so it's hard to say which it is.
Legends of Bluegrass RIP Don Reno & Bill Harrell. ❤️🙏 Thanks for sharing this awesome live recording.
Can't believe I'm seeing this. I was at this festival. Thanks so much for posting.
I miss the live festivals with all the Bluegrass Legends. So much fun, so many great memories.
Such a class act! Nice work helping Roy Lee Centers family! ❤️🙏

Good stuff Jason, this must have been just before Dale started picking with them.
Correct. I believe Dale went on the road with them in 75
BTW - love the shoes!
I was at that festival. Roy Lee Centers had been killed only a couple or three weeks prior.
Nice!!!
Don and JD Crowe.....the finest!
ブルーグラスフェスに彼らのプレイは欠かせませんね。
