    Happy to see how simple this can be. I drive a 2009 3.8L Galant with 175K miles and my transmission fluid also has some metal particles in it and very dark red in color… I’m afraid of creating transmission problems if I change the fluid. Should I be worried about that? Thanks for the video!

      No just drain and fill the same process what I did for this car you can do the same one just don't take it to someone use machine don't flush all the way

    This video is only a partial flush, that would have only changed about 1/2 the fluid. As per the service manual the proper way is: Disconnect at the radiator, run the car for one minute in neutral causing it to discharge about 3.5L, then drain 2.0L from the from the drain plug and plug it back up again. Even at this point there is still 2.0L in the transmission. You need to then add 2.0L, and once again start the engine and run for 1 minute dumping another 2.0L, which should be dirty, out the radiator connection. Then you can add the final 5.5L. All up it takes 7.5L to 7.7L total. Also before each start go cycle through all selector positions to prime each line. After this you have to *drive* the car for 15minutes and confirm the ATF level is between the "HOT" marks on the dip stick.

      So all the fluid I add will be new? Or am I buying 16 quarts to flush the system?

    • @LessExpensivefix
      @LessExpensivefix  Місяць тому +2

      If you buy 16 quarts of transmission fluid to flush the whole system you can't do that but make sure your car has low mileage if you have over 150,000 MI don't flush the system all the way just don't drain and fill first and see how the car has got to be asked

    Hey I took my 2007 Mitsubishi Galant Ralliart 3.8 for a transmission fluid change at Valvoline and they used a machine to flush out the transmission fluid. Ever since that my transmission has been slipping everytime it shifteds gears. What can I do to fix it? Or what is recommended? Is it bad? Because I thought after the transmission fluid change, my transmission was going to run smoother and it does not

      For Mitsubishi cars some of them come in CVT and some of them come in regular ATF you have to make sure the dipstick says ATF but if it's CVT you have to buy the fluid from the dealership and is better to say a shop to give you exactly what transmission fluid your car you have to use this why I hate working on Mitsubishi cars

    Your not removing all the transmission fluid this way. What about the torque converter fluid that’s still in.

      Some people do like flash transmission full flush I don't recommend. Because you have to see car how much mileage if the never be serviced before so just dream and fail be safe for the transmission to no broke up and the fluid buy it from the dealer because the car check transmission CVT fluid drive the car for 10,000 miles than the process one more time like that you are 100% safe for damage from your transmission if you have any damage before changing the fluid just don't waste your time and take it to a specialist to fix your transmission because even you change your fluid there is no more chance to cut drive better that's why I have to know what's the problem maybe the CVT belt is bad or maybe something else let me know for anything you like to know to give you more information what happened to your car thank you for watching and please like share subscribe to the channel like that we could give you more tricks thank you
