Very realistic explanation. I’m going to run some tests in my townhouse. I already know that I have similar results. 90db playback is basically inaudible. Rock drums with loud bass especially are still a problem if someone is expecting to sleep.

Thanks for this video. Did you do anything special where the outside wall meets the roof trusses? I'm doing a similar build and have been wondering if the typical airflow/venting for the soffit is a problem.
Yes, I have a soffit system. However, a better option is to put special insulation on top of your roof sheathing, but under the shingles. This system still allows proper ventilation, but you can seal off your ceiling entirely from the outside. This is what I should have done had I known the construction technique existed.
