Big thing about Askeladd Dueling Thorfinn is that thorfinn was actually stronger than him but every time he got the upper hand Askeladd would play mind games by bringing up his father. Once he got mad every time his movements were predictable. Hence why Thorfinn could scrap with a titan like thorkell but always lost to a far easier opponent.
OK that's an exagerration. Thorfinn wasn't stronger than Askeladd if anything they were on the same level. In the first fight when he grew up, before Askeladd mention his daddy, Askeladd to could dodge every move and even when Thorfinn disarmed Askeladd, the guy was about caught him which lead to Thorfinn to stay back because it was dangerous and the second time after Bjorn death Askeladd was mad Thorfinn couldn't come close to him because he could smell the danger . Askeladd takes the easy route all the time when he fights Thorfinn to beat him but Thorfinn everytime he was calm and logical to fight Askeladd his logical thinking told him to stay away.
Definitely recommend watching Vinland Saga. CJ didnt go too deep with the characters, but Askeladd is such a good character on top of being an absolute G
Damn you must be messed up in the head. His a good character yes but a so called “G” definitely no, there were things he didn’t need to do that was morally wrong
“They killed all of the villagers because they was in enemy territory and didn’t want the people to tell so they killed them” Sad but he had to do what had to be done
to give you an inkling on how tall Thorkell is; Richard Kiel who played Jaws in the James Bond movies was 7'2. Thorkell is 7'7. and the tallest living person is a turkish farmer named Sultan Kösen, who's 8'2. Thorkell is SHORTER than the tallest living person! edit: Robert Wadlow is the tallest person in written history. the man was 8'11! sadly, he passed away at the age of 22.
But I think Thorkell is 7'2 as well, no? I'm not really good with feet but he's 220cm so it should be 7'2. Edit: So I stand corrected, I looked it up and he's 230 cm, which is around 7'6.5"
@@laurainathunderstorm as a 7'7" person myself, its not easy being this tall, i had a double knee joint replacement at age 23, im now 30 and prefer getting around in a wheelchair than just walking a short distance, not to mention i needed a fancy heart transplant just to keep me alive
Thorkell the Tall was in fact a real person. A powerful general and warrior who served with the king of denmark. His escapades in Vinland saga were only a slight exaggeration.
Fun fact about Thorkel. Most of his feats are indeed "true to the lore" since all we really have about him (like in written history) is small bits of important history and then A LOT of tavern tales so obviously they have been overexaggerated (except his height he really was tall, hence his name) so him being over the top in the show makes 100% sense.

Love the show but wouldn’t recommend watching it due to how brutal and unnecessary some of the decisions made by characters (they were undoubtedly morally wrong). You have to not care about morals to watch this, just a warning. But if you don’t to a degree then I highly recommend you watch it, it’s very good
why wouldn't you watch it just because it's brutal? This was the kind of stuff that really did happen for millennia of human history. Plus the entire point of the story is Thorfinn learning about life and his father's ideals to become a better person. The entire reason is about him gaining morals. Idk why you would need to not care about morals to watch and enjoy it, not like we're watching them kill people irl.

@@sgcastle8389 alr that's pretty fair. Def underrated Askeladd a bit there

They would've left them alone but they needed food and supplies. Then killed then afterwards
But the main reason askeladd actually did it was mercy killing. It was better to kill them than to let them suffer and die through out the cold season

Dang he taller than shaq
Damn, way taller than Sultan Kösem huh?
@@emircanozad914 if you mean Thorkell, then yes, he's shorter than Sultan Kösem. if you mean Robert Wadlow, then he's taller than both of them. :)

Thorkell fused with muscular from mha
Nah he looks like broly 😂
@@Loner_Mike98 what I was saying was what if Muscular’s quirk was fused with Thorkell
It's wild how much of this is lost on you, you're on the outside looking in.
What's funny is that it's a Japanese show, based off of European history and culture, commented on by a African American.
Man why dont you start reactin to anime though im like watchin you two really enjoyin it
