    Hey great review on the SNS Kamado! You are going to really love it!

    You made a good choice. Trust me on this, get the kick ash can to go along with your set up. You don't need the thick cast charcoal holder on the bottom. Just put the ash can in there. You will love it. I think sns has the ash can on their website. If not kick ash does have it.

      Thanks! Yeah, I saw the kick ash can on the site. I might just go ahead and pick one up! Cheers!

      I’m excited to grill up some dishes on it soon! Yep, I’m getting the pool chemistry all dialed in for the summer. Cheers, Tink!

    Great video! I’ve had the SNS Kamado for about 9 months and it’s been my go-to. I have 2 pellet smokers, a WSM, and 2 kettles. The SNS Kamado just seems to be the one I enjoy using the most. I bought the FireBoard temp control fan for it and I have found I simply don’t need it. I lock in the temps and that’s where it stays. Looking forward to future content from you with the SNSK!

      You are not the first person to tell me that exact thing on temp control. I’ve noticed it with a couple of test cooks that the temp does seem to hold nice and steady as you have indicated. I agree, I have several options for grilling/smoking and I always have the most fun with kamados. Cheers!

    That was a great video, James. I’m still a gas grill guy but I’ve been thinking about getting a smoker. I’m not sure what brands are available in NZ but I know what features to look for now. Thank you for that.

      Thanks, Robert! I know folks choose gas grills for simplicity and immediate cooking time. But after grilling on wood and coal for so long, there’s just something about all that extra flavor you get from wood and coal that keeps me coming back. I know you can buy little add-on items for gas grills to bring some of that extra flavor profile to one. You would love a Kamado my friend. What brand you decide on depends on what you want features-wise. This just hit every mark I look for in a Kamado. Cheers and I’m always grateful for you sticking around as well as anyone else who has been with my channel for so long!

    What do you think of the SNS Grills Kamado Generation 2 model!?! It would be cool for someone to make a video on that new Gen 2 because nobody has done one and it’s been out for a while…

      I haven’t used it but I spent enough for a bit on grills lol.

    Very nice grill. I'm excited to see what you smoke with it. I remember your Akorn days too. I learned the hard way not to use a water pan for poultry (makes the skin rubbery instead of crispy). Cheers.

      I’ve taken it for a couple of test drives and it’s amazing! I’m gonna do a small pork butt on it my first vid and see how it goes! It’s just an awesome grill design-wise. Cheers!

    How does it measure up to the Kamado Joe: Big Joe 3?

    • @TheBrewQ
      @TheBrewQ  2 роки тому

      I’m not sure as I’ve never owned a Kamado Joe grill. I can say that this Kamado is my favorite out of the 3 others I’ve tried.

    I had a Sns kamado and sold it because the more i got familiar with it the more i felt like it was a Louisiana Grills 24" Ceramic Kamado with some upgrades to stainless. Just felt like the price i paid was worth it vs the bargain louisiana, went and bought a Pk 360, was ok cooker but found it too small for the family. Ended up with the Weber Summit Kamado and its been great, very easy to bring temp down if overshoot and the weight savings i can move it around my yard without worry of cracking or getting 3 buddies to help me lift it lol.

      I hear ya. Yeah, this Kamado is actually not made by the same folks that make the Louisiana grills/pit boss grills kamados. This one is made of a more durable ceramic with a higher volume of quarterite. Supposed to be a more solid ceramic build. I love the stainless upgrades on it and the extra built-in rim for the spin grate. Glad you found a grill that fits your needs for sure! Cheers!

      There are other brands that look exactly the same as this as far stainless cart and other exterior parts. Granted you don’t get the same grates or the slow and sear. I suspect there are only a few, at most, kilns in china that manufacture these and companies contract the individual features for their brand.

      True but I did have a Louisiana grills/Pit Boss one with a steel cart and the cart actually developed some rust. I have had this for months in Houston’s humid /slightly salty air and it’s got not a speck of rust on it at all.
