What a beautiful and functional Shimano. I only am able to go surf fishing about 6 to 8 times a year. After each trip I do a basic disassembly of the reels I used and see if any internal cleaning or lubrication is needed, inspect all the parts for any wear or damage, reassemble the reel, and then wipe it down thoroughly with some gun cleaning wipes that are safe for the reel and will preserve and protect the external finish and parts. At the end of the year I do a complete cleaning and lubrication as well as inspection of the entire reel. I have a schedule I follow to care for all my reels at different rime intervals. With over 250+ reels it keeps me busy. I enjoyed your video Dennis! - Chris
Wanted to say thanks for your very informative videos. I am big fan of the Penn 209, I purchased 2 of the new ones and 2 of the old USA made Peer 209's. Learned so much from your videos that I was able to successfully diagnose and order parts and repair the reels.
hi i was wonder how to i fix my clicker problem i just got a brandnew trinidad but when i turn on the clicker its soft and sounds like a grinding sound
Hmm - if it is brand new, send it back to Shimano. It could be a defective part or bad installation at the factory. It should be covered under warranty - Dennis
There is a plastic carrier for the free spool release. It is likely broken and would need to be replaced - That would be the first item I would check. There could be other causes, like broken line of a jammed Yoke mechanism, but the carrier would be my first place to start - Dennis
a lot of product manufactures must have intense training programs for training the personnel that stuff products in to a box that it will only fit in to once
I was actually talking to a packaging engineer not too long ago. It is all about shipping costs, not customer convenience. The smaller the box and less weight, the more they can ship for less. Thanks

1 a day will take you a year of weekdays which leaves the weekend for fishing! Good plan Chris - be well Dennis

Thanks Dennis, is the gold 30tn basically the same procedure?
Yes, it is
My little bearings from the handle were all busted , is there a good place to order that tiny bearing?
Try Bocabearings.com

I have a Torium 20 that will not free spool. The free spool lever will NOT go in the down position.

What if I can't keep my 30A to stay in neutral while casting. The clutch lever keeps flipping to drive upon casting.
You need to take the reel apart and check for a broken part. It could be the clutch lever spring or trip lever mechanism - Dennis

I have also purchased items from Ebay sellers that excelled in putting products in boxes I can never get it back in to
