Mohamed: A cartoonist was once fired at Charlie Hebdo over (another unrelated) cartoon. Muslims are a suppressed minority & you're bound to have a backlash from them. Disrespectful cartoons fuel discrimination against Islam and lead to qualified Muslims being denied jobs.

This was a garbage interview, come on CBC.
The second guest didn't even answer questions the he was asked. Please be fair and hold the same scrutiny for everyone on the program. If you are an interviewer and your guest is clearly being evasive call them out on it. It's annoying to watch because there is almost zero relevant Information given and above all insulting to the audience.

You are rigjht, everybody is insulted nowadays and starts his private war. 30 years ago, all these discrimination and religion problems, never existed & never were an issue.
Finally someone who thinks like me. In my view the most discriminatory person is a 25 year old woman. She wants to date a tall, handsome, 6 figures, succesfull guy. And good for her. That's fantastic. She has the right to seek for the best man available. I am a mexican physician. I wouldn't want to live in a Muslim country. To be honest I would visit those countries in order to learn what's not the right way of living.

Yeah they do; the right to freedom of speech, expression, movement (etc.) are all values that are NON NEGOTIABLE in any democratic country. Democracy does NOT mean that anything (including the destruction of freedom) goes. Our values stand as a whole, and they are untouchable. To brag about somebody's willingness to assimilate to democratic values in democratic countries is so repugnant. Anyone who does not accept and undermines those values does not belong in a position of power within a democratic society.

Any 6 year old can tell the difference between an ideology whose major exports to the world are oil and terror and the teaching of Jesus Christ who preaches love God and love your neighbor as yourself.

It is important for any immigrant moving to a new country to assimilate into the ethics of that country and community. Freedom is a separation of church and government. No religion should dictate how the country or government is run. You can have an opinion but, you have no right to dictate to your new country. This is true especially for the people’s asking for sanctuary from violence and internal wars.

The interviewer said that the last five Nobel Prizes have been won by Muslims. Is he referring to prizes in economics or the sciences? Or to the peace prize? The latter is more political in nature.

Everytime violence is threatened or worse, done over anything written or drawn, the world should reprint it. It doesn't matter if it's insulting.... It's words on paper or lines drawn. Whining about "Discrimination" is for children, and the "Jewish Problems" and "Muslim Problems" are two completely different and unrelated phenomena.
The problem with moderate muslims is trust. When they so called "condemn" these violent acts by muslims are they telling the truth? How do we know if they are not deceiving us since the Quran says in Quran 3:54, 7:99, and 8:30 :" allah is the best of deceivers". Just saying, something to think about.
Why dont people understand, that at the very least, one need to feel comfortable and happy in their country of birth. The idea that Islam being ok, means it justifies its spread over other cultures, leaving people with no country of their own. We dont take this approach in nature. When common foreign grey squirrels out compete local, native reds, with nowhere else to go, we take a dim view to say the least. Not because reds are superior. Culture is colour, mix them all you get grey, GREY! Multiculturalism has no argument, no logic, its a joke, its anti-culture. Tourism will have little purpose but for a warm beach. On the foreign policy, we love to attack Moslem nations from Libya, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and now lusting to go to Iran. Mr. Styen, please stop this crap of blaming others. The Muslim spokesman is talking past the issue. Is he claiming that the horrific acts of violence that we have witnessed since, for example, the fatwa against Salman Rushdie in 1989, have nothing to do with Islam? If so, this is exactly the problem that provokes fear of Muslims and their religion.
I can accept that there are religious extremists that will occassionally use violent means. What I cannot accept is that there are apologists for this behaviour. I think that this is the point that Mr Steyn is making.
