Emeline, sei bellissima! Ed è bello che non metti in mostra il tuo corpo come la maggior parte delle ballerine di tutte le danze (ad eccezione di hip hop e freestyle). Il tuo stile è molto femminile ed elegante a tuo modo. Una scelta coraggiosa! Her expressivity ( and his too) is beyond great. The choice of moves for this particular music and the execution is spot on.
It must have helped that the music is inspiring and fits her (their) style.
They seem to have spent quite some time creating and perfecting every little detail.
And the result is sublime.
I wonder whether you realise that this was an improvisation... 🤔
A really brilliant one, to be sure, but the incredible attention to every little detail ist the result and benefit of having been dancing with each other for several years and being able to read each other exceptionally well.
@@ktinxx I seriously doubt it's an improvisation. Just because the event has the word "improv" in it, does not necessarily mean it was all improvised on the spot. Strict meaning of improvisation in performing arts is: creating something new for the first time in front of an audience. This goes for music (which I'm more qualified to talk about) and I presume it goes for dance as well. I can tell you with certainty this: they both know that particular music very well (how many beats before every transition, before every interesting sound effect), and that it was not the first time they danced on it. Exactly what part of it was "improv" perhaps you can tell me, since you seem to be familiar with these dancing events.
@@felixzadori It was an improvisation and not a choreographed piece of dance because if asked to dance to that exact same piece of music, they would not be able to reproduce the exact same piece of dance, however well they may know the music. It goes to show how incredibly in tune with the music and with each other they are that one might think all this was choreographed (i.e., repeatable). It was not.
@@felixzadori Since you come from music (Jazz?), you must be familiar with scales. A jam session where musicians create something equally unrepeatable together often amazes non-musicians because they cannot believe that what they have listened to has never been played before (and never will be, for that matter). But this is due to the fact that (jazz) musicians have a giant pool of material to work with and choose and from. Same with dance. Over the years, J'Em have built an enormous vocabulary which they create from in every instance. Of course, certain phrases may appear (= scales), but how they enter or exit these and if they exercise them fully or just hint at them, is a spur of the moment decision. It's to my mind the highest level of skill in any performance art because it requires total awareness, listening ability, and formidable technique as well as humility: relaxing into the moment, trusting yourself, your partner, and the process, being in control - but giving up control.
@@ktinxx Thank you for your thorough answer. I'm now inclined to believe you. The fact this particular performance was not meticulously rehearsed makes it even more remarkable. To me, we're in "magic" territory with a spontaneous live performance like that. My classical music background allows me to say that over-rehearsing music often kills the "life" , the "magic" in a concert, it becomes a mechanical rehearsed reading of sheet music. So then one wonders if artists that just allow themselves to "go with the flow" , just "get in the zone" and let things happen as you feel in that moment, if that isn't a much better approach to art.
But then I imagine some "improv" performers produce a lot of crap art. Not these two dancers though!

I have to ask since I'm new to this: is Everything improvised? And do they get to hear the songs before?? It looks sooo smooth
It's definitely improvised. Since this is a demo and not a competition, they probably do know what the song is going to be beforehand, or maybe one of them does and the other doesn't. But they won't have discussed how to dance to it.
