I shared a French buttercream tutorial a while ago, this is the updated version! Not a huge difference, but I made the steps a little more simple with a slightly different amount of ingredients. I hope it helps!!
I know from my own experience that French and Italian buttercream are difficult to master, but once you get it right, there's nothing like them. Delicate and delicious. Yours look's fantastic. Thank you so much ❤
Aya, thanks for the recipe, I had made Swiss buttercream, using your recipe then thought to use the yolks to make French buttercream. It turned out fabulous, it was my first time making French buttercream I will definitely make it again! ❤

All this time I thought buttercream icing was butter and sugar. That’s lot of hard work. I’m definitely not going to complain about how expensive cupcakes are. Love from Texas
Hi there! If I want to add passion fruit puree to the butter cream, which kind should I use, French, Italian or Swiss butter cream? Since you said it might turn watery, how can I add fruit taste to this if passion fruit puree is not a choice? Big thanks!
Great tutorial as always but I have a question: I like chocolate and raspberry buttercreams, can I use a chocolate ganache instead of the syrup or a sweetened raspberry purée ?
It’ll just take longer time to reach the temperature. I never tried it with a lot more amount like the double amount of water, but I assume the same thing will happen! With a lot less amount of water, I find the sugar tends to crystallize more easily.

You are right, American buttercream is made by whipping butter and powdered sugar😊 It’s also popular frosting since it’s quick to make!
This is a great video tutorial! Instant sub. ❤

Great tutorial as always but I have a question: I like chocolate and raspberry buttercreams, can I use a chocolate ganache instead of the syrup or a sweetened raspberry purée ?
can i use electronic hand whisk in lieu of stand mixer?
Jammy and cool
Just curious, does the amount of water matter, or does that evaporate while the sugar comes to a boil?

Not sure if this is the same taste as the American buttercream but I don’t like theirs wonder if this one is better
Every time I make buttercream it separates and I have to put the bowl in a warm bath to bring it back together
Did she change her old recipe?
