Hey Brian, great video. I know this is an older video but I think you really stumbled across something here. I have been watching countless hours of film on grappling as a whole. Studying the greats. Everyone from Korelin, Gene Mills, Gordon Ryan, Jordan Borough, and all the modern BJJ competitors. I am beginning to believe that there is an untapped freestyle leg lacing series that is yet to be developed for competition and this video really put it into perspective for me and how it is currently being applied to BJJ. I have come to the conclusion that freestyle leg lacing may be a possible answer because what we see in competition now is leg entanglements and move after move that forces competitor to play this game of battling between 50/50, ashi garami, outside ashi, saddle and leg knots. I am not saying that freestyle leg lacing is the answer to getting out of these less than advantageous positions, but using freestyle leg lacing as a type of defense to stop these positions from ever even forming may be a very viable option in establishing a dominant position where you can come out on top. As for offensive entries from freestyle leg lacing, that is what I am currently trying to figure out.
Hi professor 👋🏼 Just want to say that the way your teach is amazing, I feel like in an kids class for adults hahah admire you a lot and can’t wait to start trying this pass Thank you
Hello Brian, could you maybe explain what to do from the position in 3:55 (bottom player) i find myself sometimes in this position when attempting outside ashi

Your arm posts are really good details, without them this becomes a million times harder 🙏🏻
Great - glad it helps!

Great to hear - thank you :)
Thanks Brian for this awesome pass! Would the approach still be the same in gi?
Yes - plus the added benefit of stronger grips on the pants and lapel 🙂
Hello Brian, could you maybe explain what to do from the position in 3:55 (bottom player) i find myself sometimes in this position when attempting outside ashi
Yes - managing the flank/leg drag. We’ll get it 👌🏼
Hi Brian, love your videos...where do you teach on the regular?
Brooklyn :)
Thank you professor.!
You bet!
Sometimes when i made first step above knee shield, partner went on his back. Then I entered my leg insidethe half guard leg and did knee cut
Great tips thanks a lot , how do we stop the knee cut / float pass?
Start with a frame for distance and leg pommelling to recover the knee line. We'll cover it more in depth one day 👍
@@bzglick thank you coach , the through passes specially the float pass are a nightmare for me specially butterfly/ semigaichi to leglock is my game
What is the plan of action if you cannot pin the arm to the mat?
Usually you can - he’s incentivized to use the bottom arm to defend your knee position so it’s in range. If not, you can wrap the head.
stealthy
😉
