- I found the best free game of the entire year.
All you have to do is protect your tree by growing a beautiful garden to stop the onslaught of weird little goo monsters. Naturally some rocket launchers will do that easily.

This game was made for a game jam! A competition where you make a game within a certain timeframe (1 weeks in that case if I recall properly) around a certain theme. I played it, and participated in the jam. Very good submission!

This reminds me a lot of a flash game called bloom defender.
It’s a tower defense game similar to bloons and the enemies and units in that look very similar

i hope the dev makes an update where the tree will become transparent when you're planting behind it, and collectables will be on top of it instead of behind it.

lol.. have you never known Kongregate? or any other free online game website from the past? These games are as basic as can be, we had more complex free games 15 years ago. It's crazy being 28 and seeing kids experience such a bad time in gaming.. we had it so good back in our teenage days.
@@OArchivesX the reason those websites arent made anymore is because games have evolved so much to the point where with a one time purchase you get hundreds of hours of top tier gameplay, add the fact that there are services like PS+ that give you dozens of triple A games for 10 bucks a month and it makes sense why these old adobe flash games are no longer successful

It's amazing, but I think that's mainly because more and more people are groing weary of greedy cash-grabbing lazily and poorly made AAAs. The game market has become so saturated with COD-like shooters and battle royales and all that bullshit, it's nice to see indie devs actually doing stuff for the people to enjoy!

@@lemolea9571 nobody pays for them, the script to set them up is surprisingly simple iirc. ( I only looked into it a while back, so methods could have very much changed) But from the admittedly minimal research I did, You can pretty much just copy paste the code and make a few edits and the bot will run passively. It’s sad that code is being used so maliciously.

Cute little game development project, but super easy. I played on the hardest difficulty and realized hedge walls and bramble are completely pointless. You can just spam flowers and use them as mini hedge walls since you can plant 3 for a little more than the price of one hedge wall and they actually do damage. Even while playing this way, I wasn't losing money. Then the plant you unlock after wave 17 puts the game on autopilot. I'm just gonna run the game in the background for all eternity and see if the waves ever get strong enough to kill me in my sleep.

Idea: boss battles like wendigos that move really fast and desroy spikes unless their golden, it would also have a dash attack that destroys most plants it touches and backups to the brown section when it takes enough dmg

Tbf the IP owners of the other game that doesn't exist are pricks and turned to microtransactions, tried to make a battle royale game themed off of it. I do like that game which you can still buy and play, but this is free, so no harm done.

Another Strong Tip: Make 3 layers of daisies then spikes 1 space away from the daisies and then add a layer of Hedge walls in between

Huge Tip: If you're playing this game it's best to plant when the wave is over and wait for the wave to start instead of forcing the evil to come quickly because your garden will grow much much MUCH stronger
