How to Drift Launch a Kiteboarding Kite

There is a lot of crap in one of the spots that I drift launch at so what I do is hold the two center lines under a little bit of tension while I let out the kite lines . This way the lines can't coil up and less likely to get snagged on sticks or seaweed or whatever is in the water. Looks like you don't have that problem but just a suggestion if you go somewhere that does!

Same here. What i do is I pull the safety line completely (just like when you quickrelease) before rolling the line on the bar.
Once in the water, the kite will rest safely on the safety line then i unroll my lines while walking upwind until i feed the safety line back in the bar.
What i do are all the step of a selfrescue in reverse.
