I figured it out! Sweet! Uninstall Elementor and use something else. Works perfect now. I was beginning to wonder why this doesn't happen with any other plugins or themes...
I did a migration to another host and started to get this error. I followed your tip Settings > Permalinks > Save and it started to work again. Thank you so much!
I've been having trouble with this for hours, but I understand now. The only way to fix this is to follow the instructions for "Creating A Blog or Any Archive Template with Elementor Pro". There is a link in the description where it says "Blog". Since the "Posts page" is NOT a regular page, you CANNOT treat it as such. Therefore, whenever you want to edit the Posts page, you have to edit the template (after you've created the template using the instructions above). You can do this by going to "Templates" in left sidebar > "Add New" > CLOSE the window that pops up > Find template that you created > "Edit with Elementor" Hope this helps.
Thank you, Thought all of my work needed rebuilt! Just the Woocommerce settings under the Products tab. Removed the Shop page designation and it immediately brought it all back.
I changed the Permalink, saved it, then set it back to what it was (custom) and now it's all working again. Damn. Spent 3 days on this shit. I was ready to reset everything and do it all from scratch. Thanks a lot for this exhaustive list of possible causes and very well explained potential solutions.
When using Jetpack Boost. Disable this option: "Concatenate JS". Having this enabled breaks the Elementor edit-preview. So make sure "Concatenate JS" is disabled! Took me hours to figure this issue out.
I was able to fix getting this error for the blog post page, only, by going into Settings=>Reading and changing Your Homepage Displays back to Your Latest Posts. I’d previously tried to set at Static Page...maybe that messed it up?
Hi Ziv, thanks for this video. I love your and Aviva's explanations, she is very didactical too. I subscribed to Elementor to try it out because I don't want too much work or a headache. Ask the Elementor dev team to do their job. Instead of doing this whole process, I'm also thinking and studying the new WordPress 5.9/Gutemberg and the 2022 Theme, at least I won't have to pay to have a headache. Tks.
I bought Elementor Pro and I find it so unfortunate that these things happen, especially since it is a paid plugins, and with all your team and programmers you do not foresee this type of error, the solutions you present are so superficial and it is up to me Try to solve it by other means. I started working with a tab inside others and svg type elements and it immediately began to generate 505 errors. I have updated today to the new version (2.6.0) and now i get this error! ‘Your site’s .htaccess file appears to be missing.’ please resolve it soon i need to work on my website!
I totally agree with you Niaz Khan. Error messages are themselves an enigma. Always try changing your Permalink setting, save, and change them back the way you want them. This usually works 90% of the time. Still, trying to decipher Elementor's errors is a pain in the *** and sometimes, even experienced web dev can't do it. I think I will be switching to Gutenberg with Astra Pro for, like João Almeida said, I don't want to pay money just to have to go to the pharmacy and buy aspirin because of Elementor or any other paid page builders.
@@hassaannoor Thanks! I will do the same as soon as I get some time. I've been busy working on projects, thus I couldn't find time to work on my own website. Peace😃
Man, I can send you $100 for this. Just went to settings - permalinks - save changes. Dint change anything else and it resolved the issue. Thanks again!!
Thnak you, you helped me out. I had the error "the preview could not be loaded" when i tried to edit my pages by Elementor. As you suggested i tried to open the edit page from a new Incognito view then the edit page displaied in the right way. And in normal mode the Elementor editor page comes back right after I cleaned the cookie of my browser.
Other case I experienced: posts were migrated from another WordPress with another theme (and no page builder), so in wp_post_metadata some posts had (for meta_key='wp_page_template') a meta_value with a PHP file that didn't exist anymore, which triggered the error message. Maybe a check could be added in the code for such cases, to help troubleshoot them.
To edit category pages with Elementor, I need to first set permalinks to 'plain', then edit the pages (while every page returns a 404 error, mind you), then set the permalinks setting back to 'site name' when done. I'm not entirely satisfied with this solution.
My blog posts page won't allow me to edit in elementor as before. I've tried changing theme, deactivating all plugins, activated safe mode. I was able to edit after changing theme, but when I changed it back to OceanWP, happened again. Going to try to design my Blog Posts page in the theme builder...I've gotten pretty good with that lately through trial/error.
Every time I update elementor, I can no longer edit my pages without knowing this error. I find it painful at the end. Other editors do not have this problem. Because of this, on certain themes I go with Divi or Bakery. Why always have these same problems under Elementor ???
"this error can also occurs when you try to edit your blog page" but you don't explain how to solve it. It's actually my case, I can't edit my blog page although I tried everything you said on the video. Any help?

the first thing you should be telling people to try is to simply reload the page, it worked for me, but this also means it was not caused by an extension, or a plugin or a theme, etc.
I am getting "The preview could not load due to the response being incomplete." I accidentally deleted a plugin and cannot remember the name of it. I believe this is why I am getting this message. I have tried your methods but still cannot fix the problem... I am guessing that if I find and reinstall the deleted plugin it will work. How can I find the name of the deleted plugin? Thank you for all your knowledge and help!

It also happened to me on the site I have, but I noticed that it was the WordPress update from 5.1.1 to 5.2.2 and in this case I went back to the previous update, that is, from 5.2.2 to 5.1.1 and returned to normal operation, for new sites I'm installing version 5.1.1. The strange thing is that there were no configurations on the server, new plugins in Wordpress, nothing, gave error and done! Now I'm using this version until I fix this bug, if corrected.
