Hello and welcome to my adult coloring channel. Thank you for being here, and welcome to my recent subscribers. I share my completed pages video for April and May 2024. I have shown some work in progress too. Not all as I am saving some of those pages for when I share my project books in July 2024. I colored in some new books and illustrators to me to keep it interesting. There's still so much to learn. Audio is a mix: Some of the content has chat, some has gentle ocean sounds, and some ambient music. Just mute if you don't like music. 00:00 Introduction 00:24 completed pages, focus books, work in progress books 12:45 buddy colors, chatty 25:19 watercolor books and other pages, WIPs 29:35 Thoughts, wrap up, late spring I also spent some time organising my full book shelves and swatching new cheap art supplies found in the sales. So I did not get around to doing some of the pages, new books, or themes I was planning to start. I mostly used: Alcohol markers - Ohuhu and Spectrum Noir Crayola washable supertip pens Neo color 2 crayons Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils Polychromos and Prismacolor pencils glitter pens Acrylic pens watercolor and metallic paints CD Museum wc pencils I tried for the first time Derwent drawing pencils Derwent Academy watercolor pencils Castle arts 120 watercolor pencils Pentel and Staedtler watercolor pencils. Spectrum Noir illustrator and classique markers Patimiyar acrylic brush paint pens (2 colors per pen) I have been super impressed with the Crayola supertips used as a watercolor. They can be applied super saturated to really washed out. Love them (paper depending). I'm also loving my gifted Caran D'Ache Museum wc pencils. A little bit goes a long way. Wonderful pages dear 🐝! I’m so impressed by your alcohol marker and watercolour skills. Your new project with Mr 🐝 looks so fun..what a wonderful find! and to find other rare dot books by the same author is so exciting.. Great job on your buddy colours with Amanda and Niki..well done ladies 👏. Thank you for buddying with me! Adorable little 🐿️ 🐿️ 💕😊
It's so nice when you do family projects (here with your partner), I like seeing this kind of thing. 🥰 You made such beautiful pages! I love your “Starry night” sky. It's a shame I never thought of doing that, as I love seeing that style in paintings. Thank's for the nature photos you shared 💚
Wow! That Matsuda project book is soooo awesome!! I have no words. 🤯 So much goodness here. I love everything you do. Cute squirrels in your garden too. 🤍🖖👽
So many stunning pages Bee! I way love the Tea Salon page and the monomania page with all the fish. The rays of light on that one are amazing! Of course I love the sea turtle page too! The dot to dot is so fun! Congrats on colouring in so many new books too! Always a great achievement
Not sure if you have access in your part of the world, but here in the US we have two dot to dot magazines I used to be more than a bit addicted to. One is called Dot Dot Dot, and the other is Blissful Dot to Dot. They come out about six times a year and each page is about 500-1000 dots. Very relaxing.
Lovely Pages Bee! Thanks for the mention of the group buddy color in the wreath book. We will have one for the summer pictures after 6/21 Hope to see you then 💕
Hey.. I discovered a new trick today.. you can activate watercolor, neocolor, or inktense with alcohol blender marker. I tested all three. Might be old news to some but I had no idea. It's not 100% the same as the watercolor method, you can't get those fun blooms... but it works AMAZING on Amazon paper, and I have the US paper which is about as bad as it gets. I can get all those lovely white highlights and transitional blends and ZERO warping or damage... none it's perfectly flat and smooth.. no bleed through at all.. and it's SO fast. I just did a entire Matchstick Mouse page in about an hour. I didn't even need to go back in with pencil on top, it was "insta-awesome" lol. I went for the "watercolor look" but I don't see why you couldn't go saturated as well.. just stylistic choice. You do have to put the pencil down on the paper first, and it won't move much so plan accordingly (it's actually easier that way once I got the hang of it, you know exactly where your color is going to go.. really easy to keep your highlights), but you don't have to be terribly accurate and it blends very smooth. Total game changer. I'm off to go hunt up my old Ohuhu blenders lol.. I know they are around here somewhere (I used a Copic because it was the one I had at hand and Copics smell awful, yuck).... and order a few more books I've been wanting but didn't want to deal with the Amazon paper.
Hi. If you have seen my recent All my colored pages in Sea of colors you'll see I tried this and didn't like it on that Amazon paper. It bled through. Each to their own, but great it worked out for you and you can now get the books you desired :) I guess it depends how new and juicy the blender pen is, my Ohuhu was new, so very runny and washed out all the inktense pigment. Same if it were a new waterbased blender pen. I compare the difference on one of my pages in the video mentioned. I prefer to use old blenders on amazon paper. I found the alcohol blender pens don't have the same blending ability in moving the pigment like waterbased ones. They dry much too fast IMHO. Thanks for your thoughts and for watching, enjoy coloring in your new books.
@@Beecosy I'm sorry, that is so strange. I've used both a copic and an ohuhu (brand new never been used), with both inktense and supracolor soft so far and both pages came out awesome. I wonder if it's because our Amazon papers are different, being from different countries? They definitely don't move the pigment like water, but I just adjusted how I applied the pencil in the initial application to account for it. Anyhow, I'm over here like a kid with a new favorite toy.
It's so frustrating how publishers put out these watercolor books on completely inappropriate paper. I can only wonder how many budding artists pick one up, struggle and blame their own skills, and don't pursue the medium further because of it. If they aren't going to put good paper in the book, at least they could include a packet of loose sheets with the sketch on them...
