Gayathiri always does a good job. Today's concert was good. MAyamALavagauLai, brindAvana sAranga, and karaharapriya were done well. She delivered "villinai oththa..." of Bharathi in its entirety. Commendable, indeed! She had a little mess-up in the lyrics. She dropped one line "sokki maramena ninRanai thenmalaik kATTilE.." Instead she used another line "pArppanak kOlam..." a few times.

can someone enlighten me the Kharaharapriya (Pakkala Nilabadi) is something different from the normal slow tempo rendition. What is this called ? I may be wrong - To me this Pakkala Nilabadi is little unconventional but i could not figure out what is the difference.
Excellent concert !! Ideally, she is junior M S amma. She is very planned and renders unhurriedly doing justice to the raga alapana as well as the lyrics of the kriti she is rendering. The accompanying artists have also done very well. God bless them all !!
