I actually got the special version of this kit, the Shin Musha Gundam Sengoku no Jin, for free because of a shipping error^^ I was really pissed because I pretty much got this instead of the MG Sinanju Titanium Finish version. But then I built it and it turned out to be one of my favorite MGs.
Thought I'd continue the necro trend and say: Yeah, I thought I'd stop at buying a barbatos HG, but then the gimmicks sold me and now I own three of them, plus the 00 HG.
About where he got the wood; maybe the Shin Type Musha started out the same size as other Musha and when they became bigger, their weapons grew with them.
Wow! Great Custom and review. The colors were set very nicely and suited each other. But the white really does not go with the entire gundam. I think maybe if you add some shading to the white and some gray mist, it would look perfect. Great job.
Hey there Jabman, I'm a Gunpla amateur collector but I'm getting better and the better I become the more I wish to paint my Gundams. Yet I live in a very humid (kinda london city like weather) place, it rains very often and it's rarely dry so I don't know if I'm safe to paint my models (with spray cans) outside. Can you tell me if humidity affects spray can painting ? (normally it does but I'm still asking, am not so sure about it) Anyways thx for your vids :) Also your focus sux :p
can you do a tips n tricks video? i thought your stylus trick for the decals was genius, but I still have trouble with the nubs from the tray. I'm also not the best painter in the world either; I've got pretty shaky hands.
Jabman, I only have one question, when, if ever, do you think we will start seeing TV design MG releases for the Wing kits, we have the Wing Gundam, and Tallgeese is easily converted, but I want Deathscythe, Heavy Arms, and the like, these are what I wanna see, hey, maybe some Leo's, or Taurus, even some Aries? Please tell me they will be coming out. It would be awesome to make a complete battle scene from the show out of show correct MG kits.
Hey jabman, I'm having trouble with painting my MG 00 Gundam, trying to do an Ironman theme to it. I'm using the same red and gold that you're using here. Do you spray each piece individually or all together? What do you do with extra paint that's trying to drip off but doesn't? Any tips to get a smooth coat in? First time spray painting, any words of wisdom is greatly appreciated
love your reviews jabman :) nice work.. question I have been wondering what is better MG,HG,RG ? am getting into gundam and leaving car models and I was wondering what of those three are good.
+Jose M A bit late to the party i know, but info is always useful. I have built all types of those you mentioned before and to me High grade is like a test sample, nice to build but lacking in challenge and detailing, very soon boring to build when you discovered better versions but theyre nice to start with. Next type is Master grade, theyre great to build some of them can give you a nightmare to do but you will eventually find out a way, just take your time and you will be fine. Perfect grade is for those that you absolutely love to have in best possible way. Theyre big so they will eat space for you and some of them will drop their stuff even worse than any other version, but if you let it just stand like a brick on your shelf you will be fine. They demand more from you to do since the detailing is almost crazylike but it will pay off when your done. Personaly i would choose MG versions, theyre best height for me and great in detailing and looks even better with some paint, just like Jabmans Gundam here in this video, but i dont use the spray prefer to do it by hand
this is just me being a weapon nut but the katana sheath should be upside down the curve should face up so that the sharpness of the blade dont get messed up
+Kitsune It doesn't actually affect the sharpness of the blade. The Katana was held blade up as more of a change in style than anything. Tachi however were sheathed blade-side down.
***** and I'm assuming you spray paint your pieces? I've only painted one kit so far and that was the ew heavyarms. I used a brush and painted them on the plastic rungs
pixelman619 yeah I found that too, after I commented on this I realized the model wasn't bandai, it was Dayan or something so I wouldn't recommend buying that one. :)
the simplest answer is the classification of the model on the box, but a general rules is a complete inner frame, decals, more accessories, and high level of detail overall in the kit.
Spear = Yari
Lance = Naginata
looks amazing! You convinced me to order it.
maybe the spear and the naginata is not make of woods, but gundanium aloy thats painted to looked like wood 0w0
+Uston Lim i didnt say it made from wood.

Best I have ever seen. You have amazing skill.
I remember doing the silver paint with clear yellow for the pipes. Love this kit. Nice work. :D
I love the finished look of this kit; Well done detailing.
maybe I should Start Hobbying this
Arnold Vincent Kudales it's a lot of fun to get into. already built 2 kits so far and can't wait to get more.
Thought I'd continue the necro trend and say: Yeah, I thought I'd stop at buying a barbatos HG, but then the gimmicks sold me and now I own three of them, plus the 00 HG.
Great review man, would love to see a top 5 or 10 master grades list from your perspective and maybe some future speculation!
Well when you think about it samurai weren't all that flexible either so it makes a little sense to restrict some movement.
About where he got the wood; maybe the Shin Type Musha started out the same size as other Musha and when they became bigger, their weapons grew with them.
I like the model kit. It looks sweet. I'm going to build one for my friend. Purple for the red.

this may be one of my favourites
Hey mate your gundam shin musha are neats. Thanks for sharing :)
great paint job
Very nice metallic paint job.
The Sengoku no Jin version is simply beautiful. Nice job on the build jabman, thanks for sharing ^_^
For giggles: which would you want a MG of, the Lumber Gundam or the Tequila Gundam?

you should do a review of the Shin Musha II
From what I can tell, I'll probably just be redoing the gold. Plus I'm short on red. Are the stripe and flame decals dry transfer or water slide?
dry transfer, but they do sell a waterslide set for this kit
Thank you very much. That helped me a lot.
I love it!
Just picked up this bad boy, anything that i should look out for when i build it?

will you build the musha mk ii
how many coats did you spray on all the parts? i've tried spray paint on my MG Strike. but it adds too much for 1 layer of paint. ty!
love your reviews jabman :) nice work.. question I have been wondering what is better MG,HG,RG ? am getting into gundam and leaving car models and I was wondering what of those three are good.
+Jose M All of them!
lol nice yea I started my first build PG unicorn :)

I never built a kit before. Would you recommend this one?
mine is line a mate dark red with some weathering
You should do review on gundam Penelope
10:41 is where parents should shield their kids XD
Should have used gold foil craft paper.....Yeah it would have took longer but it would have look even better.
So shiny and glossy...
this is just me being a weapon nut but the katana sheath should be upside down the curve should face up so that the sharpness of the blade dont get messed up

what type of paints did you use
what are you using to hold your parts to dry?
Dani Hernandez a bamboo skewers with a alligator clip to hold it and you can just paint, topcoat, etc
Cool gundam
bro I got more spare parts for the shin musha but I don't know what are they for like the I parts
nice review
does he have a place for an action base? also would you recommend this or the shin musha II more?? thanks!
yes it does have an action base connection, haven't built the mk ii yet, so can't compare the two
Ok. Thanks! I was also wondering if you used air brush or spray cans ang if it's cans how do you mask for small parts?
Also if you suggested an air brush which would you suggest?
Louis Grayson I use spray cans, to mask the parts I will use blue painters tape
+Louis “JadeGrayStorm3” Grayson badger 105 Patriat is a good all around brush it can do fine lines to general coating
hello I'm a novice Gundam model builder. I was wondering if you could tell me where you get your model kits? Thank you for the help.
Not Jabman, but...
Amazon (direct, not resellers)
HobbyLinkJapan
Ami Ami
...are good starts.
hobby link japan mostly, but lately you can get gunpla on amazon, ebay, and even some barnes and noble stores.
what are you using to hold the pieces up? the stick looking things
ZombryaTheDark they're just cut up shish kabobs sticks with sticky tack on them
***** and I'm assuming you spray paint your pieces? I've only painted one kit so far and that was the ew heavyarms. I used a brush and painted them on the plastic rungs
+ZombryaTheDark spray can or hand painted
Any tips for me on way I should use for the paint
do you plan on getting the musha mk ii??
Which one is better mg or rg??
9:30 You've got the Katana's scabbard upside down.
I hope that bandai masked an RG or HG SHIN musha
You could have inked the emblem on the chest
no sengoku no jin ver?
would it be possible to use tje armor on a rx 78 2 3.0?
Where did the wood come from? Chopped down a giant redwood tree, obviously. :-)
wait, i thought this model comes with a stand as well with a screen.
+Lamen the Mildly Insane that's the Sengoku no Jin version, would recommend 10/10
awesome
I thought this was based on Gundam Ver.Ka?
You can cheat, use a wash and then gloss varnish on top.
Just bought it
I found this guy for 30 something dallors with a the special edition stand and such.... you think it's worth it?
Melvindog 8 it is worth it found it for 35 on the wish app plus the kit usually goes for 100
pixelman619 yeah I found that too, after I commented on this I realized the model wasn't bandai, it was Dayan or something so I wouldn't recommend buying that one. :)
Melvindog 8 it's still worth it imo. might just be weaker plastic
pixelman619 maybe, maybe.....
Melvindog 8 if nothing else you could use it to make a custom and if the joints are weak that's easily fixed
Cool
I don't know if u have a mg Sengoku or a mg astray red but if u have both can u do a size comparison?? For me
What makes this MG
the simplest answer is the classification of the model on the box, but a general rules is a complete inner frame, decals, more accessories, and high level of detail overall in the kit.
better color
Comes in gloss black a semi gloss metal like red..not the bright red of the standard..and the chrome gold that has bad nubs...
Thats not a lance, thats a ningjata
Naginata.
it looks like a power rangers megazord
thundermegazord right? hahaha
***** bingo!
Iron Man Red
This guy just comes in an MG. So an MG is better than an RG. In this case anyway.
screw choices.
both.
So he's a Transformer but can't transform
umm...the Sheathe is supposed to point DOWN...sorry to be a nitpick...
*A Gundam using a 40 foot long flint lock just seems a little too ridiculous. Too much fantasy*
LOL GUNDAM FORK
