“Who is more contemptible than he who scorns knowledge of himself?” John of Salisbury.
Please, don’t include irrelevant, one off, anecdotal stories, AND, the recent events in Iran known as زن زندگی آزادی, when we talk about the brave and galant struggle of Iranian women.
No need to talk about the anecdotes, though interesting stories of human endeavors , but they are not representative of the brave struggle of Iranian women for centuries. The issues Iranian women are fighting for are much deeper, much wider in scope, much longer in duration and has taken the life of many of our sisters. So please, if you have to talk about this subject take all these factors into consideration.
    زن زندگی آزادی.
I can’t say for sure, how it all started, because the direction it has turned into is so suspect.that even its origins of the movement has become suspect, therefore, it should be studied and analyzed very carefully.
Nonetheless, regardless of its origins, whether it was spontaneous or it was planned, It soon became a potent tool for the regime to identify the anti regime groups and individuals amongst Iranian diaspora.
The violence the regime showed while the eyes of world was on them, was a calculated act. To frighten the hell out of Iranian diaspora, and the message was “don’t come back”. These kinds of tactics are not new, “let hundred flowers bloom” is well known in the history of 20th century.
By not looking at the events, unemotionally and with pragmatism, we will invite more “contempt” up on ourselves.
