    Brooks looks beautiful, just for that reason I would get them , irrespective of other features which might not be in favor of brooks . But that’s just me

    I own both shoes I actually prefer the glycerin overall even the ride. I use the triumph 18 for recovery runs and glycerin for my long runs. Both great shoes though

    Thanks for another great review I’ve got the
    Clifton 7 it was ok at first but now I keep getting blisters when I run in them .
    I might try the Saucony triumph 18 👍

    The Cliftons might not suit you if you have wider feet. I found them to be very tight in the midfoot area.

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому +2

      Interesting, I was really happy with the Cliftons, but my feet are a bit between D and 2E, so I don't need something super wide.

    • @imola8
      @imola8 2 роки тому

      I made the same experience. I have normal wide foot and Saucony`s and Brooks`s just fit my feet fine. Bought the Clifton and it was unfortunately to narrow on my forefoot.

    Why nothing about all around support, arch support etc. very important!

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому

      Great question, technically these are neutral runners, they are not "support" or "motion control" shoes so no need to cover the arch design since they are not really designed to add additional support. If you are looking for support shoes check out the Saucony Guide or Brooks Adrenaline series.

    Thank you for this excellent review of the two shoes that I've narrowed down to for my long slow runs. I will be replacing worn out Altra Paradigms but not concerned with the drop. I think its come down to the toss of a coin!

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому +3

      Glad it was helpful! Ya these are pretty similar, a coin toss should work. The Saucony is a touch more plush, and the colors are a bit louder.

    Love the comparisons. Overall Brooks has been better in terms of fit for me as a brand, but as a very light weight runner I stay away from heavy shoes. I’ve actually been using the Saucony Endo Speeds as a long run shoe. It’s only $10 more than those two, and while the upper is minimal, it is forgiving below the upper. Martha

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому +1

      Ya the Saucony's are great shoes too, not in the same world as these two, but a great option for someone that wants something a little higher performance than these two cushioned daily trainers. Thanks for the comment!

      If you like something that’s really cushioned and soft try on some ASICS Novablasts or Gel Nimbus.
      ASICS is always a good place to start and won’t break the bank on sale.
      If you have an outlet store or mall within your reach I’d start there.

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому +1

      Ya a netural, cushioned shoe like these two, or gel nimbus are not a bad place to start. If you pronate at all though you may want to check out supportive shoes.

    I went to buy Timberland boots and just tried this sauconi for a moment.
    Took them instead of the boots. Man they are soft! Comfortable! The softest shoes ever tried!
    Yes the heel is not totally secured in the shoe but i can compromise for the softness/plush benefit.

    I have the ghost and the glycerin and my ghosts are actually heavier than my glycerins

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому

      There's not a huge difference in weight on those two. I think the Ghost is supposed to be 10.1 and the Glycerin 10.2... There's some variability in the weight listed by the manufacturer and the weight on my scale, I've even found difference between left and right shoes... If you're Ghosts are older they could be heavier than newer glycerins too.

    Thanks for the review. I was just wondering how both of these runners stack up in terms of their width and toe box fit. Do they run narrow in the standard size and is there a bit of space free in front of the toes. Would appreciate any feedback as I am currently considering both these shoes. Thanks.

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому +1

      I have a slightly wider foot and ran both of these in a standard D width, and both worked well. The uppers are plenty flexible and conform to the shapes of your foot. Unless you have extremely wide feet, I think the D width should work for you. Be sure to check out the individual reviews on both of these: Brooks Glycerin 19 (ua-cam.com/video/63SfFydAie8/v-deo.html) and Saucony Triumph 18 (ua-cam.com/video/QwrxnxmTxq0/v-deo.html)

    • @RunRepeatcom
      @RunRepeatcom  3 роки тому

      They feel fairly identical in fit, but they are pretty identical in performance so it may make more sense to get a slightly different style of shoe like a true recovery shoe or something for faster efforts.

      I was not a huge fan of the Bondi to be honest, check out my review on the latest version: ua-cam.com/video/pV_k-PqDqXQ/v-deo.html. To me the Bondi is a bit heavy and clunky, but it does have it's purpose, if you are over 200lbs I think it can excel, but for anyone under 200lbs I'm just not sure you need that much stiff foam underfoot.

      The midsole is a bit softer on the Triumph which for people used to running in stiffer shoes can take a bit to get used to. New muscles activating to help you balance on a less stable, softer foam. Glad you found and like the Ghost 13, if you need a more cushioned shoe that's very similar check out the Brooks Glycerin 19, very similar to the Ghost just a bit more foam under foot.
