- Whether you like the show or not, street outlaws has a huge following. Many of the TV show stars did not realize just how big the show was to people until they did this race at Bristol, which likely started the new era of the show and the No Prep Series. 30,000 People showed up on a Tuesday night in Bristol, Tennessee to see their favorite drivers battle it out for a huge pay day. Proving that these street racers have made a huge impact in the world of drag racing.

I seriously doubt a single piece of that Butler motor was made by Pontiac or GM... It's like calling a Brodix a Chevy.
Michael Proulx the old saying was " how do you make a Pontiac go fast....put a chev motor in it" that saying is well outdated and not true.
Butler Pontiac motors are based in Pontiacs. Modifed obviously. If they weren't youd see oh a 706ci 455 Pontiac engine makes sense. And if the engines had nothing to do with Pontiac they would make alot more cash saying there Chrysler. Even Ford or Chevrolet. Go look for Pontiac performance engine company's. There like a 4 leaf clover. There out there but there's 1 in how many to find one? Very rare. I love Pontiac and I love cars with the same brand motor and I love seeing amazing muscle cars/pony cars/coupes that are very rare made fast. Rare to see a Pontiac unless if the f body 90s prostock body everyone has. People with those don't go out looking for a Pontiac body. Same with a Buick regal which is rare especially with a Buick motor or a old's with a old's motor. Hell it's even rare to see a old Chrysler dodge Plymouth with a matching brand engine. It's all Chevrolet engines because there cheap and easy to find and easy to build. And the people with alot of cash usually don't have much pride in there car they just care about how fast it is. For example a rich guy buying a prostock body 90s firebird which so many people have and most of them have never owned a Pontiac than they throw in a 632 bbc because it's easy to find. Me I like to be different especially in racing where 99 percent of people's cars fall in to a few categorys. Like see how many fox body's and camaro there are? How many 1969 dodge charger body's have you seen drag racing? Authentic or remade body still one of the most loved and known muscle car yet you never see them. It's because most racers either don't have the money to custom make something or don't care about how there car looks how aren't a hardcore car enthusiast. If I was rich I'd maybe buy a fox body because I like them but for my main car id build something everyone loves but doesn't put the effort to find one and do the build without copying someone else's build. How about a 1969 Oldsmobile cutlass with a 455 old's based stroker racing engine with twin promod 98 turbos. That'd be rare and nice. Or how about a Ferrari testarosa with a racing v12? Expensive yes but even with a bbc in it for cheaper costs the body in glass molded wouldn't be hard and it would look like and how many people love Ferraris as far back as kids with Ferrari posters? There's cheap ways to do it. Just people these days wanna copy other builds or don't put alot of effort in to building there dream drag car. There's alot of self claimed car enthusiasts but there are very little die hard love everything about cars car enthusiasts. I don't know to me my race car means alot to me and I build something I love, and something that is different or at least isn't common. People spend so much time on names or expensive paint and wraps for there cars to be different Instead of looking for a steel roof and quarters or looking for or getting a custom glass mold of the car they truly love. Most guys just aren't car enthusiast and wanna race so just follow what they see or find first. It's like someone saying they love rap music and dedicate everything they buy or do that involves music with lil Wayne and no other rapper because that's what everyone else likes the most at this time. More trend chasers I guess. Or it's like someone needs and wants a house and they go online and type in the most popular house designs and building that instead of taken a little effort in being different or putting a little effort in to building what they want not what's easier or what everyone else is doing.i don't know I've always chased what I personal liked. And in a world of so many racers everyone wants to be different but won't put the effort in to having a different car body and enjoying it more instead of buying the average camaro body and spending more time or the same and same cash or more on special wraps etc and trying to find a cool name etc.
For sure we need more pontiac, Oldsmobile, Ford, Chrysler, Ferrari lambo engines and so on. Nice to see different set ups that people out effort in to. Instead of people just using different wraps and car names to stand out in a crowd of the name car body brand and engine brand as a shit load of others

Big chief deserve to win the big race at Bristol he is bad ass and he is street outlaws without him in the show it would go to shit. I’m pleading with the discovery channel to not let Asian introduce the show in the beginning it takes the excitement out of getting ready to watch one of the best shows in history. Get back big chief on introducing the beginning of each show not Asian please

Esabatm wow, what a great and completely valid observation. Right on to that. Why wouldn't a huge trademark and brand such as NHRA back this 100%? The blind could see the ROI. One reason comes to mind, Street Racing. Though this is not, the "SUITS" with the money cannot distinguish the difference. They have the Force family and support the family image. Look at ticket sales from NHRA events.

You stole my thunder. Top Fuel and Funny Car races are over so fast there is no time for drama to build. Pro Stock has become laughable; there is nothing stock about them. The NHRA simply doesn't get it. It's not about going quicker all the time. It's about racing that excites the fans.
Esabatm people was turned away this night at the track because all couldnt fit... not to mention people left work went there stayed all night drove home an back to work with maybe a hr sleep lol nhra cant touch that.

That's like preparing the track all the way down with rubber because the first 330 ft are all traction or it's a strategy against a nitrous car buying time for that car raising it's engine temp. Don't get me wrong, he's my favorite and a great driver but those are one of the tricks he has up his no sleeve shirts. lol.
Willing to bet that Fiske/Klugger Blue Fox body Mustang on drag radial tires with no wheelie bars would clean house on most if not all the cars racing their including Big Chief. Even though the car setup for quarter mile racing but it still runs 3.80's in the 1/8th. Just Google or UA-cam World's fastest drag radial car in the quarter mile and see for yourself.
There is a difference tho. He is doing those times on a prepped surface. These guys are doing no prep

The NHRA is really losing big not backing this type of racing and its events. The stands are packed with ticket sales. They are losing a lot sticking with the Family demographic and the Forces. Just my opinion.

I live in a state with a high rate of meth use and can spot a tweaker from a mile away. I can tell you for a fact Justin was either tweakin or coming down. I think he was just wired on adrenaline and monsters. He always has one in his hand. Hes put some weight back on so i think hes cool now but I do believe he may have been doing something in the past hence the massive weight loss. Either way, I still love that dude!
