As a person who's father grew up in Safety Harbor in the 40's and I grew up there in the 70's this video shows why we all sold our homes there and moved. They destroyed what Safety Harbor once was before the Bayside Bridge was built and they turned it into a commercialized tourist destination with bars up and done main street. There were only 2 bars there my entire life. It all started when they let them build the Lovers Oak condos in 1976 ignoring the historic tree which the Tocobaga people were married under for centuries before. I live in Tampa now and the last time I visited Safety Harbor I saw no reason to ever visit again. Absolute garbage and main street is gone!!!
Great video about our amazing city!
Thanks for watching and commenting Gina. Really appreciate it!
You should have seen what it once looked like, it was an amazing little town and my memories of growing up there are just as amazing!!!
I love to see the number 1 barbor in the harbor featured in this video!!
Me too! Brian is the greatest!
Check out the small town charm of Frostproof Florida someday and the two beautiful lakes surrounding it. It's a diamond in a rough.
I would love to come on the next visit!
Looks like you’ve actually missed the boardwalk.
