    Can’t compare the two
Gareth has competed & won everything at club level, his resume of honours is incredible. Plus he’s 32 now. he has nothing left to prove.
Jesse is 29 & has been useless for years, had 1 good loan & now he’s a tiktoker.

@@dansomething7742 completed football? He’s been a joke a Madrid for years. If you are going to talk about a player willing to just sit on the bench and collect a cheque then bale is the antithesis of that. He’s stole half of his medals as a squad player who couldn’t be left out because of the wage he was on and the fact that HE REFUSED to be sold before, purely and simply because he knew he was getting big money to practice his golf swing.. why do you think nobody was scrambling to sign him? Legends always find a club regardless, look at zlatan, he could walk into any team, because when he puts the shirt on he gives his all

Bale was an arrogant, disrespectful ungrateful sod towards everything about Madrid. The people, the club, his teammates. Victimised. What tosh. He couldn't be arsed. Ronaldo dented his ego and his agent resented Ronaldo too. Didn't step up to the plate after Ronaldo departure. Once he won CL in 2018, he put his feet up, took the piss and played golf, which allowed him to turn up in some sort of decent condition to drag Wales through play offs. Stole a living for 4 years. That's why Madrid fans can't stand him. UK media again syncophancy for one of their own and xenophobia towards foreign clubs.

7:31 Wayne’s spot on especially with the young players comment. Until about 5 years ago MLS has this fake it till you make it attitude and tried to pretend they were what they clearly aren’t a top 5 league in the world and that’s where a lot of criticism (justifiably imo) came/comes from. Now they’ve realized they need to become a selling league and can be a bridge for young players from across the world to places like England and Germany. Developing a few players at DC United and selling them on is good for Wayne’s resume as a coach.

The English have no idea about Bale and Madrid. No idea. In terms of ability and production, Bale was one of the best ever in his position at Madrid. Madrid fans all know that and do appreciate him. About the booing? Everyone gets it we have higher standards and in Spain, the culture is different to England. Ronaldo got booed/ Zidane got booed. Bale's problem was that he started getting injured too frequently and when he came back from the injury he would be very very underwhelming and it kept repeating to the stage where Zidane the manager and the board later on decided he was not the one to rely on for the future and that we need transitioning. Bale's introverted personality definitely didn't help since he couldn't really speak Spanish well after 5-6 years of being there. Go watch an interview with ramos marcelo and few others with bale, he speaks English to them. Literally looks like a kid whos learnt Spanish for 1 month maybe even 1 week. Emery was ridiculed in England and became a meme because of his accent. Lets not forget that in England if you don't speak the language people don't respect you. The Spanish media can be toxic but England is just the same if not worse. Emery actually wasn't that bad in terms of what he did in arsenal and the media's depiction of him had a lot to play in him being sacked. The Madrid board didn't create rumours or news to force Bale out lol simply not true. only the english who never watch La liga would say that. Does not mean Bale is not a legend at Madrid, he rlly is - but we wanted him out because of his 600k wages and we wanted to rebuild , bale didn't wanna go cuz he likes spain/ no one gonna pay as much/ also he thinks of himself very highly he wouldn't go to a mid table or even top 4 club in a league. He knows he's topped all of them by far. He just wants to continue playing in LA get paid a bunch and maybe do more world cups. He's achieved so much and he knows he wont again with another club. He just had a early retirement, not comparable to Lingard. Different bread of players

No-one forces them to do it, they choose to do it, reap the rewards and suffer the consequences.

Lingard is just another example of a young player in the PL who got fame and money too early. When you start making crazy money that you haven't truly earned, then you naturally start to down tools. United are constantly overpaying players who have no right to earn those wages, and then wonder why said players plateau and peter out. United are not alone in this, ofc, but they are a good example.

Lingard when motivated clearly has talent that puts him in the top 10% of players in the PL. The key mistake was going back to Manyoo and Ole and thinking he was going to get loads of game time on a promise from Ole. He should have spent last season playing week in week out, getting goals in Europe, in the PL, being pushed by players like Bowen who would only have made him play better. Instead he has rotted away all season at a key part of his career. Bale is different, he has won things (albeit only because Real won them and he happened to be there, he hardly contributed to many of those trophies) and has been in retirement mode for a couple of years now.

    • @philwill0123

Yep, he was sold a lie last summer and then Ronaldo and sancho was sold. Then in January, he was going on loan, then the greenwood thing thing hit, so man u refused him out on loan.

  • @richardyaboi1902

Players want trophies and to play for their country at major competitions. Bale has already won everything, he will be with Wales whatever happens. Lingard will not play for England unless he is in good form for a good premier league side, he’s also not been a big part of success and winning trophies. Therefore Lingard still has something to achieve, Bale hasn’t.

I don't understand Simon's opinion here at all. He has a low view of everyone on social media except himself. And he thinks all players care more about money than wanting to play football. Jesse stayed at Utd whilst they couldn't decide what to do with their managers and has been there since he was 5 years old. Most players don't stay 22 years at one club. Then Jesse tried to leave to go to Newcastle when he was promised games and underplayed, and Utd tried to get the extra 13 million and screwed that deal up showing littler respect for Jesse or Newcastle. Jesse was clearly offered more money at Newcastle compared to West Ham, and is now only interested in money? He's only got 2 contracts left in his career assuming he can doesn't get a career ending injury, and Simon talks about him like he had a good 6 months at West Ham in his entire career. He's got 32 caps and 6 goals and was one of Englands best players at the 2018 world cup and is used to playing 25 games a season for Utd minimum until the last 2 seasons. And Simon can only remember his Tik Tok career? Moronic.
