Todd and Matt are your hosts for RACK TALK. We will be talking to musicians and recordists to hear their thoughts on gear and music. First up! Jamie Cramer from the band Holy Soldier. They were a Christian Metal band who came up in the late 80s on the Sunset Strip in California.

This was a good interview with Jamie Cramer of Holy Soldier, even though it was only just a lilltle longer than 30 minutes a lot of different things were covered in it.
I have known Jamie and all of the Holy Soldier guys for a pretty long time since I was there from the very beginning with Robbie Brauns as the singer and Larry Farkas playing on guitar with Jamie & Andy and Pete being their drummer.
Andy and I met back in high school and I went with him on the very first day Holy Soldier had their first rehearsal, and just like Jamie said, there were never any egos involved with the band members. Just lots of fun rehearsing, passing out LOTS of flyers everywhere we went, playing gigs, playing pranks on each other and many nights frequenting Denny's restaurants since they were the only restaurants open 24/7 back then.
There was also loads of fun times had with each other outside of rehearsals and gigs too.
I spent a little over 10 years hanging with the Holy Soldier guys going to almost every show they had in California, along with some other cities and some other states too, they are all pretty much the same guys they were back then, with the exception of having wives and grown kids now.
I haven't talked to Jamie in a little while, so this is the first time I have heard he is working on new music with some other musicians, I am very glad to hear he is getting out and playing gigs again... going to have call him this weekend and find out when their first gig is taking place.
