    The most useful thing about having 22kW onboard charging (like my Zoe GTline has) is cheap charging at a reasonable speed when you're out and about. For instance I drove down to Canterbury from my home in Northamptonshire. There are plenty of 22kW chargers in car parks and Canterbury is no exception. I was able to park up, charge, and spend a few hours there and return to a fully charged car at a decent price (much cheaper than a rapid charger typically)

      I remember when 22kw chargers were usually free, happy days

      Agreed it is great but in my experience they are typically more expensive than hyper chargers through Tesla or other subscriptions

      @Popdog76 I use my Octopus Electroverse card where possible as it gives you an 8% discount versus the normal cost of affiliated charging networks.

    As a Porsche / Audi owner ( both ICE) I’ll be needing a new car soon ish I’m 50/50 about electric but this fella would certainly help with choices

    Thanks for the videos Jim. Really useful. One question (and apologies if I've missed the answer) how does the second hand leasing market compare? Asking for a (cheapskate) friend ;-)

    One of the Ariya deals there is insane. £353 per month, nothing upfront for a 2 year lease and 8k miles on the 225kW Advance. I picked up an ID.7 Tourer at £406 on same terms and thought that was good. I think the Ariya deal is even better.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  16 днів тому +1

      Unfortunately that particular broker has form and often likes to say “we only have this colour and it’s £X more” when you call. I have reported them to LeaseLoco for it. Great deal on paper though; let’s hope it exists 👍

    Random one… I’ve been looking at some deals and I usually do c. 10k miles per annum. Some of the deals actually make sense to go ahead with 5k mileage allowance and to pay the excess mileage, is there a limit on this?

  • @ammaraihaan
    @ammaraihaan 16 днів тому +4

    Jim, took your advice and ordered an ID3 for the missus, £289/mth over 4yrs with 8k/pa and 1mth upfront. This is because there is a new face-lift coming out and VW had some end of Dec lease offers.

  • @mikewhite4988

    Very interesting video, i cannot understand why people consider doing leasing you pay alot to money and then have to hand a perfectly good car back to the dealer who says thank you very much. Why not use the 275/mt on an hp the old fashioned way and own the car yourself? Its beyond me but perhaps im missing something, im getting old and can remember when you could buy pre reg cars for 10 grand.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  15 днів тому +3

      You are missing something I think. Do whatever suits you best but if you want the answer to your question maybe watch some more of my videos where I do comparisons.

    • @69Punde
      @69Punde 7 днів тому

      You answered the question yourself, cars do not cost 10k anymore, you are looking at double at least, with hp at current interest rates you are looking at £500 plus pm for a decent car

    Hi jim The pictures you showed on the tavascan are the v2 spec or higher so the deal car doesn't look as good...v2 spec is much higher in price

    Jim, love the channel, one small criticism if I may, can you be careful when showing the car, eg the Tavascan section in this video, the 3d view shows the higher version with gold wheels etc, this is not what u would get with the v1 and if it were me I would be pretty disappointed when the lease company drop it off and it's got smaller, non gold wheels, for example.
    It's a bugbear (is that how u spell it) when sites show the top of the range car yet the car on offer is a lot lower spec. Loco is actually not to bad in that area but it would be good to feel more confident in what you see is what you get

      @DefinitelyNotAGuru ah sorry man, didn't realise, would still be good if you could point that sort of stuff out though and even maybe influence leaseloco to add the right picture or at least a disclaimer if that makes.
      Just well intended suggestions btw, keep up the good work 👍

    That BYD Seal is making long range Tesla Model 3's look like a bargain...I really think they've over priced it. The market really needs a decent range/price saloon car to challenge Tesla, but not at nearly £500/month....

    I can imagine that the company's that lease these car's are getting them at trade value and the oem will be glad to get rid of them because they will have new models in the pipeline.

    • @DefinitelyNotAGuru
      @DefinitelyNotAGuru  15 днів тому +1

      Leasing companies buy cars in huge volumes and then offer them out to brokers. Sometimes you can get an amazing deal when a car is about to get a refresh but often other factors play a more important part in the pricing. Brand new models and nameplates sometimes attract great deals for example as manufacturers want people to see plenty of them on the roads.

    Why would you need GAP insurance if your car insurance is new for old?

    • @adamspencer95
