8:59 You were Empowered because a Warlock running Well of Radiance melee'd an enemy near you. If you watch the kill feed, someone landed a melee kill, and you can hear the groan of a dying Guardian to your right. Well of Radiance's melee (Guiding Flame) gives the Empowered buff to all nearby allies.
I remember at one point of time my friend was in love with this gun and would exclusively use it in gambit and crucible, when he saw other people use it he thought he started a trend. He doesn't play that much anymore he's more of sidearm type of guy now whenever he plays on the rare occasion.
Some time ago, I was LFGing a bunch of no mic GMs, when we had anti barrier scouting mods. And I was asked a couple times from random folk and a few whom I run with, why was I using Polaris. Before when you actually had to worry about your ammo, this damn thing was a MONSTER taking out champions. The burn effect is legit, it's SUPER accurate, it handles well, the scope is clean, you have wonderful indication on your solar charges, and you could legit just sit there and burn up champions from across the map. One of the best scouts in the game and I consider myself a scout primary main
Isn't it funny how both of the Bray sisters' weapons rewind the bullet back to the magazine after a headshot? No time to explain returns the shots after headshots, the polaris lance returns bullets after headshots. It's funny.
I know i just found it out. And i love both those weapons. Its kinda cool. I wonder if Bungie did that on purpose? Who knows. I just think its neat. Kinda fits for lore, too.
There's a lot of guns like that which are surprisingly good when you sit down and use them. One of the ones that took me by surprise and that I absolutely love is Outbreak Perfected. It's deceptively stable to fire and the fact that the Nanite Swarms will stall the ability to res a teammate. The range kinda sucks but aside from that it's really surprised me.
This is my favorite gun in all of Destiny. Stayed up all night until reset happened to do the quest steps came out during Warmind. I do not regret losing sleep because the gun is everything I wished for. 58k kills on it, just hoping for crucible kill tracker so I can see how many of those are in PvP.
This was the only red war exotic I was missing because my friend told me this thing was bad at everything but so far I am enjoying Polaris a lot. It's not the greatest exotic ever but it's pretty fun and unique, but I do get why people don't care about it.
hey just to bring it up, if you use the polar lance with bottom tree sunsingger/dawnblade your fifth round with the explosion round will make the burn effect longer and great video like always
It's not competitive against aggressive players or in close maps (most maps actually) but it does it's job really well, and when it works it's really satisfying.
wait, are you saying the long range precision weapon archetype is bad on maps where you can't play range or when people close the gap???? oh no. Anyways.
As an actual scout, I feel like Polaris is unmatched. Unfortunately it isn’t very useful as anything other than a scout like some other weapons, and the maps are not very kind to long range weapons
This is literally my favorite gun in D2. Back in the day on ETERNITY, yeah that long ago, I got my first and only we ran in the like first 5 or 6 minutes of the match with PL.
I’d love to see this with the wings of sacred dawn with this setup so that you take reduced damage while you just sit in the air doing the same thing you did in this video but if they focus on you it won’t be nearly as threatening
Wing of sacred dawn would kill his in air strafe, they basicly hold you in place. Not impossibke to use, but its really only for mid tree now since they cant really fly and shoot at the same tine
150 scouts are underrated in general if you aren't used to using them. But they can out gun a dmt if they have to ads. Loved scouts even during the sniper rifle meta. Now that snipers are less oppressive a lot of scouts get to shine.
I remember way back when on Equinox doing some good work with Polaris, it doesn't have particulally good aim assist but it just feels really really good. Still comes out now and again for me.
This thing slapped in GMs last season when we had unstop scout rifles. Scouts are tough in the current set of CQC crucible maps, but obviously, you can be successful with them.
Yeah, a lot of people are sleeping on this weapon. It's my go-to weapon for Widow's Court, Midtown and sometimes Bannerfall. I made someone switch to it after a few times. One of my favorites
I matched someone in Trials using Polaris the other day. They were doing quite well with it too! While I firmly believe that a great Crucible player can pop off with just about any weapon, I have a feeling that this guy was a specialist. He found a weapon he just vibes with & he's mastered it
a lot of people would have this gun when running whisper missions were a thing. so we would recommend it as great boss damage at the time. glad to see it get used again.
I can't remember the name of the legendary version that was similar to the Polaris (Braytech something I think), but after that got vaulted I started to use this. I thourghly enjoy it,, but I see a lot of people say it's pretty bad. Glad to see it in the limelight.
The reason why Jade Rabbit is so good is that it has not only insane range and stability (with catalyst) for a 150, it also has an aim assist stat of 80 which is far more than any other 150 scout in the game (Polaris has 39), even a 200 rpm scout like Night Watch has only 69 (nice). So despite Polaris having preferable exotic perks to Jade, I don't personally think that it feels as good to shoot.
this is one of the main reasons i'll always stan for polaris and ana bray she gave us this beauty. ac130 warlock with lance is amazing as long as people dont look up
For a time it was bugged where the exotic perk wasn't working and made it not very valuable in any activity but now that's it's patched it's nice to use again ngl(also I really like the look of the gun as well)
TDT made a good point in his recent exotic not really a tier list. Every single weapon has it's own niche, it really depends on how you use it. Some will definetly perform better but they all have fun and interesting game play
I haven’t used this thing in forever but if I remember correctly the perfect fifth shot goes away after a short while. I really wished it would just stay until you shot it.
8k kills (it's an achievement for me, I rotate super often) - Polaris is bae. Sustain in PvE, surprisingly effective in Gambit, and paired with a decent shotty in PvP it SLAPS.
It’s a lot better than most people think it is, especially on bottom tree Titan. This and Sunshot are my favourite solar exotic weapons. Titan likes the Boom. 😁👍
I always use Polaris. I use it with path of burning steps on titan cuz with any damage buff you can 2 tap if you have the explosive bullet ready. Obviously it's very situational but man its satisfying.
Love this gun, but personally like using it with Bottom Tree using Wings of Sacred Dawn. I use this same style of playing with Bows, and it is really fun and nice. Sucks at close range though lol.
