I'm interested in upgrading to this one specifically for the higher frame rate and resolution in their pinball games. I just don't have room for their pinball table but enjoy playing with the gamer mini
That first table you showed had strange ball floaty-like-hovering-physics. Then the Zacc table felt like night & day.
I was always a big fan of the 90's pinball tables, like the Williams in PbFX3; but recently, I've been falling in love with Zaccaria' simplicity in their 80's tables. Their ball physics, sounds and overall feel is amazing!
Sorry, I thought you were reviewing a Rhomba from the thumbnail :D
Ditto!
I demand a review video on a Rhomba.

I'm wondering if the new puck can play 3D games like Gauntlet and Rampage World tour.
I love my legends ultimate arcade. However what scares me about it later on down the road is if they would ever go out of business the arcade will be useless since you need to connect online. Coinops won't work anymore
someone will crack the code eventually just like every other gaming console
Does the legends max run the ALP versions of the pinball tables or the legends family versions of the tables? I’m not sure if you can tell due to you having both versions of the tables, but I know for ALP users this is a hugely important issue that needs to be answered.
The signing into CoinopsX after 5 times is the reason I haven't bought more cabinets. Absolutely ridiculous! Also, the having to partition usb now. All set with buying anymore Atgames products.
Is there any advantage to using this over a RPi 4?
I agree - should have improved on a couple things like a 2nd USB port and an On/Off switch. There are easy aftermarket solutions, but considering this is the next gen AG Core, that has to be considered a miss by AG. A small pack of built-in games would have been nice that showcase the add'l power, but I do wish you would have at least tested some games that load but don't run smooth on the current core. Thanks for the review, but all you really said is it's not a step back from the other core and performs at least as well - possibly better.
What is the next evolution of the product from here? Do they just sell their front end platform so you can put it on any device you already have?
They already do, it's called atgames connect
I have the smaller one and it's really laggy with some games. You can tell on Cadash and how the audio lags when you press the attack button. Is this one better?
What about running beefier Coinops games like the CPS-3 games such as the Street Fighter 3 games or Midway arcade games like Mortal Kombat? Some of them had issues running on earlier models like if I try to get to the button mapping screen, it crashes. Do they work any better on the Max?
The main reason for the Max is to run pinball smoother and in 1080p.
Do you think this is a better option than the Super RetroCade? I still have my SRC on heavy rotation with an arcade stick made with help of your tutorial.
I wish I had bought that instead of this orig puck. Hardly any controllers work with it either
Super Retrocade is awesome,,well i have both the S retrocade n the AtGames Arcade Legends
Holy sh*t the pinball cab looks freaking real. I'm not really a pinball guy but man that does look neat.
How quickly does it scroll the wheel in CoinOpsX compared to a normal ALU?
Same
@@gonagai1359 🤯
@@Mr_CopaceticGamer does that seem inconceivable to you?
@@gonagai1359On the contrary I was actually mind-blow that it doesn’t…!
@@Mr_CopaceticGamer yeah what I meant. That saying it doesn't speed it is inconceivable. I haven't tested it since the cox app can run off the built in storage with the new update. I don't think it will but I suppose it may be possible
Why should the community be responsible for fixing their product!? Am I crazy here? Me thinks it should be up to AT Games to do that stuff!
They are bare bones products not very consumer friendly unless you load them up with 3rd party products and hope they work because atgames will not offer ANY support when it comes to 3rd party products hell you even have to mod their $150 core max if you want a power button instead of constantly plug and unplugging the power cord
I give this review two thumb bumps. 👍👍 Even though I don't need it, I may pick one of these up. It still weirds me out hearing you give positive reviews of AtGames products. They definitely stepped up their game with these legends devices.
Will I ever find the coleco version of zaxxon on this ?? Trying to find that game.
After 11 minutes.... Was it more powerful then?
So can you just throw your own roms on this thing? How's controller support?
si it faster loading coinopX? Are the menus faster in coinopX?
Can this Core Max connect to the Legends BitLCD?
My 2 stick panel with track ball is collecting dust. Might need to dust it off now
I need a good video on how to get coin ops to work on these pucks. I cannot get that working right and I have a plex server lol so I can work stuff but ugh cannot get that running right
Pdubs has some vids
Thanks M.L.P
This new puck is thick as hell. Especially compared to the original.
Just as shitty but twice the price
Something tells me no more freebie giveaways for reviews 🤣 but I appreciate the honesty. But for a free review, too many I don't knows. A quick Google search brings up actual proc specs. Running the games that had issues on core as someone mentioned would've been ideal.
Will it work if it's in an ALU using functionality of its joysticks, spinners and trackball? Will it work with 4 player deck? I'd like to use it in an ALU to upgrade monitor since it has hdmi.
I thought these were robot vacuums
i’ve been playing games since 1981 I’m a little burnt out on retro games.
I recognize I'm like a year late, but the standard core does have some trouble running the Space Invaders table. It runs, just not great. The Dr. Seuss and Natural History tables could run better too, though they aren't too bad. When I tried out streaming on the original core, it crashed several times and had several other failures to record properly aside from the crashing. I plan on upgrading to the Core Max later this year for those reasons. If you aren't playing pinball or streaming though, the standard core is great! And it runs all other Taito tables very well, just not the Space Invaders table. I can't speak for Zaccaria or Gottlieb since I just play those on PC and don't have them on the AtGames ecosystem.
They should improve on the internal storage especially for the updates and games downloads. Giving it an SD card slot would be better and even adding an extra USB slot for adding a thumb drive or external hhd. Personally I think they're milking it just to take your money. No real advancements on there products.
This looks pretty interesting.
Do you think think this would run 3DO games ? if so I am in..
Nope. Not unless hacked.
ATgames got their act together with the legends stuff.
it looks like a kitchen appliance
but will it emulate n64?
Shame you didn't try any of the arcade games that run poorly on the original core, like metal slug 5 or street fighter turbo. Likely a few more I can't think of that still run on the core, but have slowdowns and performance issues that the max may have solved.
Because he probably.. didn't know lol 🤷♂️
@@Roadsurfer2k11 I mean he did mention "it's a shame there are no games to test the higher performance on". There are, quite a few in fact. But yeah it's an older video so I guess he just didn't know about them back then.
Can’t beat the KinHank. 50 games? How generous.
Simpsons arcade I hope is on there
You can add your own rom yes
Can it play NFL Blitz?
No
Wow AtGames games have really improved from those past plug and play that were as bad as Chinese systems. Good review and cool video Ron!👍
The only thing is having to log in regardless that gets pretty annoying
It's cool but the price is 175 dollars. That's really high for what your getting.
Ass Games has come a long way!
Really starting to dislike atgames products just got my max and my USB hub that worked fine on the basic version will not work at all on the max only got the max cause I couldn't get my aimtrak light gun to work on the basic oh yeah and now the $150 max won't even recognize the aimtrak light gun either and it freezes everytime I turn it on unless I unhook my coinopsx USB stick b4 plugging it in constantly doing that will mess up both the port on the puck and the USB stick haha this company is a joke
Atgames are crooks. They take your preorder fee and won‘t return it, even delete the the whole thing ever happened. Thx for 50$ wasted !
Is this the new Soulja Boy X?
No the atgames arcade sticks are pretty legit, I have the 2 player stick w track ball and it's sweet. I have ab 7000 games on it, arcade and console.
@@terminalpower. 😁 I was attempting to be cheeky. And I'm not even English.
STAY AWAY FROM THESE PRODUCTS!! Like stated in the video, AtGames makes the products worse and worse with every firmware update. They are constantly breaking key features, they have zero quality control when it comes to patching. My ALP pinball machine has had broken sound and haptics for a month with no end in sight. They are a JOKE!!
Meh, looks dumb
