Not to mention this is, like, his fiftieth descent into the Backrooms. You'd think he'd know better. Changing rooms is just the norm for that place.
The hill level was crazy! Almost perfectly describes one of my biggest fears or something that makes me uncomfortable. A town that is “fake” with a bunch of mannequins, but when it turns to night, everything turns against you. The loud sound when the sky turns on and off is insanely creepy indicating that the place is huge and that there are tons of entities everywhere.
It's a giant f'ed up game of musical chairs (houses)
It’s Level 94 on the Backrooms Wiki(s) and there’s more to it outside the game, there is a castle and a king, its one of the most popular levels!
I never really had a fear like this but as a kid I was thoroughly creeped out by the music video of Papaoute

I love how they inform the rookie (new guy) that they have to stick together because they won't go off looking for you if you disappear, and then the same guy keeps splitting up from the others.
The most nervewracking parts of watching you guys play Backrooms games is watching your flashlight battery tick down when you haven't noticed yet
At 30:00 going down the elevator, his battery reset to 100% from 167.20%, and this bothers me deeply!! Not because the hoarding of batteries is made pointless but purely because it's that much closer to being dead! Lol
Taking time to list all the things they did right
1. Option to just leave
2. See your own body
3. Option to skip tutorial
4. A very realistic tutorial I can believe.
5. the very edges of your screen warp with the opening of the threshold!
6. it punished IGP for wandering around like an idiot XD
7. They give you an option to do the horror movie mistake or GTFO, lol.

Damn, I have immense respect for the creator! A game where choices really do matter, with each possible intersection sending you down an entirely different path! They could've just taken it easy, and make a linear game where the "Don't get separated from the team" would simply mean no possibility to get separated from them, no alternate path, yet they went above and beyond, with at least 3 "scenarios", each with branching paths, and technically more endings! I cannot wait to see the game updated and truly finished!

My immediate reaction to hearing Bryon voice was to not trust it. I literally said out loud “that’s not Bryon that is clearly a trap” because I’ve watched so many creatures having the ability to mimic voices of people they heard or killed.
Im sure there is like a kane pixels backrooms short that plays out exactly like this in the same backrooms area.

its like in Kane Pixel's "pitfalls" where Marvin [ the camera man ] hears a voice calling for help, only to find out it was the life form.
The ability is gained by eating brainz.
Its little things like the reverb IGP adds to his voice in post for when he is wandering the garage in 21:40 that keeps me coming back, love the attention to detail 🔥
38:16 I am being genuine when I say this is one of the first Backrooms levels that actually gave me goosebumps and made me terrified. The sheer sound alone of night coming accompanied with the flickering sky gives me a feeling like no other before.

this seems loosely based Kane Pixels "The Backrooms" shorts. He some videos with a story of scientists who already had access to the backrooms and they built this lab type thing around the entrance. So that they could prepare to go in safely. like any safe start entrance for scary things. like in stranger things, and any sci-fi space movie with pre enter rooms to get ready in before entering the unknown. This is really cool. I do like this version better than the others
I'm so happy with this. Most backrooms games, including some ones that have received the most attention, entirely miss the point of the backrooms, just focusing on puzzles and monsters like any generic horror title. The whole point of the uncanny nature of the backrooms is environment and ambience. The few games like this and the Lost Tapes understand what's supposed to be the focus and absolutely nail it. They are proving to be exceptionally talented and I'm excited to see what they can do in the future.
I’m not a very reactive person, however, whenever IGP deviated from the adventure line, I began panicking aloud. As soon as I realized I was shouting, “no no no no” I began laughing at myself.

I'm so happy to see others play the Dreams backrooms creation as its such a high quality game, you can tell the dev works very hard especially considering its completely free. I play it all the time, it's my absolute favourite backrooms game that isn't very well known. Thanks for exploring through all the levels! I never could find them all.
Note to self, if assembling a team to stay together for a mission, never select IGP
Alright this has to be my favorite backrooms game by far, based solely on the fact you have nearly unlimited freedom. You dont have to play the main story, you can explore without repercussion. And there aren't any invisible walls to block you from anywhere. Best backrooms game period.

I really like this take on the Backrooms! Especially with the levels and the enemies: the Smiler in particular. I like the fact it’s not just a disembodied face in the dark, but an actual entity with large teeth- and the chattering is a really cool touch! And the levels are unique but still familiar AND creepy. I love that! Plus the sound design and the music are *chef’s kiss* IMMACULATE
It’s super creative and makes this Backrooms game a breath of fresh air compared to others (and the current lore itself tbh). I hope it gets the recognition it deserves because this is superb for a Dreams game!
Current lore sucks tbh. It was great until internet middle schoolers decided to make in into the next SCP when it’s nowhere near as open ended meaning it all got bland and unoriginal very fast, like the 30 billion monster OCs in every level

1: Calm down everyone, IGP instantly got lost and abandoned his team in a masterful gambit to slide the call back into a masterful segue, with veteran foresight and preplanning...or was it just coincidence? I'd like to think so. 😉🤣
2: Phenomenal editing and storytelling stitching it back into itself, really awesome way of presenting the multiple playthroughs there. 👍👍

No, it was just a joke they put in there for UA-camrs who speak while they play. It's supposed to be a third wall thing and it's really funny if you actually got it.

Honestly I’m an older guy and usually don’t get into stuff like this but that part early on where the teeth guy got you the second time honestly made me jump and laugh at the same time. The people that made this did so good. Keep em coming.

Would be nice if it continued to grow and add more and more levels of the back rooms.....imagine access to a few hundred at some point. I'm still surprised someone hasn't created a survival game where you set up bases and supply chains in an effort to just live, escape or research the backrooms.
I think there is/was one, but I don't recall the name of it. It was early access probably some 6 months ago, and you had to find resources and the like to survive (food, materials to build, etc). There were safe spaces with "bases" that you could find, with a trader and whatnot. I'm not sure what came of it, but it was pretty limited when I saw the gameplay some time back, and the enemies were incredibly difficult.
But I agree - It would be really cool to see a "The Forest" style Backrooms game. I'd like to see a good Backrooms game that showcased a lot of the more obscure levels, instead of all of the popular ones. As good as some of these are, the pool rooms, library, office space, run for your life, etc. are getting kind of predictable and dull. Still entertaining to see Indie and Co play them, though!
Problem is that not many people play Dreams
imagine how cool multiplayer would be with a near infinite map, some areas are charted out but you only run into them once an hour in your playthrough

This is (and I agree with your take) Literally one of the best Backrooms games ever. Its so different, and it feels very story driven and I love that.
While yes, I do like modern backrooms, with the monsters and all that- but seeing one that is more focused on telling a story then just surviving monsters is just so interesting and entertaining for me!
I hope people in the future focus on a more story driven backrooms concept. (Even though I feel like backrooms is still dying) Though I still hope to see more backrooms games and other content for it sometime in 2024!

Hey IGP did u realize that level with the air balloon is from the machines doctors scan your eyes with irl when you need a new pair of glasses, in that machine u look into a long road and at the end of it there's a air balloon. That's insanely well made props to the maker of the game

It makes me so happy that there's a pretty well known channel out here playing games on Dreams. It should've had/needs more attention. I can't even begin to imagine what kind of stuff we'd find if Dreams was more mainstream.
Nobody does this type of shit better than IGP. This is better produced and way more thrilling than any movie hollyweird can offer.

The way that there's actually a group researching the backrooms and have thresholds to enter and exit reminds me of Kane Pixels videos.
Game looks solid. Much prefer it when the focus is more on atmosphere rather than just constant running from things trying to kill you.
Would like to see mroe like this, or something lore accurate with things like litterally having to no clip out of level 0.
The part 12 minutes in is literally identical to a Kane Pixels video. Research team wanders into an area that looks like an outdoor neighborhood, hear a man pleading for help, go into a house to find him, get chased by a giant monster that eats a member of the team.
Please please play more of this. Absolutely enthralling world building and the fact this was made in dreams is insane! Not only one of the best backrooms games but easily one of my favorite games in years.
This was crazy! It also appears to be based on the Kane Pixels series. At least the portal machine, the red light district, and corpses in hazmat suits with pools of black blood around them are things that appear in that series.

This is only making me want to see even MORE of these interesting and wildly creative games on Dream. Isle of Eras was the first I ever saw and on your channel and it holds such a special place in my heart. I think all games should embrace their plot and tell their story the way they want it to be told and experienced.

That was AWESOME. I look forward to seeing more updates to this game. I hope this guy continues the story after he's done cleaning up the chapters. The atmosphere was both terrifying and intriguing.

this has honestly portrayed the levels the best I've ever seen honestly. the lore is its own interpretation but this is just awesome.
The one thing about the Backrooms is that there's no single canon to it; the "levels" was just one take on it, THIS one (or at least the square holes and the street) were from Kane Pixel's series, specifically "Pitfalls"
Which is why it sucks so hard. Nobody can keep the story straight and those that try have 0 quality control. Ever since it was popularized by those videos it’s become a budget SCP project with 5% of the imagination

Man, thanks to you IGP, I now understand how my friends who always get lost, get lost. They literally say "boy I sure do want to stick together in these woods" as they do a hard 90 degree turn straight into the pitch dark. This was a glimpse into a mindset I did not understand.

I love the multiple choice factor in this and the conversations between characters flow well, haven’t finished the video yet, but I can’t wait to watch more! Props to the developers, I’ve consumed so much backrooms content I’ve gotten quite sick of it so I’m glad to find something new and interesting on it.

Another great example of Backrooms (Not Getting Inside By Accident Type) is The Complex: Expedition, prequel of this game The Complex: Found Footage is also masterpiece of horror.
34:03 the music in this level is lowkey such a soft headpop, kinda reminds me of something that would be played at a beach or cabana. It might seem a lil haunting but honestly I'd listen to an hour of that just vibing

So confused did the rewind playback what you did or did you re-edit that in the game, idk this game is mysteriously interesting, they didn’t even have to make it challenging, just a story mode with the beautiful levels is therapeutic enough lol nice upload
I edited that into the video because I ended up playing some levels out of order due to the fact that he has updated a few of them which includes other paths and levels depending on your decisions haha

The constant Rewinding you do makes this *even more* confusing. Not a fan of that, but otherwise ok video.
So when you rewind it, does that mean that you've found an ending and just basically replayed the game? If so that's very nice. The replayability and your editing mesh well together.
Yeah so the way Dreams works is you can have multiple "levels" in a single "game", but each episode counts as a separate creation. In this Dev's case it's a little messy when you go to his page and I ended up doing stuff out of order. That and also because yes, some of the paths lead to others that I didn't realise so when I rewind I'm showing an alternate path from the moment I rewind *to*. Hope that makes sense haha

It took me a bit of time to catch on but nonetheless, that was so good. I hope the editor of this game comes out with the rest soon so I can see you play it once again, because your edits on these backrooms videos are so top notch and fits the theme. Good stuff, IGP.

IS told not to wander off. Takes the earliest opportunities to wander off then is surprised when is lost 10 minutes into the game. Classic lol
I love the way you edited this video. So good. I would also love to see a God view of all these maps and see how they tie together outside of FPPOV.
Honestly, watching this in the background while working on my own game isn't the best idea. After all, how can I focus on my work with this video being so freaking cool! Props to the dev for making it and props to the narrative you've added. Really gets the mind thinking about different theories and alternate timelines that could be happening as well as distortion effects within the backrooms. Also, I home you enjoyed your family time and have a safe New Year!
