- Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player and Tom Watson served as honorary starters to open the 87th Masters. The group is welcomed to the tee by Fred Ridley, Chairman of Augusta National Golf Club.

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

Gary wiping away tears at the start there, missing his old friend Arnie
you can tell they are still having a blast, legendary
Tom was my favorite golfer growing up. Love all these legends.
This always makes me tear up watching these great men. Watching the masters in the 70s and 80s with my dad brings back the best memories. Thanks to 3 golf legends.
Inspirational. Three great champions. Gary Player is testament to staying slim and keeping everything in moderation. Fantastic.
American pomp and ceremony is brilliant!!
Never gets old. Long life to each of these gentlemen.
I remember when it was Gene Sarazen, Byron Nelson and Sam Snead. And Nicklaus, Watson and Player were actually playing in the tournament. I'm getting old.
Love Gary Player
Me encanta ver a Gary hacer la gracieta con el palo , a Nick con su buen humor y la elegancia de Tom. Cada año mejor.😊
I know Spring time has arrived when these legends tee it up for this beautiful Masters tradition. And we're all missing the King, Arnold Palmer. ⛳️
Gary Player looks so active and strong for his age
At 87, Gary Player looks to have a faster swing speed than either Nicklaus or Watson, who is 14 years younger than Player. A testament to his lifelong dedication to physical fitness. Icons of the sport.
MAGA Jack trying to take after Trump's physique.
@@JohnJakeWilliam did you need to say this?
@@stalli1973 the tolerant left.

Awesome for these 3 legends 👏
The BEST tradition in sports. Period
Great to see these guys, fantastic attitude. Legends
Thank you Augusta, That was nice ..👍👍
정말 감동적입니다😊
Tom Watson, the 'Gentleman' of Golf...
Let’s Go Tiger!!!!
Congratulations 🎊 congratulations
How bout more updates on The Masters on UA-cam, besides this 11min ago? 3pm eastern nada as of any..
I have such mixed emotions seeing Jack Nicklaus at such an advanced age. Brings back such wonderful memories, but it also pains me to see someone that used to be so strong become so frail.
He’s not frail.
@@paulwilfridhunt Did you not watch the clip?
@@user-tt3vp1uw6o nope
@@user-tt3vp1uw6o I’ll watch it
That’s just the way it is growing into your later years. We all can only hope to be able to tee it up when others find it hard to watch us tee it up for what could be our last time…as nothing is ever guaranteed at that age. I commend these legends for still have their wits about them on the world wide stage of the Masters. One we can only dream of, yet they have earned every right to honour us with their golden swings and personality. NGL I used to find it hard to see my dad entering old age…I had called him Ironman growing up…well before I even knew about the comic book hero.
Tough to watch knowing Jack only has a few swings left.Hoping he keeps swinging until 2026, where he can hit his final tee shot on thee 40th anniversary of his last win. Figuring that would be the perfect send off. Tiger joins on the 1st tee in 2027. 30 years after his 1st win
Tom watson's swing is too different from last year's one. Did he have injuries on his back?
Where is Gary's son?
😆
It's time to release MR PLAYER into the ether. He is no ambassador to the game. I am a South African and I've been playing the game for 20+ years.
Mr player can be seen improving his lie when he won the Open Championship
Let bygones be bygones. He made a few mistakes in the past.....
What a dreadful thing to say
?
@@swiftbobber Garbage. Zero evidence to back up this nonsense claim. This is a man who disqualified himself from a tournament when for a minor rules infraction.. You must be confusing him with Patrick Reed. Having said that - I'm NOT a Gary Player fan.
Jack would have beaten Tiger today
